Jarvis.
Whereabouts?
Why isn't my phone picking up?
Lindsey's.
I'm at the firm.
Jarvis.
I'll pick. I happened to go home through the firm.
Lindsey's.
Alright.
“Turnback. We're through the law firm GDP only.” Jarvis ordered Carlos to turn around and change the route home. Though arguably less than 1 kilometer more they will arrive at the hotel. It turned out that it was not a coincidence that Jarvis came home through the firm, but on a deliberate basis.
...****************...
“Kapt, I'll be home with Jarvis. No need to pick me up.” Lindsey said on the phone while tidying up her desk.
“Do not stay. There's something we should discuss.” reply Captain.
“Good. I'm going home to headquarters.” Lindsey said.
“Do not until Jarvis and Carlos know about the whereabouts of our headquarters house.” replied the Captain.
“OK.”
Lindsey ended her call and went down to the lobby to wait for Jarvis. After Jarvis' car arrived, Lindsey got into it.
“Hai, Lindsey. You to the hotel too?” ask Carlos.
“I'm not staying at the hotel. You can take me home. My house in the Great Village.” housing Lindsey told Carlos.
Jarvis looked at Lindsey in confusion. All she wanted was for Lindsey to come with her to the hotel.
“I haven't had dinner.” Jarvis said. The code was so pronounced in Lindsey's ears.
“Really? Carlos, after driving me home, take your boss to dinner yes.” Lindsey told Carlos.
Jarvis breathed a long breath. The cause is Lindsey. Jarvis was still trying to contain his frustration, but he wanted to overflow and storm Lindsey's lips.
“Oh, yes. Tomorrow night I'm having JM Buildings' 10th birthday party. This is an invitation for you.” Jarvis said as he gave an invitation.
“Wah..” Lindsey accepted the invitation with a bright face.
“When I could have come without an invitation, right I pa—” Lindsey almost fell flat saying that he was Jarvis' girlfriend. Instantly he regained his senses and shut his mouth tightly.
Jarvis smiled broadly. He could not show the pleasure that at that time saw Lindsey almost slipped. Lindsey was the one who most vehemently covered their relationship.
“—Partner in the legal field JM Buildings.” Lindsey continued.
“What Katie also came?” ask Lindsey.
“Of course. He is already part of JM Buildings.” Jarvis replied.
“Seeing her own bosses once accepted Katie's presence at JM Buildings, it looks like today Katie is working well.” Lindsey replied.
“Of course.” says Jarvis.
“Working well, what. He can't do anything without me.” Carlos said.
“Is that so? I see you still don't get along with Katie. Is it because he lied to you on a blind date?” ask Lindsey.
“Not! Not because of that! I'm obviously glad he didn't attend that blind date and I instead met you.” Carlos replied.
“How about I forbid you guys to go on a blind date? It's the most ridiculous thing in the world. Talking about it also cannot be. I'm sick of hearing it.” Jarvis said.
“Mr Jarvis, have you ever dated in your life?” ask Lindsey.
“Wah.. often.” replied Carlos.
“Really? How many times?” ask Lindsey. Lindsey's question turned into an introductory one.
“Be careful with your mouth, Carlos. Every word that comes out of your mouth will reduce every pay sheet.” Jarvis replied.
“Luckily I got the pay transferred.” said Carlos.
“Don't trust him, Lindsey. I never even had a relationship with anyone.” Jarvis replied.
“Yes, that's right. Jarvis is very introverted and rigid. No woman is at home even though her wealth is abundant. Because women also need comfort.” said Carlos.
“Do you have no intention of being in a relationship with a woman? Or maybe.. You are not interested in women?” ask Lindsey.
Lindsey was great at angling Jarvis. He had no idea how much anger was stored in Jarvis' chest.
“Lindsey, don't talk like that. I'm getting goosebumps. I am with him every day.” Carlos said.
“For now I am not interested.” Jarvis replied with patience.
“Why? You're not going to be single forever, are you?” ask Lindsey.
“There is a heart I must guard.” replied Jarvis.
“Oohh.” For the first time Lindsey didn't say much. Jarvis managed to check on Lindsey after thousands of questions were thrown at him.
“Omong empty. Whose heart? You are not interested in women. Just confess.” says Carlos.
“Hmm, Carlos, you drop me off in front of that minimarket only. There's something I have to buy.” Lindsey said.
Carlos pulled the car over.
“Thank you.” Lindsey got out of the car.
“I also want to buy something for the purposes at the hotel. Wait here.” said Jarvis then followed Lindsey down from the car and into the minimarket.
“Why down?” ask Lindsey.
“Why not to hotel?” asked Jarvis without answering Lindsey's question.
“I can fall poor if stay in hotel every day.” replied Lindsey.
“Who said? Can stay in my hotel.” reply Jarvis.
“Carlos can be suspicious.” Lindsey said.
“Why are you only thinking about Carlos? You don't think of me?” ask Jarvis.
“Not so. Today I am very tired, Jarvis.” replied Lindsey.
“It seems you misunderstood. I didn't ask you to the hotel to fuck.” Jarvis replied.
“Lantas? What am I going to the hotel for?” ask Lindsey.
“Did you forget I told you I couldn't sleep without you beside me?” reply Jarvis.
Lindsey remained silent.
“So all this time you never took my words seriously, huh?” ask Jarvis.
“Good. Even though you have never taken my words seriously, hasn't our relationship changed? No longer just a partner making love, right?” connect Jarvis.
“Iya, I know. But I can't accompany you to the hotel. My work is piling up, Jarvis.” Lindsey said.
“Alright, I understand. Then, I go home.” reply Jarvis then walk out of minimarket.
“Where's your groceries?” carlos asked when Jarvis got back in the car.
“In this place does not sell the brand I used to wear. We go to the hotel.” replied Jarvis.
After picking up a few packs of canned snacks and drinks, Lindsey went to the cashier to pay for her groceries.
“Total is 238,000 and already paid by the man earlier. Here is the change 262,000.” said the cashier.
Huh huh? Jarvis paid for it? inner Lindsey.
Lindsey came out of the minimarket with a plastic bag containing her groceries. He walked back home not far away. Her other hand pulled out the phone from inside the bag and typed something.
