THE SECRET (The Power Of Love Conquers All)

THE SECRET (The Power Of Love Conquers All)
CHAPTRE 6

A beautiful woman waited at the door of her house impatiently. Of course Ledy Jacelyn Elizabeth had already gotten the good news she was waiting for this before.

Two days ago, her cousin's sister, gave her important information that Jacelyn had been waiting for a long time.

The cousin saw that four Stewart Kingdom knights were not far from the border, who might soon arrive in Northumbria Kingdom for about two weeks. Her cousin was not there by chance, and she had been instructed by Aunt Olivia to tell Jacelyn this happy news.

Jacelyn did not have much time to prepare herself. Ever since she heard the news that Ainsley Callista was pregnant, she had packed almost everything in her closet. And all the gifts that Jacelyn had prepared for her friend and prospective baby.

The time that Ainsley Callista chose was really very precise. Jacelyn was at her mother's house for six months when she received the message.

Jacelyn couldn't possibly pack back into Aunt Olivia's residence. Because, such an action will only provoke a question that he does not want to answer. Because of that Jacelyn had hidden all the things she had prepared in the attic of the stables beside her house.

Jacelyn was waiting for her mother's departure from the house, Just like before her mother would quickly get bored being there, she said, and of course it will soon leave the house that does not even take three weeks, for the old woman to be on one roof with her sister and daughter.

After his mother's departure, he could discuss the topic of his trip to Stewart Kingdom with his deputy, Uncle Oilbhries.

His mother's younger brother was a good man with very soft words and behavior, his attitude was very contrary to the older brother, Ledy Carmila, unless the man was drinking.

By the time the man touched the drink, his gentle figure would turn into a very deadly venomous snake. His uncle had been disabled for a long time, before the man had never once shown his emotions when facing Jacelyn.

The man will start his drinking when his feet start to feel uncomfortable. His uncle would ask a servant to bring all the wine, and from the experience he had, the servant learned to bring a teapot straight into Uncle Oilbhries' room.

On several occasions Jacelyn was able to successfully sneak away to her room, before her uncle turned out to be extremely ruthless. However, on several other occasions, Jacelyn could not get through it, because the man had already told Jacelyn to sit next to him, when she had not been affected by the drink.

In his semi-conscious state, Uncle Oilbhries would tell him stories of the past. He used to be a young knight who was very tough, he could even be calculated to be able to compete with other knights. However, a train accident has taken away everything that belongs to him. A carriage drove so fast that it crushed his legs that it was only twenty-two years old at the time, and after the wine had completely taken possession of the man's body and mind, it was completely, his uncle will start screaming about the injustice of the accident that has befallen him.

His uncle would also shout loudly at Jacelyn. However, Jacelyn never let her uncle know if her uncle's emotions always made Jacelyn feel very sad. Every time it happened, Jacelyn's stomach would feel very tense and would never disappear until the uncle allowed her to go back into her room.

Worse, Uncle Oilbhries' habits are getting worse year after year. The man had started asking for his wine more noon than before. And in every gulp of his glass, the man would turn very dramatic. In the middle of the night, the man would cry bitterly lamenting his unfortunate fate or even shout using cruel words and insults to Jacelyn.

Every day, Jacelyn had to be heartened, to be able to forgive the cruel words that came out of her Uncle's mouth. He tried to believe that the pain experienced by Uncle Oilbhries was much more painful for his own Uncle than for him. Uncle Oilbhries needs a lot of understanding, as well as compassion from him.

Jacelyn's mother, Lady Carmila, has no compassion for her sister. Thank goodness she never lived in her house for long. He never wanted to take care of his Oilbhries uncle or even his own daughter.

Even when Jacelyn was a child, she was still very fragile and easily hurt by her mother's cold behavior and always stayed away from her. Uncle Oilbhries would always try to appease Jacelyn, that the little girl had made her mother think of her late father. And her mother had loved the nobleman so much that, after all these years, she could never forget the sorrow of her husband's death. And when Jacelyn's mother saw herself the grief would reopen, her uncle said.

The wound of losing her husband will re-form, and will leave little room for other feelings. Because when he said that his uncle was not drinking, Jacelyn believed in every word he said. However, the girl still could not understand such love between a couple, and she felt pain for her mother's love and affection.

Jacelyn lived with Aunt Olivia and Uncle Noriie for the first four years of her life. Then, when he returned to visit Uncle Oilbhries and his mother, the little girl accidentally called Uncle Noriie as the father, it succeeded in making Jacelyn's mother angry. And Uncle Oilbhries wasn't very happy to hear that either.

Uncle Oilbhries finally decided that Jacelyn should spend more time with him and ordered Aunt Olivia to take Jacelyn to her residence to stay for six months each year.

Every morning for an hour of waking life, Oilbhries' uncle would take the time to tell Jacelyn's real father. The long sword that always hung above the fireplace was the sword of Jacelyn's late father, which he used to slash the dragon that dared to snatch Northumbria from the hands of the king who deserved power. And Jacelyn's honorable father died in honorable circumstances in order to defend the life of his leader. That's what Uncle Oilbhries always told Jacelyn.

The story was so vivid, and so fantasy. And in a short time Jacelyn had regarded her father as a very admirable saint in her mind.

Every year, on the day of his father's death. Jacelyn would gather a lot of flowers to beautify her father's tomb. He will offer a prayer for the soul of the Father, even though he believes that prayer need not be offered again. For Jacelyn believed that her father must have been in heaven, serving the creator in exchange for his courageous service to his king in his lifetime.

But something surprising happened. At that time Jacelyn was a dozen years old when she learned about the truth from her biological father. The man did not die defending Northumbria from the rebels. The man wasn't even from Northumbria. And all this time his mother never once mourned the death of the father. The woman hated her husband so much, the hatred was never even dim even though it had been many years.

Uncle Oilbhries only told Jacelyn half the truth. That she was a clear reminder of the great mistake made by the woman.
