Reyhan was sipping wine for the second glass. He stood by the quiet window while waiting for Diana to return from the toilet. It had been almost twenty minutes, but Diana had not yet returned and she was beginning to fidget. Her net was watching the guests crowding and conversing with each other.

Soon they were about to enter the main room for a formal dinner and Jonathan appeared to be leading the guests into the room.

"You came with him?" A voice of a girl Reyhan knew interrupted him.

Out of nowhere, Alice was standing next to Reyhan while sipping wine. The girl looked at Reyhan with a scornful look.

"Of course." Reyhan turned his gaze to the crowd of guests. "Tonight is the night of our status announcement."

"Aren't you aware, what you're doing here has slapped me? Shaming my defeated pride competes with a woman like Diana." Alice snorted in annoyance.

"Why do you have to feel that way? Alice, you're wrong to think that way" Reyhan murmured coldly.

Alice let out a long sigh looking at Reyhan's cold expression. "It seems like he's very special to you. You treat her like a queen" she said.

Reyhan glanced at Alice who was sipping wine. Whether it was a glass to how much because Alice looked drunk and unfocused.

"He is special. Diana my wife, she's my queen, mother of my future son."

"What makes her look special in your eyes?"

Reyhan. This time she was sure Alice was really drunk. The girl seemed to be staggering, unable to stand up straight, and leaning against the window.

Alice smiled cynically. "You always called her special because she was pregnant with your child. I'm so curious, what if what makes it special doesn't exist anymore?"

Alice's eyes shone with secrets. "Reprisal. Life must be paid for with life."

Reyhan growled in annoyance. He gripped Alice's arm tightly. Unfortunately, Alice is too drunk to fear the treatment and gaze of killing Reyhan. Alice smiled with a passionate gaze, feeling Reyhan's touch on her body.

"If anything happens to Diana and you're the mastermind, I swear I'll make you regret it for life" Reyhan said.

Alice chuckled happily. "Then, what about what you did to my parents? Did you forget that? Because of you I became an orphan. You promised to take care of me, to be my protector, but it turns out you dumped me after getting the peace letter. You deliberately threw me away so you could freely marry another woman." Alice's eyes flashed with water beginning to pool in her eyelids.

Reyhan's gaze weakened, as did his grip. "Alice, you misunderstood. I never forgot my promise. I sent you abroad and I enrolled you in the best university there. I want you to successfully lead your papa company without my shadow. I love you, Lis." Reyhan cupped Alice's cheeks.

"Bullsh*hits!" alice half shouted. He brushed Reyhan's hand off violently.

"Really Lis, I love you. You're like my sister, you ...."

"I don't want to be your sister." Alice's face was teary. "I want to be your wife."

Reyhan was flabbergasted at the words coming out directly from Alice's lips. She was indeed aware of Alice's feelings for him, but she had deliberately dodged all this time. Alice is a beautiful, young, and from a respectable family. Reyhan did not want to ruin the girl with a distant age difference and her single parent status. Alice deserves a man who is more everything than she is. More handsome, well-established, and of course the same age.

"That can't be Lis, you're a sister to me. Understand ...."

"Unfortunately I don't want to understand. If I can't be your wife then no one has the right to be your wife." Alice laughed cynically.

Reyhan looked at Alice in disbelief. Alice is so stubborn. Reyhan immediately moved away from Alice. Without waiting for Jonathan, he half ran towards the toilet following Diana. Diana had been in the toilet for too long and Reyhan's heart was pounding with anxiety.
