The Last Heirloom's
3. Isla, the Emrys Girl

Midnight when the atmosphere is getting quiet and quieter. The gray and white painted house is still brightly lit which indicates that the host body of the Emrys Heirloom is still awake. 

Kai and Rex watch the house from a distance. The two are now working out what they will do next after learning the heirloom is lodged in a girl's body. 

"I've studied cases like this. The girl was the second person after Queen Aria who could hold an heirloom shard on her body. He is 17 years old today. That was the reason why the new Emrys Heirloom signal could reveal itself. This case seems to be complicated and becomes a new task for us. Because to get that heirloom out of his body is impossible."

Kai who was hiding himself in a dense tree near the house could only give an annoyed facial expression. The task he carried was enough to make him feel burdened, and now he must be faced with an even more complicated case. 

The fragment of Emrys' heirloom that lives in the bodies of other living things has fused completely and cannot be separated. Because if the heirloom is forcibly removed, then the heirloom can lose power and the body of the host will also be destroyed and disappear. 

And if Kai does that, it's just like a killer. Kai will also fail to get the heirloom. This place was not in Amalthea, where he could use his magic abilities at will. There's nothing Kai can do unless he takes the girl to Amalthea. 

"I wonder why an ordinary Earth girl, could hold a shard of Emrys Heirloom. Don't you think this is weird? I wouldn't be surprised if we were in Amalthea. But this is on Earth, where no magic works in this place." 

"I'm also looking. But I think this is Hugo Lorelei's plan that we didn't expect. He used a forbidden spell so that the girl could hold the Emrys Heirloom. The reason is clear so that we do not easily get the heirloom. And it could buy him a long time until he could get out of the Black Cliff prison."

"But unfortunately I won't wait until he's free. If that happens, then our journey has been in vain all this time. So, what kind of evidence did you get about the girl?" 

Rex then changed her form into a young girl with long hair tied up by a horse. Using a white-gray school uniform, he even carried a cute bag that he was now doing matches to find a piece of paper containing information about the girl they were discussing. 

Out of nowhere he got the inspiration to turn his form into that, the current Kai did not even care. Usually he would nag at length if Rex changed his form into a figure of sorts. But thankfully this time she did not turn into a sexy woman who only wore a bikini.

"His name is Isla Larasati. He is 17 years old right today and he is still sitting on the bench of High School Level 2. The second of three children, but all of his family lived in different cities. This house is not his house, but his brother's. They call it Uncle, Aunt, but it could be Aunt, Om, Pakde, Bude.. "

"Can you explain something more important!" 

"Hmmm.. Okay. The point is this girl hitchhiked in this house because she was schooled by the owner of this house. But, his life did not seem to be really lucky. Because he was often treated badly both in this place and in his school." 

"So you're saying he's being bullied?"

Kai looked around and immediately went down silently as he convinced himself that there was no more activity in the house. 

"What do you want to do?" reprimand Rex from above with a whispering voice. Kai quickly disappears, making the magical cat disguised as the cute girl follow him. 

Kai stopped in front of Isla's window. It is very rude if a man peeks into a girl's room. But Kai just wants to see more clearly how the girl's life really is. The life of someone who might be involved events and a long journey with him someday. 

Kai uses his magic power to open a gap in the closed curtain. Inside there only shimmered the dim light coming from a lamp on the study table. The dark-haired girl was sleeping on the table with a stack of books still open. 

The room was also not spacious and full of piles of clothes that were neat as ironed out. Apparently he had finished doing heavy work to fall asleep while doing the task. 

Seeing that scene Kai immediately sighed and rushed back to close the window curtains. 

"Looks like a good girl" Rex said after he watched what Kai saw. But the young man did not reply and immediately left the place before any residents would catch him.

After that day, Rex's day-to-day duties oversee the life of the girl named Isla for a full 24 hours. While Kai still has to work and is taking care of his transfer from an office employee to a teacher. 

Yep. Kai had applied for the vacant position of a supervising teacher at the school where Isla was studying. There was no other way for Kai except that he also had to get inside the scope of the girl and approach her slowly. Kai didn't want to waste any more time. 

He had also sent a secret message to one of his brothers and said what had happened to the last shard of the Emrys. Kai did not want this news to spread and wanted to cope with himself as long as he could. But he needs advice and solutions on how he can get the Emrys Heirloom without hurting the girl. 

One thing Kai had in mind after knowing this phenomenon was that he had to tell Margus immediately. The potion expert who was also his own uncle but he lived estranged within the frontier forest. Margus can definitely help himself, finding a way that he can get the Emrys Heirloom out without having to sacrifice the girl's life. 

For three whole days, Rex observed the girl's life. Followed wherever he went even while at his school. It wasn't hard because Rex could make himself transparent. And the sight he saw made Rex even more compassionate with the girl's life. 

She is beautiful and smart, but her life is miserable because many people hate her. Rex reports all of his duties to Kai about Isla's life. The young man studied it seriously and began to devise a plan in his brain. Because tomorrow he has started working as a teacher at the school.
