Hell Games

Hell Games
Who're they?

Ten o'clock in the morning the 15th team was back on the move. They began to walk through the forest with the same formation as before. Their movement is getting faster even though Hell Game is only 2 days in the beginning. This is the fifth day they are in the forest, Lin, Maya and Hamish begin to adapt to the terrain they are on. Fatigue is rarely heard. Hamis also does not often whine about hunger. In addition they have to save money, backpacks have begun to be light. The food stock only stayed for one more meal.

“We will move towards the points on this map.” So Eph commanded shortly before they departed, pointing the map to their members. The point is 20 km from its current location and check point two is in a straight line 20 km from the point. They can definitely arrive in the ‘dot’ area before dark.

They are not familiar with the day, whether it is Monday, Tuesday or week all seem the same. There was no difference, all they knew was that this moment was just time. That's thanks to the army watches they got in the basecamp.

Maya moves agilely and begins to climb the steps, as Lin and Ef are only half down the slope. Since Lin was very independent, he could go down the slope or step over a large root without any help. Despite having just experienced an event that must have put mental pressure on him, Lin seemed completely ordinary. Even ‘somewhat carefree’ is more suitable to call Lin's current condition.

Radio Ef reads. Maya's voice sounded.

“I see four people under.”

“Sit's quiet in place and down. Wait for us to arrive.” After answering the radio, Ef sped up. Without being told Hamish and Lin to do something similar.

Ef crouched down next to Maya who had been laying on the hill since earlier. The girl pointed downwards and held out four fingers. Then pointed at the points that seemed to be the location of the four people hiding.

“Let me see!” Lin advanced next to Maya, went straight down and opened the cover of her rifle telescope. Ef was quite unnerved by Lin's initiative which moved without waiting for the command from him.

As the only member to have a weapon with a magnifying telescope. Lin felt at the moment he had to show a role in helping the team.

“A blonde guy on the left. Eleven o'clock,” said Lin without releasing the observation from the top of the rifle. Then Maya pointed in another direction. And Lin turned the muzzle of her rifle in the direction that Maya pointed. The two girls already looked like professional Snipers and Spotters. Just sit down and receive a report.

“Three people are at one point in the 2 o'clock direction. Two men and one woman. They all looked down, like they were hiding from something.”

“Try combing their front area!”

Hamish, who had been leaning against a tree, turned to Ef

“Eat what they were. Why so excited?”

“Not those who are excited, you who are too relaxed.” Ef walks over to Hamish, but his gaze still watches over the two women who are monitoring. “I have an example of participant necklace. Can you learn how to disassemble this necklace?” Ef lowered his backpack and opened it slightly to show Hamish.

“How did you get this thing, Capt? This is not yours!” Hamish whispered. They did not want the chatter just heard by Lin and Maya.

“I took this necklace from the body of the participant,” Ef said without telling her the real incident. “You ever unpack electronic objects?”

“Yes, it was one of my pent-up talents since childhood. I like to break things down, even though I can't reassemble them more often. Hehehe” Hamish grinning horse.

“Tak problems. The important thing is we should be able to see the contents in this necklace.” Of course by dismantling the necklace, Ef hopes to find a gap to release the necklace that is coiled around their necks.

“Time is active?”

“Already, the indicator light is blue. The owner of this necklace has passed the check point one.”

“You're unloading now? But we don't have the.” tool

Lin looked back, smiled for a while, then refocused on his task.

“I can't see anything. But there's a sparkle of a tree branch in the corner there. Like light reflection.”

When he realized something, he looked at the sun. Luckily the sun was behind them. So similar reflections did not occur in Lin's telescope.

“Let me see.”

Lin rose from his position giving room for Ef to take over. Lin directed Ef to observe the reflection point he was referring to.

“True it's like mirror reflection.” Ef rotates the telescope magnification to the maximum to get closer imaging. “No people. This means that the light is not coming from a telescope. And there can't be anyone who puts a mirror on a tree.”

“It could be the camera that was on display during the opening event,” Maya chirps.

Right, it could be a surveillance camera.

Ef focused his gaze more and more to see the object that reflects the light earlier. But he still didn't see anything.

A movement below makes Ef's attention distracted. He saw someone moving among the trees. Like four people who were at the bottom hiding from the person who was opposite them.

Feeling their position was safe, Ef handed back the monitoring task to Lin and Maya. He looked at the trees near them. Look for things that might be attached.

“Amati twigs that allow them to put a monitoring camera!” Ef gave instructions to Hamish.

For a long time Eph looked up to observe each branch, but his eyes had not seen the thing they were looking for.

“I wish I would create content in the open. I won't put the camera away from the object.” Hamish spoke to himself while massaging his sore neck.

“So where is the ideal position to install the camera do you think?”

“Here!” Hamish pointed at his forehead. Then chuckled amusedly with his own joke. It didn't matter if Ef just looked at her with a flat look.

The sudden barrage of gunfire made Ef and Hamish reflexively subdue the body. More and more gunshots were heard below. The group that turned their backs opened fire and got a reply from the direction of the trees opposite them.

“Ef, here!” Maya half-cries out to Ef. Lin was still aiming seriously.

“Say Lin, the person behind the tree looks like a soldier. Movement is like you.”

Ef narrowed his eyes trying to look in the direction Lin pointed at even though he could not see anything. But Maya's report was confirmed by the sound of the gunfire they released. The party across the tree opened fire occasionally. And when the shot occurred, there was movement from the other direction. They're doing diversion shots. Only people who were familiar with weapons were well versed with this technique.

“Hey, I can see it. He hid behind that big rock.” Lin paused for a bit then returned to observing through the telescope.

“He doesn't wear a necklace like us!”
