The atmosphere on the highway seemed quiet as the pick-up car carrying Ainul turned and slowly entered the gate of a clinic. The guard was seen walking and began directing the driver to turn his car around.
With great care, Mahmud and the people in the back of the car immediately lowered Ainul and led him into a room the officer had pointed out. They laid Ainul's body in a hospital gurney. A male nurse who came to check, told the people accompanying Ainul to wait outside.
"I ask only the immediate family to accompany the patient here, others please wait outside" the officer said. Humairo looked at Mahmud, as if to apologize. He was ashamed because he felt that he was no longer part of Ainul's life. He felt that Mr. Mahmud was the one who deserved to be the closest person to Ainul. But he hoped, Mahmud sir and the people who were with him came out and left him alone waiting for Ainul.
"Come, gentlemen, we're outside, let's let Humairo take care of Ustadz" said Mahmud, taking his friends out. Humairo let out a sigh of relief, smiling at Mahmud.
The officer then placed the cannula from the liquid oxygen tank into Ainul's nose.
"Tension 60" the officer said. Humairo.
"Wife's mother?" ask the officer again. Humairo nodded. He glanced towards Ainul. Ainul still closed his eyes.
"Since when did you start getting sick, ma'am,"
"Three days ago, sir,"
"why did you bring in" the officer said, checking Ainul's heartbeat. Humairo sighed and looked outwards. Mr. Abbas and those with him were sitting outside the gates of the Clinic. Humairo did not answer.
A female officer came with several pieces of paper. He called Humairo to a table in the next room that was only covered in mosquito nets.
"His wife's mother is a patient?" ask the officer. Humairo nodded. Paper and ballpoint pens thrust the officer in front of Humairo.
"Please sign ya ma'am,"
Humairo grabbed the paper. After reading it for a while, he signed it,"
"Mother has prepared bpjs for the patient" the officer asked again. Humairo shakes.
"You use the public line,"
Humairo. He really doesn't know what to answer. As the officer continued to look at him while waiting for a response from him, Humairo nodded.
"Good ma'am, I'm just waiting for a call from the cashier for administrative purposes." The officer smiled and stepped out of Humairo. Humairo returned to the room where Ainul lay. Ainul still closed his eyes. He had already chosen a common path for Ainul's treatment while in the clinic, while he did not hold any money at all. Humairo looks agitated. There is no other way but to ask Mahmud for help.
Humairo came out and stepped closer to Mahmud. Seeing the arrival of Humairo, Mahmud and the people who were with him immediately rose up.
"How Ustadz Bu is doing" said Mr Mahmud.
"Still waiting for the results of the examination sir,"
Humairo. He looked at Mahmud doubtfully.
"What's wrong, ma'am," asked Mahmud.
"I'm sorry, sir, if I was presumptuous to go ahead of you, because I did not bring Ustadz Ainul's Bpjs, I had to choose a public path" Humairo said, bowing.
"Yes, it's okay, ma'am, we use the public line so Ustadz Ainul is comfortable during treatment" said Mr. Mahmud with a smile.
"But, sir, I have no money at all" Humairo said in a soft tone.
Mr. Mahmud smiled and took Humairo to sit by the side of a small garden next to the guard post.
Mr. Mahmud took out a white paper package tied with rubber. Then he opened his bond.
"Mother should not worry, in addition to the salary as a caretaker of the mosque, Ustadz also has health benefits from the mosque. Here, the ten million mother's money is brought first for the needs of ustadz and mother while here, God willing, tomorrow, I will collect the dues from the congregation Ustadz," said Mr. Mahmud while giving money in his hand to Humairo.
"Again, I do not have to worry about the cost of Ustadz Ainul, God willing, a good person like him, his nutrition has been guaranteed by God. People love ustadz and they hope that Ustadz will recover quickly and be able to gather again in the mosque" said Mr. Mahmud. Humairo smiled.
"Thank you Sir,"
"Oh yes Ma'am, then, we leave first, God willing, tomorrow we come again. If you need a friend, tomorrow I'll have my son accompany you, Mommy,"
"No sir, God willing I can take care of Ustadz" Humairo said.
Mahmud then resigned.
"Come, ma'am, greetings to Ustadz" said Mahmud. He then took his friends in the car. Humairo was still standing staring at them the car was gone from his sight.
The night is late. The mood was quiet. Humairo was still sitting staring at Ainul who was still lying down. The infusion hose is already stuck on the back of his right hand. He was so good in his sleep. Humairo. He looked up at the AC above him. He then took out a blanket from his bag and stepped towards Ainul's bed. Slowly, he covered Ainul's thin body with the blanket.
Humairo. He looked back at Ainul's face. Sunken face and thin body. A very drastic change. What burden did Ainul think that his body was thin like that? his mind began to ask. People need weeks in pain when the condition of his body like that. Could it be all because of his attitude all this time that was very rude to Ainul?
If it were all for him, he would never forgive himself until Ainul died. Ainul must live. Ainul must return to his former ways. He will not return home from the clinic until Ainul is completely healed and healthy as before. He did not have the money to finance Ainul while in the hospital, but he had a house that he could sell if there was no other hope. For him now, his life is no longer meaningful without Ainul, although in the end he is no longer his wife Ainul.
"Mr Humairo,"
I heard a call from the side. A female officer stood outside the bed net next door. Humairo got up and walked over.
"Mother finish first the administration for the patient in the front room. Later, when it's done, I go to the next room," the officer said. Humairo nodded and immediately walked to the room he was showing. Two officers came and removed Ainul from his bed.
The sound of a wall clock rang out breaking the silence in the room. It's 3 p.m. After completing the administration in the cashier room, Humaio and several officers took Ainul to his treatment room.
