CUTS
Beggars...

Rendra took the rice pack with a slight nod of his head. Then he went back to look for Abu's shophouse. Not far from the coffee shop, shophouse Abu is immediately seen with a distinctive Mae voice while serving customers.

Rendra immediately sat there and opened the rice package that he had received. “Waduh, this person early in the morning already got rice wrap. I was yelling at cake five, boiled eggs two and a cup of coffee. So want rice wrap as well.” Mae told herself.

“Mae...” reprimand Abu.

“Cabai murai...lowang cheap...ayo mother....ibu....before running out.” shouted Mae back.

Rendra savored the rice wrapper voraciously until it burped hard enough that made Mae glance at him with an annoyed look. Seeing the number of customers, Rendra chose to wait there by pretending to fall asleep by laying his body against the wall of the shop.

“Ending sleep, snake-like.”

“Mae..” Abu again rebuked Mae.

“Abu tell me to sleep in the terminal only! Don't be here, bother us.” Pinta Mae who was ignored by Abu.

“Leave it.” replied Abu.

Eight to twelve hours is the time of the market again crowded. Rendra was still waiting for a conducive situation so that he could talk to Abu. After waiting for quite a long time, the awaited time came as well. Lunch time has come. Umi had already lowered the food for Abu and Mae down. There is also Rendra who came down to follow his grandmother.

“Rendra, be careful!” mae shouted as usual.

There was a sense of pity when Umi saw the beggar who was still sitting in his courtyard. “Mae, take another plate yes!” pinta Umi who again made Mae kelen the same beggar.

Then, Abu took the plate that was supposed to be for Mae and put the rice and side dishes.

“This, eat!” Ash handed a plate of rice to the beggar.

Some soldiers who were sitting not far from Abu's shophouse could only sigh as they glanced at each other.

After finishing his meal, Rendra pretended to want to go to the WC with a hand gesture that held the buttocks. As if understanding the sign language, Abu took the beggar to the back.

“Abu!” call Rendra when they are in front of the toilet at the back of the shophouse.

“This is me, Rendra.” Abu was surprised as well as not believing the appearance of the man in front of him. Unknowingly, Abu's eyes moved from top to bottom. The reaction made Rendra smile amusedly.

“If rejected so this daughter-in-law must be because of the appearance.” Inner Rendra.

“I want to talk to Abu, but if you can not here.”

“Turn me to the mental hospital at 8 am. We can meet there. And wear regular clothes, do not like this or official clothes.”

“Then I say goodbye first, Assalamualaikum.” Rendra reached out his hand, but Abu's face seemed hesitant to accept Rendra's helping hand let alone he had scratched his entire body that was not itchy in front of Abu.

Rendra pulled his hand back a little clumsy and then he came out of Abu's shophouse and came back to act like a beggar.

After Rendra disappeared from the market, the soldiers who had been there from morning began to disperse carefully without arousing suspicion of the citizens.

This is where Rendra now after passing through the vast sea, fighting with fear, holding shame by being a beggar for the sake of meeting the lover of the heart.

Long enough Rendra talked with Abu and his family then with the doctor and then the psychiatrist until it did not feel the day was near noon. Abu let Rendra to see Cut. Doctors and psychiatrists with Abu's family stood not far from Rendra's place to see how Cut reacted when he saw Rendra.

“Asoka, keep flowering yes! I will always keep your flowers from being picked.” Cut spoke to the flower he planted a few months ago.

“The color is very beautiful, does she also smell?” tanya Rendra started to approach Cut.

“Oh yes? Must be a lot of beetles coming to suck the sari. Have you ever tasted the juice?” ask Rendra back.

“I don't see beetles here. You wanna try tasting the sari? But baby, you should be back by morning. The only thing is there in the morning. If it's noon this way the filter is already dry exposed to the sun.”

“Can I come again tomorrow?”

“Please. Everyone here is fine. You must love being here.”

“Iya, if only every day I could come here. I'll be very happy. What's your name?”

“Cut.”

“Cut Zulaikha.” Connect Cut back.

“You don't want to know my name?”

“Whose name are you?”

“Rendra.” Suddenly Cut turned his face towards Rendra.

“Can we shake hands?’ asked Rendra back while extending his hand.

Cut looked at Rendra's hand in silence. Sometimes he also looked at the face of Rendra who was smiling at him. Then Cut's gaze descended on Rendra's chest.

“Do you still remember me?”

“This shirt?” point Cut.

Rendra accidentally wears the clothes in the photo that he used to give to Cut. “Do you not want to shake hands with me?” ask Rendra back.

Cut panicked a little and then retreated and he immediately ran into the hospital building. Rendra was about to chase after him however, a gesture from the doctor made him have to hold back.

“How, Doctor?” ask Rendra restlessly.

“We must wait for his reaction to the extent of the desire to remember or forget you. Everyone must be patient in facing their conducive. All depends on his desire to accept or reject anything related to difficult times first.”

“As Abu said earlier. Forget what happened between you. The current state of Cut is uncertain and the answer you expect is definitely not going to get. Don't waste time just waiting for Cut. Find another girl on the island of Java. Forget Cut, live happily.”

“Nobody knows for sure when a major depression sufferer like Cut will make a full recovery like he used to. All depends on the situation and condition of treatment and therapy he lived.” Obviously doctor.

That day, Rendra spent until the afternoon only to see Cut from afar. Meanwhile, Abu and his family have returned once the time of Zuhr.

“Do you love her so much?”

“More than just love.”

“Means you're ready to wait for him?” Rendra did not answer, his gaze continued to the front where Cut was busy watering plants in the afternoon.

“It looks like you have to fight more to conquer all obstacles. That's also if you can. It is not my intention to underestimate you. But reality sometimes does not go along with expectations. Happy fighting!”
