After Ramsey said that. Ainsley Callista's body immediately looks more relaxed. While Ramsey can only shake his head when faced with his wife's behavior.Himself decided, as soon as his wife felt much better, he would look for a way to be able to handle his wife's unwarranted fear. But, he won't wait to talk to Tavish. No, he would instantly pull his cousin away, so as not to tell the women scary things.
Ailean is the easiest subject to tell excessively. His older brother rarely spoke to women, except in special events that required the Emperor to give specific directions. And his hard personality is very often mistaken as an anger. Tavish knows that some women have their own fears for Ailean and she finds fun activities to further arouse that fear at all times.
Her sister doesn't know that she's freaking Ainsley Callista out right now. Ailean stood by the fireplace, facing towards them with her hands folded in front of the chest of her field. The man's standing style looked relaxed, but the gaze of his ash-grey eyes still looked sharp and deadly. The wrinkle on his face made the fireplace fire behind him feel cold.
Ainsley Callista had just walked towards the council, as she stared across the room and saw a frown on Ailean's face. The woman's steps instantly wavered. Fortunately Ramsey caught his wife's body at the right time.
When it happened. Ailean realizes that she is the center of fear in Ainsley Callista. He turned to the left, where the councils were seated, and motioned for the Merquess to begin immediately. The sooner this debate is over, the sooner his sister-in-law can dispose of his fear.
All of the oldest ones there were staring at Ainsley Callista. The oldest elder, Earl Graham, was the shortest chairman. He sat at one end of the row. At the other end sat Merquess, the spokesman. The Viscount, Baron, and Duke sat among them. The hair on each of the elders was filled with strands of gray hair, and they had the same scars as the walls in the room.
Ainsley Callista focused his attention on the Marquess. The leader of the elders had a deep facial line around the tip of his eyes, and Ainsley Callista concluded that the lines were created as a result of the laughter that the old man had often let out over the years. The thought makes it easier for Ainsley Callista's shadow if the man understands enough about the problem that Ainsley Callista is experiencing.
"Your husband has just shared a story that is very surprising to us, Ledy Ainsley Callista," Marquess began. "To be honest, we're having a hard time believing what he's saying."
The Marquess nodded at her last words to emphasize her statement, then she stopped talking. Ainsley Callista isn't sure if she should start talking now or wait. She decided to look at her husband, and upon receiving a nod from him, then said, "My husband will only tell the truth."
The other four council members instantly wrinkled their faces simultaneously. Marquess smiled. The old man said in a soft voice, "Will you tell us your reasons for demanding the promise to be fulfilled?"
Ainsley Callista reacted as if the Marquess had shouted at him. He believes the man used the word "demanding" to insult himself indirectly. "I am a woman and I will not demand anything from my husband. I'm just gonna ask, and now I'm asking Ramsey to keep the promise that she made."
"Alright," the Marquess agreed to it, her voice still remained soft. "You're not demanding, you're asking. Now, I need you to explain to the council your reasons for asking for that promise to be fulfilled, because the promise you asked for sounded so strange to us."
The woman's body stiffened immediately. The Marquess' words really hurt the heart. Ainsley Callista took a deep breath to calm down. "Before I agreed to marry Ramsey, I asked her to promise that she would bring my beloved friend, Ledy Jacelyn Elizabeth, when I would give birth. My pregnancy is almost over now. Ramsey has agreed to this request and we intend to make it happen as soon as possible."
The Marquess's countenance changed as Ainsley Callista said so. It was obvious that the old man did not like the explanation from Ainsley Callista. The man cleared his throat and said, "Ledy Jacelyn Elizabeth is Northumbrian, but isn't that a problem for you?"
"No, My Lord, it's not a problem at all."
"Do you believe that keeping this promise is more important than the chaos that will result from the Northumbrian woman? You intentionally want to ruin our lives young girl?"
Ainsley Callista immediately shook his head as quickly as possible to refute the words. "I wouldn't intentionally do such a thing."
The Marquess looked even more relieved after hearing the reply from Ainsley Callista.
Ainsley Callista suspects that the man believes he can manipulate himself into forgetting the problem. The Marquess' subsequent statement proved her suspicion.
"I'm relieved to hear that, Ledy Ainsley Callista." The Marquess paused for a moment, then nodded to the four councils. "I can't believe that any one of our women would cause this kind of commotion. Now, he's gonna forget all this shit..."
The words successfully made the Marquess' shoulder sag. Changing the way Ainsley Callista thought was not an easy task. The man scrunched his face as he turned to look at Ainsley Callista. "Now, young girl, Northumbrian people will never be accepted here" he said. "This woman will share food with us..."
A fist hit hard on the table. It was a knight named Duncan (Duke) who did it. The Duke looked at the Marquess and said in a heavy voice that sounded very rude, "Ramsey's wife has already embarrassed the name of Stewart Kingdom by asking for this kind of bad thing."
The statement immediately made tears in Ainsley Callista's eyes. He could feel that his body was starting to panic. He did not know what to say to answer the Duke's statement.
Ramsey did not stay silent to see Duke Duncan's behavior. The man was standing right in front of his wife. "Your Highness Duke, you may express your dislike for my wife's statement, but you will not raise your voice when you say it in front of my wife." The man's voice trembled in anger as he spoke to Duke Duncan.
Ainsley Callista could only peek out from under her husband's cloak to see the old man's reaction to her husband's words. The old man just nodded. Then, the Marquess waved her hand to have everyone shut up.
The Marquess turned her attention back to Ainsley Callista. "I'll ask you again, do you want to ruin our lives on purpose" Marquess repeated.
Ainsley Callista stood beside her husband, not behind him. He doesn't want to look like a coward. "I don't know why you think that Ledy Jacelyn Elizabeth is going to cause chaos. She's a very gentle woman."
The Marquess closed her eyes occasionally taking a deep breath, then spoke back. "Ainsley Callista, we don't like Northumbrians. You must have realized that for years you've lived with us."
"He grew up on the border" Duke Duncan reminded his leader. The knight scratched his jaw which was filled with feathers. "She may not understand that clearly."
The Marquess nodded in agreement, a second later her eyes looked sparkling. The man turned his back toward the other councilors, bowed his body, and spoke in a soft voice. When the old man finished speaking, all the elders nodded in agreement with what he said.
Ainsley Callista was fed up with the triumphant look of the Marquess. He concluded that the old man had found a way to refuse his request before seeking advice from the Emperor.
Ramsey saw the same thing. The man directly advanced a few steps from his spot with a dark aura that had filled his entire body. Ainsley Callista clasped her husband's hand. She knows Ramsey is determined to fulfill her promise, but Ainsley Callista also does not want her husband to be punished by the elders. The punishment would definitely be severe, even for a knight like Ramsey.
And worst of all, the shame that the man will suffer, will be borne by him for the rest of his life until the future.
Ainsley Callista squeezes her husband's hand. "You will make the decision because I don't really understand, so it's your job to decide what's best for me. Didn't you?" Guess Ainsley Callista, who suddenly made the Marquess surprised by the thought of the woman.
He had just wanted to answer the challenge from the woman when Ramsey said first. "No. Marquess, she won't decide what's best for you. It would be an insult to me, my wife."
The board leaders immediately looked at Ramsey with displeasure. In a loud voice, the man made a statement, "You will abide by all the decisions made by the council, Ramsey." Said the Marquess in a high tone.
"A knight Stewart has given his promise. And it must be respected."
