The evacuation process continues with various assistance tools available. Unaffected residents also helped in various ways such as setting up a soup kitchen for refugees, donating urgent needs such as clothing and so on.
Aid from other countries also came. News seekers also descended on Aceh. From national media to international. From the coverage of the news search crew that made a big soccer star named Ronaldo medatangi Aceh to meet with children who survived the tsunami because it was stuck with mangrove sticks.
When evacuated, the boy known as Martunis was wearing a soccer shirt with the name Ronaldo on his back. Not only Ronaldo, several other famous artists also came to Aceh.
The bodies are being found more and more days. The shape has also changed, plus the hot tsunami water certainly faster to make the bodies damaged. The stench had already begun to be smelled by the senses. Body bags became the most needed need in addition to drugs at that time because of the number of bodies found. Most of the bodies are unknown or identified. Except, the families who are looking for have special characteristics that facilitate the search process.
Not infrequently, families give up when they see the many piles of body bags that are ready to be buried without a shroud. Some places were chosen by the Aceh government to be the place of mass graves of tsunami victims. The empty soil was dug using a tool to make a hole. no one arranged to address the qibla or head and feet should be directed where. As if racing against time, they buried the bodies like burying chickens.
Human power is not enough to bury all the bodies. They are exhausted in finding and evacuating bodies or survivors who are hit by recruitment or squeezed by debris.
“Assalamualaikum, Sir. Do you know Abu who has this shophouse?”
“Walaikumsalam, oh Mae? Yes, I know but I don't know where he is now.”
“If A-grey, do you know?” asked Rendra hesitatingly.
“Abu and his family are no longer living in a shophouse. They live in the Lamkot area and the area is already flat with the ground.”
“Lamkot is where, Sir?”
The man dressed in a striped suit continued to look like a possessed person. As if not tired. He continued to search, removing the debris before his eyes. After looking at the market area where he had met Abu, he now turned to the area around where Abu lived named Lamkot. Rendra felt for himself what people were feeling right now. When the spirit to look for people we know is not balanced with the energy we have. Rendra continued searching even to check the plastic of the corpse was already impossible he did.
Too much and he is also unlikely to recognize the face again after a few days post-occurrence. Earthquake and Tsunami became a disaster and also extraordinary wisdom for the people of Aceh. At the time of the tsunami disaster only swept the coastal region of Aceh, but the great wisdom he brought was able to heal the wounds of all Acehnese people who were still in a state of conflict. The two sides agreed to make peace after a major disaster devastated nearly half the country.
After hundreds of thousands of lives lost due to the tsunami, it was finally able to tear down the selfishness of both sides of the conflict. Throughout the disaster, there was no more gun contact between government forces and insurgents. The soldiers themselves are focused on volunteering in the search process as well as survivors who are still alive or dead.
The names of missing people are growing and are on display in every refugee tent.
The children in the photo were then affixed to the entire refugee tent. Pek Cek Amir with Mae also began searching every investigation tent. Mak Cek Amir who originally wanted to come because he did not want to be left could only resign because it was impossible to walk far and then had to bring Iskandar who was still a baby. Faris the boy is assigned to look after his mother, sister and nephew.
“Where should we look for them, Mr Cheque? Some of the bodies have even been buried.”
“Checker is also confused about where to look? Oh Allah, help us.”
Mae could only look down with tears in her eyes. He could not imagine losing his family. Families who have been taking good care of him even without blood ties to him.
“That is strong, keep praying while trying to find them. Come on, let's find them in the refugee camps and the hospitals. We can't open that body bag anymore.”
Pak Cek tried to strengthen Mae who looked very sad when he saw a pile of bodies not far from the settlement of Abu. Every day after breakfast provided in the refugee tent in the form of rice and instant noodles. The two immediately went to look for Abu and other relatives in the hope that they were still alive even though the possibility was small.
However, the many stories beyond reason that they heard from the survivors made their spirits grow again.
“When I was brought water, I felt like something was pulling onto the coconut stem. Until finally I realized awake and looked down if I was on top of a coconut tree.” said one of the refugees.
“I met a gallon of empty water, so I held on to it.”
“There were grandparents who invited me to run during the earthquake. The grandfather said that in a moment it would be the end. For fear of seeing such a great earthquake. I just followed the grandfather and now, I'm losing him. If only, I had not heard and followed him, maybe now I would also be a corpse.”
“Nobody knows what miracle will help us. Only God has all the plans so we must remain eager to find them.who knows, the miracle also approached Abu and our other families.” Pak Cek Amir is trying to strengthen Mea.
“Masjid Raya is a real example if Allah has given his miracle by protecting the mosque from the water of hell. I on the second floor of the shophouse saw for myself how a large white figure directed the water so as not to enter the mosque like a parking attendant. You may not believe what I see, but this is the truth. I am Chinese but that day I saw for myself the miracle of your god.”
All eyes stared at the testimony of the ethnic Chinese youth who had shophouses right in front of the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque where some of his ethnicity took shelter there and thank God they survived.
