Hell Games
A beauty

This morning it was quite cold, the sun was just peeking behind the black clouds in the eastern horizon. The leaves are still dripping from the ends of the leaves. Under normal conditions most people will go back to hiding under the covers until the air begins to warm up. But that doesn't apply to team 15. They were prepared, each with a logistic backpack and a weapon clasped tightly in their hands.

“We pray first.” Ef led a prayer for his team, all the members bowing their heads. Hope the help of the heavens will help and give salvation.

“We leave, keep the formation.” Maya walks ahead, after Hamish, then Lin. Ef runs the very back. The inverted formation with the power of being at the very back was the most suitable for the survival strategy. If any enemies see their movements, Maya with an attractive look and acting skills can be useful to divert the concentration of the opponent. Giving time for Hamish to make close shots, because his Shot Gun is only effective for close range. Lin who has a long-range attacking character does have to be at the back, to get the ideal distance to shoot. The weakness of the sniper is the rear area, therefore Ef is in the rearmost position.

As Ef and Hamish set off to release the mines they had set up in several places, the hand grenades were still very much needed. It is free if left behind.

“We will walk north for four kilometers, if our journey is smooth, before noon we have reached there.” Ef gave the team directions while reading the map.

“How can we know north direction, we don't have compass?” ask Maya. He who is at the front must clearly understand the direction.

“You see the young grass that is just growing, the plants tend to grow leaning towards the sunrise. That way you will know the east position, and can determine the north direction.” This basic knowledge did seem easy to Ef, he was trained from a young age. As for the other three members who do not have a survival basis, it is certainly still confusing.

The sound of a small twig being stepped on into the voice of an escort. Since there was no conversation as long as they walked, it was obvious that everyone was nervous and frightened.

When encountering an extream field, such as a high cliff or a rather deep ravine, all members will hide first, and Ef goes forward to check the situation. After making sure it was safe, then he returned to pick up his team.

If measured from a real combat team, their journey was like a snail. Very slow. Every two hours they stopped to rest, because Hamish often complained. The short and fat man was very hungry and thirsty. His drinking supply was up, Lin was forced to split his drinking rations because Maya refused to share.

The target to arrive at the check point location before noon had to pause, it was already at half-three but they had not yet arrived.

“Still a long time?” Hamish held his knees so that he could still bear the weight of the body.

“Based on this map should be up ahead there. Not to one more kilometer.” Ef reopened the map from his pocket.

“Come on, don't crybaby. The time you lost to us,” taunted Maya. He looked so annoyed with Hamish who often complained.

“You're good at talking, walking with your light body. I have to carry a load of 100 kilograms in addition to this backpack and weapon.” Hamish debated Maya's taunts.

“Already, we walk again, at most only thirty minutes left.” Ef mediates his team's quarrel.

They're moving back through the wilderness. Several times they found tropical fruit trees, enough to be a spirit enhancer.

The vegetables sounded quite loud water.

“That's like the sound of a waterfall!” Maya looks towards Ef. Request advice.

“Next walk. Stay alert!”

Team 15 continued walking, the more their steps grew, the louder the thump was heard. Up ahead there looked brighter, a tall large tree looming at the end there like it was shining as the sunlight shone from behind it. The tree is like the exit of this forest day.

They have to climb up the road until they arrive at the base of the tree. The tree must have been very old, had the four of them hugged the tree with clutched hands, would not have been able to circle it.

Sure enough, at the end there was a building like a lighthouse. Ef equates to the map, it seems like it is a check of the points they are aiming for.

Their happy smiles soon disappeared as they moved closer. If drawn in a straight line, the distance from them standing to the lighthouse was approximately three hundred meters. But a very deep abyss became their barrier, there was also no bridge to cross it.

“How about this, capt?” Hamish looked at Ef.

Ef observing the conditions around them, he also looked up to see the bottom of the abyss. It was too dark, nothing. To their right there is also a waterfall that does not appear to be the end. Only the sound of water was heard. Potential there is a big river with strong currents down there.

“It looks like we should rotate. No other way.”

“Day is already afternoon, will we continue to walk until night?” maya protests.

“No, we will just walk for a while while looking for a place to rest. We're moving towards the waterfall. Usually behind it there is a gap, we rest there.”

An hour later, they arrived. The waterfall is connected to a large rocky river. Clear and fresh water in front of the eyes must tempt anyone to plunge and swim with joy. Especially after sweating all day.

“We open the tent on the river bank alone?” Maya was already squatting by the river while washing her face.

“No, too open. You guys wait behind that tree. I'll check down.”

Ef descends from the side of the river and towards the base of the waterfall. The area was downhill and a large rocky. He had to be extra careful not to slip from the moss-filled rocks.

Within fifteen minutes Ef had returned to see his companion, his body seemed full of clay.

“The gap there is quite roomy and dry. We rest there.”

The 15-team journey to get off was easier, as Ef had prepared emergency staircases from the branches of the trees as a foothold. It's not so hard for them to get there.

The gap was huge, and dry. The waterfall becomes like a one-sided translucent curtain. They could see out while from the outside could not see into the gap. At the end there is an old spring that forms a small pool that can function as a bathroom. It is like finding a hotel shaped by nature.

Lin raised his hand, letting the water droplets wet his palm. He walked up to the girl.

“Very good. We are lucky to find this place,” Lin said as Ed stood by his side.

“You like?”

Lin replied to Ef's question with a nod and a sweet smile.

“Hey see this!” Maya yells making Lin and Ef turn their heads towards her.

Seeing things that were near Maya, making Ef back on alert.
