Doctor Merlyn...

It is common knowledge if the Indonesian people are notoriously friendly and warm. Likewise with the soldiers who represent Indonesia in humanitarian missions in war areas. The refugees of war corps both children and women were seen to easily interact with soldiers from Indonesia. Either the ability came from within each soldier or something formed before they were assigned. Most importantly they always managed to protect every child there. The same thing happened with Anugrah. The refugees interacted using sign language because they did not understand English or any other language.

“You look comfortable hanging out with them, A.” said one of the soldiers.

Anugrah smiled as he kicked the ball back towards the goal. Arriving there, Anugrah seemed out of control. He never ceases to play with the children there to make his friends amazed to see his behavior.

Some women entered complete with their white coats. “Currently routine check.” Say one of them in English. Someone called Anugrah to enter the tent. The shirt she used was already wet with sweat especially the area where they were assigned was the hot area.

Anugrah smiled then sat down in front of one of the doctors for a blood sample. Those who serve in war zones will routinely get health checks by doctors under the auspices of the United Nations.

“Salam know! I'm Merlyn. We just arrived yesterday.” He said after taking a blood sample from Anugrah.

Ahem…

Some of the soldiers gathered there exchanged lyrics while smiling to see one of the female doctors there extend her hand to Anugrah.

“Single mah free,” celtuk one of prajut.

“You can call me, A”

“Very short, is that your pseudonym?”

“My name is Anugrah and you can call me A, like the others.”

“OK, A. See you.”

After the departure of the doctor, the soldiers immediately continued their temptation to the Anugrah. “Who said Singles are free? Isn't it here we're all single?” sindir Anugrah raised her eyebrows.

The civil service officers will visit one of the villages in the war zone today. They will take the villagers to refugee camps set up by the United Nations. Trucks carrying troops were taken by several artillery pieces as well as heavily armed escort cars. Anugrah sat down with the medics who were included in this mission. A white truck with a red cross emblem. Anugrah is equipped with an AK 47 weapon in his hand.

Anugrah knew that a pair of eyes were staring at her but she focused on looking out. His physique was no longer perfect but his instincts and eyes were still perfect like before. Sometimes he looked outside to see the situation. The soul of the army is still strong in him even though he has never plunged into battle for a long time.

“Arah at 10, be alert!” he said on their communications channel.

A car was speeding up from 10 o'clock. The distance is still quite far but still they need to be vigilant. This is a war country, attacks can happen anytime and anywhere. Within four minutes, a missile managed to detonate an empty truck that would be used to transport villagers.

The doctors were starting to get scared. The car stopped and returned fire. They got out of the truck and got down on the road. The soldiers swiftly attacked behind the car which turned out to be in it there were several herds of rebels with full weapons.

Anugrah approached the burning truck to find the driver. The truck driver was thrown outside but his condition was not very good. Anugrah again crept between the bullets to ask the doctor to save but unfortunately the firing contact was getting fiercer until the sound of explosions reappeared and this time hit the car that was driven by the soldiers.

Anugrah glanced at the calm looking medical personnel on the sand. They were already equipped first before being sent to the war zone.

“Blow up their car!”

And the sound of explosions happened again. A soldier managed to blow up the car and a barrage of sound bedil still mutually unpretentious until finally the rebels were found dead with a condition badly shot.

Anugrah helped the media officers to treat some of the wounded soldiers who were hit by gunfire and explosions. Doctor Merlyn was quick to help. All the wounded were put in trucks and medics were quick to treat them.

They are doctors with a tough, fearless soul. It's not easy to be a medic at this UN humanitarian mission. They had to complete a very strict entrance test to pocket the task permit.

“Alcohol!”

Merlyn's doctor washed all his tools and performed an impromptu surgery to retrieve a bullet in a soldier's chest. He was young enough to do the job. A helicopter came to pick up the wounded soldiers. Some of the replacement soldiers had descended first from the heli and then changed with the wounded soldiers. They continued their journey to the destination village. On top of them were helis who were monitoring their journey to avoid such an attack.

Anugrah glanced at Merlyn's doctor at a glance. The doctor was leaning against the wall of the truck. He looked tired but this was the risk of becoming a medic in a war zone.

“Doctor is fine?”

Their trip finally arrived there, “Wear masks and gloves!” before visiting the village, the medical team has already checked the blood of every refugee and the thing that really surprises them is that many of the women and children there are suffering from HIV due to frequent rapes committed by the refugees rebels against women. Children born are mostly the result of rape itself, so it is not uncommon for them to also be affected by the disease brought by the rebels.

“Use this!” doctor Merlyn's Pinta on Anugrah. You'll be sitting in the same truck as us.

“Thank you!” Anugrah wore a medical mask and then returned to the truck carrying villagers who had been trapped in fear. Other villagers were already secured by UN soldiers. Their village is a village located in a black zone where many rebels often live there because it is quite far from reach.

After inspecting all the places and being declared clean, the motorcade returned to walk away from the village. There was no smile emanating from the faces of the women of the villagers. They dissolve in each other's minds. Years of living in war as if they were used to all the treatment received so far. They were spun by every different man mercilessly. Children are born without knowing which is their father. Their lives are not like slaves.

If when leaving the condition of the truck is still empty and they can sit a little away but different from the current. The truck was packed with villagers and another truck was destroyed by a missile attack. Now they had to squabble until the position of Doctor Merlyn was so with the Grace. It was as if nature gave her blessing to them even in unusual circumstances.

“If there were no weapons maybe war would never exist in this world.” Said Doctor Merlyn.

“If there were no weapons then the Doctor wouldn't be here with a syringe and a scalpel.” Anugrah's reply made Doctor Merlyn smile behind her mask.

“And we won't meet.” The eyes of both of them were squaring.

“Yes, without war we will not meet.” Rework Anugrah.

Taps…

A drop of blood came out from between the hair of Anugrah. Merlyn's doctor immediately examined the nearby man's head without warning.

“You're hurt.”

“Only small wound.”

Merlyn's doctor did not answer, his hand deftly cleaned the blood with gauze then gave the medicine and gave the plaseter that had been given medicine there. “There's another wound?”

“Angrah shook his head!”

The journey went so long that the sky began to darken. Anugrah looked at the stars scattered beautifully. For a moment his mind drifted far into the land of water. Suddenly the figure of Wulan flashed across his head made Anugrah sigh.

“So far what else do I have to go to forget you?”

“You missed someone?” doctor Merlyn's question made Anugrah smile looking at the doctor's bead in the moonlight.

“My family is in Indonesia. Of course I miss them. What about Doctor?”

“I'm running from disappointment”

“What disappointment does not come to you here?” Doctor Merlyn smiled, “He lags far behind in the pacific ocean.”

“You are single or in a relationship?” Anugrah smiled bitterly then shook her head slowly and looked back at the sky.

They fell silent to each other. Most of the refugees, most of whom were children, were asleep. After a long journey of tension, we finally reached the refugee camp. Medical volunteers and soldiers helped the refugees down and recorded them one by one. The medics also took blood samples from each newly arrived refugee. Then those who have been recorded will follow the officers to be directed to another refugee camp where they will live.

“Wait!” Doctor Merlyn blocked Anugrah's arm.

“Please come with me!”

Inevitably Anugrah followed the doctor and was taken to the examination room. “I open or you open by yourself?”

“Hah?”
