THE SECRET (The Power Of Love Conquers All)
CHAPTRE 10

Jacelyn felt that she would have an exciting experience from her adventure this time, but when Jacelyn realized her thoughts, everything seemed very unreasonable.

Jacelyn didn't know what was really going on, but, that wasn't important. He only knew that he was free from all worries in his body. He feels safe. The man's facial features showed that he was not very fond of the task he was carrying, but Jacelyn was confident that the man would protect her during this trip.

Jacelyn no longer even cared if she was the only woman among them. Jacelyn was already very impatient to start a new journey this time around. He will leave behind all the lies in his life, the pain, the rejection, and all the betrayals that have occurred during his life.

Jacelyn promised herself. He will never return to this place. It never will. She would never even visit, no matter how short, she would stay with Aunt Olivia and Uncle Noriie. And by God, if he wanted to, he would also call them Mother and Father, and no one would be able to stop him.

Jacelyn felt a great urge to scream and laugh, only to show her the joy she felt. But he endured that desire, knowing consciously that Stewart's men wouldn't be able to understand him. How can they understand? Jacelyn herself could barely understand herself.

The silence seemed to last for hours, but Jacelyn knew that a few minutes ago the atmosphere was created. The long-unoiled sound of the clanking of hinges rang out loud and caught the attention of the knights. Everything, except the leader looked that way. Two men drew their swords. Jacelyn soon realized that the knights were in enemy territory and would be on alert for an attack.

No wonder they all look so upset. The wrinkles on their faces now seemed reasonable to Jacelyn. He turned his attention back to the leader. "Are you Ainsley Callista's husband?"

The man did not answer. Jacelyn was just about to repeat her words using the traditional Stewart language when the knight who was right behind her leader replied. "Ramsey is with his wife. We are his family."

The man's language was too thick with accents that Jacelyn had trouble understanding. The knight pointed his horse forward. When he got to the side leading him, he spoke again. "Are you Lady Jacelyn Elizabeth?"

Jacelyn smiled. No one but Ainsley Callista would add the word Elizabeth in her name. It was a sweet reminder of the days that have passed. "Yes," he answered. "But you can call me Jacelyn. Please tell me, sir, how's Ainsley Callista doing?"

"Fat's'

Jacelyn laughed at the man's short answer.

"He should be fat" Jacelyn said.

"But is he healthy?"

The man nodded. "Madam, we came all the way here to hear you tell us that you don't want to come back with us. Please give us your refusal now and we'll be gone soon."

Jacelyn's eyes widened in surprise. The man insulted her very casually.

Jacelyn turned to look the other way. "Do you all believe that I won't be back with you?" Jacelyn asked in a voice of disbelief.

All the knights nodded. Makes Jacelyn aghast. "You guys came all the way here just wanting to hear me say no?"

They nodded back in unison. Jacelyn did not believe it. she was amused and laughed because she could not hold it anymore.

"Did you laugh at our Ainsley Callista because she innocently believed that you would keep your promise?" one of the knights asked.

"No, sir," sergeant Jacelyn. "I'm laughing at you guys."

Jacelyn decided that she shouldn't be so forthright with Stewart's people. The men looked as if they wanted to strangle him now.

Jacelyn exhaled regretting their conversation and decided to repeat.

"What's your name, sir?"

"Azril."

"It's nice to meet you, Azril," Jacelyn said, bowing respectfully quickly

Azril rolled his eyeballs showing his annoyance. "Madam, you're wasting our time" Azril replied.

"If you're going to give us your rejection right away, we're leaving. You don't have to bother explaining your rejection. A "no" answer is more than enough."

They all nodded their heads at the same time. Jacelyn thought that she might die of laughter.

"I'm afraid I won't be able to give you the clear answer you're hoping for" Jacelyn began. "I intend to keep my promise to my friend. I'm even very excited to meet Ainsley Callista. I think the more we go, the better. I can of course understand that you want to refresh yourself before we leave."

After saying that. Can Jacelyn see that she has succeeded in making the knights surprised by the short announcement.

Azril looked flabbergasted. The others, except for the leader, who still did not show any expression, looked half-confident. Jacelyn did not laugh, but smiled. He also spoke Stewart's language to impress them. And from the way they looked at him, he was sure that his efforts were successful.

Jacelyn decided that she should clearly remember the facial expressions of each man, so she could tell Ainsley Callista. Her friend would definitely find her funny, just like her.

"You really want to come with us, madam?" Ask Azril.

Didn't he just answer that question? Jacelyn hid her feelings of regret. "Yes, I really intend to come with you guys," Jacelyn replied back in a resolute tone of voice without rambling. He looked back at the leader.

"You better understand that it doesn't matter whether you expect my presence or not. Nothing can stop me from fulfilling my promise. If I had to walk to Ainsley Callista's house, then for God's sake, I would do it now. So now," Jacelyn added in a soft tone of voice. "Is everything clear to you?"

The leader of the knights did not nod or speak, but the man raised one eyebrow. Jacelyn decided to consider that reaction a yes answer.

Tord caught Jacelyn's attention with a long whistle. Jacelyn gestured for the man to take his horse out. Then raised the folds of her blue dress and rushed down the stairs. He was passing through the ranks of the knights when he heard one of them muttering. "I already knew that she would be a difficult woman to manage, Ailean."

Jacelyn didn't even pretend that she didn't hear that. "So much as you say, I might be a difficult woman to manage" Jacelyn shouted as she continued walking towards the cage. Then laugh.

Since Jacelyn did not twist her body, she could not see the smiles of the knights against her bragging.

Ailean seemed unable to take her eyes off the woman. He obviously looked very shocked, of course because the woman intended to keep her promise. But, hell, he didn't expect that he would be interested in that woman. And it surprised him, a strange response, and he was so sure of what he was going to do.
