8. Riding the Hippocampus

Isla steps towards the rock. From that close distance, he could see the slippery body of the Hippocampus. But the unique back of the creature is quite rough and not wet. Isla could see Kai and Rex sitting comfortably.

"Sit in front of me!" said Kai.

"What?"

"I just don't want you to suddenly drift in there. Because riding the Hippocampus takes a little skill."

Without approval, Kai pulls Isla sitting in front of him. The girl could not resist, especially Kai now even embrace her from behind while both hands hold on to the mane of the beautiful creature.

After that it happened very quickly. A clear bubble appears and closes the back of the Hippocampus. Apparently it was used to protect its rider from breathing underwater.

After the bubble closed completely, the creature began to slowly move into the dark black lake. Isla held her breath as she felt the air begin to thin slightly. The light generated by the scales of the creature illuminates the inside of the lake which turns out to be full of human bones that are stacked and arranged to form a high hill.

Kai apparently realized Isla's fear. Sitting within such a close distance, Kai could feel his trembling body. No matter how tough the humans are, they will definitely shudder with the scenery that lies in that place.

Rex who was sitting at the back suddenly crept forward. He hears Kai's request to accompany Isla. Although the appearance is surprising, but Isla is much more open to Rex.

The journey in the dark lake was quite long. The hippocampus continues against the current, penetrating the darkness of the lake into the deepest parts. I don't know how deep the lake is, but it seems completely unfounded.

Isla surprised. "So you're saying, we're going through the ocean?"

Not long after, the hippocampus that continues to point down suddenly immediately swoops upwards. Isla only realized that they had just come out of the mouth of the cave and were now in the open ocean. Yet total darkness still enveloped as if they were within the deepest ocean.

"You better close your eyes!" kai's orders from behind.

"What's really going on? Why do you sound so scary?"

"Something we're going to pass by later might be interested in you. I'm sure you don't want to see them, even though on Earth they're described as beautiful and beautiful."

After Kai's speech ended, the Hippocampus' movements began to drip slightly. Moving to the right and to the left as if avoiding something. Kai swiftly caught the body of Isla who almost fell. The road that passed is now full of milestones - stone milestones that rise to the top. Not just one, but many. Isla wondered how deep the bottom of the sea is. How can this stone milestone grow so long?

Just then, a shadow appeared around the Hippocampus. Very fast and dark. Strange, shrill sounds have been heard since. Like the voice of someone who is fighting.

"What's that?" exclaim Isla.

Isla was speechless as her eyes looked at the group of female-bodied creatures but had a fish-like tail. Their bodies were entirely black with long claws and looked sharp like knives. But the most terrifying thing was their faces. His entire face was blackened with glowing red eyes. His human body parts were full of dark-colored scales. And those long clawed fingers have membranes.

Isla's imagination of beautiful and beautiful Mermaids was instantly lost, because in reality they were not as beautiful as described, it was actually very scary.

"Why do they see me like that?" isla asked as she watched the Mermaids crowding around while looking at her as if she was a prey.

"It's only natural that your existence as something foreign caught their attention. No witch had brought humans before. So, seeing you is like a victim to them" explains Kai.

"Then what will happen now? They're so many, how do we get past them?"

"Don't worry. No one will dare attack us as long as we are with the Hippocampus. Injuring this beautiful creature, it was the same as they were waiting for their own death."

"What do you mean?"

"Don't I tell you, don't hurt or offend the Hippocampus. Don't make the owner angry."

Isla understood what Kai said. Isla once read that the Hippocampus is related to Poseidon, the ruler of the oceans. But the problem was now, was it possible that the Hippocampus could penetrate this crowd of Mermaids numbering in the hundreds?

Isla's worries were answered when the Hippocampus continued to pierce through the crowd. Keep swimming up until the darkness that envelops begins to diminish. Over time the Mermaids stayed away while shrieking in anger. They hate the light from outside. They followed the Hippocampus only to the extent that light began to enter the ocean.

The horrible scenery down there is now replaced with a beautiful view of the real ocean. Isla is made stunned by marine plants called coral reefs, grow so much with different shapes and colors. Not to mention the flowers of unknown type growing all over the place.

Fish and other marine animals live so happily and peacefully. Seemed once calm and a quiet atmosphere was created. Even now they just passed the wreck of an ancient ship with cartoon treasures scattered around it.

"Is that real?" ask Isla.

"of course. But never think of taking it. Everything that falls into this sea belongs to Poseidon."

"Poseidon?"

Isla again enjoyed the amazing view. Now his eyes are presented by another plant that is slightly different. The plant has fruit and flowers. Isla saw the flower blooming quickly and immediately produced a pink fruit. Isla just found out there's such a fruit.

"I want to ask, where exactly are we going?"

"Agora Port. The place where witches come in and out of the other side of the world" Kai replied.

"So there's such a place in your country?"exclaim Isla."Then how about me, is it okay for you to take me there?"

"Of course it's problematic. I even broke the rules and had to be punished. But it doesn't matter now. Saving you from death is more important."

"What do you mean?" Isla mendelik. Kai gave a sharp look.

"I'll tell you, Isla. You're gonna die, if that heirloom gets taken out of your body."
