The Atmosphere of Dinner

Hearing the name Anne reflexively averted her gaze and instantly her heart beat rapidly seeing the face of someone she deeply loved for over 300 years had not met since her death.

All of her family stood up and Anne who noticed it also stood up to bow her head to pay her respects.

" Welcome, the Emperor, it is an honor to be able to host you and the Princess tonight" the Count greeted Emperor Alarick kindly.

Emperor Abraxas caught a glimpse of Princess Maria before looking down on the Count.

" Thank you for the welcome as her spending time here doesn't hurt. I had to comfort Princess Mary after the death of Queen Catherine a month ago" Abraxas said at length as his eyes caught a glimpse of Annelise.

" I am deeply saddened by the death of the Queen of all empires to mourn the death of our precious Queen" the Count said with a sad face.

Annelise, who was standing next to Annete, only saw her father before looking down again without realizing that Emperor Abraxas was watching her.

" My daughter you must greet the Count's family." asked Abraxas to Princess Maria.

Princess Maria nodded her head before looking down and taking both sides of her dress bowed.

" Good evening Count Von de Ramos' family thanks for the dinner invitation" Maria said with a faint smile.

" Of course the Princess is our duty. So let's sit in a chair" said the Countess told the Princess Mary to sit down.

Annelise who had been watching him since just now was silent. Looking at Princess Maria he felt a sense of guilt given what he was doing trying to distance his relationship with the Emperor before Tania came to fix it.

Throughout the dinner Annelise just lowered her head as she realized that Emperor Abraxas kept looking at her made her a little uncomfortable.

Emperor Abraxas knew that Annelise was not at all comfortable with his presence. But he just silenced it not long after he heard the sound of the chair making him lift his head.

" I'm sorry for interrupting your dinner. I only asked permission to return to my room because I was not well" Anne continued to try to ignore Emperor Abraxas.

The Count and Countess who heard him were silent they glanced at each other. Remembering was forbidden to speak before the Emperor began. Seeing everyone silent finally made Emperor Abraxas speak up.

" Please Lady you may return to your room, and I apologize for making you feel uncomfortable" Abraxas said.

Annelise who heard it only smiled stiffly before then bowed respectfully.

" Thank you, Your Majesty, then excuse me father, mother, sister, and also Princess Mary" Anne said before stepping her feet out of the dining room.

Upon seeing Annelise go the atmosphere became even more awkward before then Emperor Abraxas stood up from his chair.

" Thank you for the delicious dinner I had to go back. Come Mary." said Abraxas invite Mary to the room provided.

" All right, Your Majesty. My daughter Annete will show you the way to your room" the Count told his eldest son to show the way to Emperor Abraxas.

While on the other side Annelise walked quickly into her room and when it entered the door she immediately closed while leaning behind her.

" Why do we meet again....
