Marrying the Lord Ruler

Marrying the Lord Ruler
CHAPTER 58

Xavier went into the room. Intend to change his clothes. When he entered, he saw Charlotte sitting on the side of the bed. Back him by holding a book. Charlotte looked dreamy. If they hadn't fought, he might have come to him. But Xavier was reluctant if he had to argue again, he decided to clean up.

Fifteen minutes later Xavier came out, he changed his clothes to a long black t-shirt and short jeans. Her hair was left to shuffle. Xavier exited the walk in closet.

While at the door, he was surprised by the presence of Charlotte who was standing there. The woman looked down with a book in her hand.

“This, yours.” The woman handed the book to Xavier.

Xavier glanced at him for a moment, then picked it up. Xavier gasped as he looked at the title of the book. Grandpa's handbook last night. “How can this be on you? I already threw it away.” asked astonished.

As it contained ridiculous and rather embarrassing things, Xavier ended up throwing it away. According to him, Grandpa bought the book too much. It is impossible to read it and implement it in real life. Remembering his stubborn wife and hating her. That's impossible for Xavier.

“Dona took it and gave it to me. He said it's yours.” Charlotte said, her tone was so low. His eyes did not dare to look directly at Xavier's black eyes.

“I don't need it. Just throw it away.” Xavier gives the book to Charlotte and walks away. Back to apathy.

“Why was dumped? You've bothered to buy it, haven't you?”

Xavier's steps came to a halt, he turned his head back without moving his body. “It was a wedding gift from Grandpa. Useless and just troublesome.” Xavier.

“Gift of Grandpa?” Charlotte was shocked and paid attention to the book she was holding.

“Grandpa bought it for you. Why should it be discarded.” The impression feels unfortunate. In fact, he initially wanted to use the book to avenge Xavier's treatment, but was undone because he felt guilty.

Xavier turned around, both his hands stuffed into his pants. Watching Charlotte's changing attitude. The woman turned soft from before. Xavier wondered in his heart.

“It's not wrong to keep it. Even if you don't want to read it. At least Grandpa is happy.” Charlotte.

“Save only. I don't need it.” said Xavier indifferently, turning around and leaving just like that.

‘The attitude turned cold, as if I was wrong. Does he really want me to apologize? Selfish once.’

Charlotte had dinner with a feeling of annoyance. The food on her plate was untouched and just ruffled. The man in front of him, was so enjoying his food without thinking about the problem that occurred this afternoon. The irritated Charlotte continued to drink water until it ran out of two glasses. Today's dinner menu looks delicious, but his appetite seems to disappear once he sees Xavier's indifferent attitude.

“Nona, do I need to make other food?” Dona volunteered when she saw Charlotte not one bit eating her food.

“Ti-no need. This is enough.” Charlotte refused. Charlotte glanced at Xavier who was still busy with her food without feeling bothered. ‘Basic guy sucks!’

Srreeet!

Charlotte pushed her chair back until it creaked. Then he stood up. “I'm done. I'm going to room.” Her speech. He did not wait for Xavier's answer and left from there.

Charlotte went up to the third floor, still at 7pm and she was reluctant to sleep at this time. He was confused as to what to do to get rid of his frustration. Xavier's Mansion was indeed big, but there was nothing that kept him entertained. There were many servants and guards there but he felt alone. Xavier's attitude that returned cold increasingly made him dissolve in solitude. Charlotte is confused as to who she should spill her grief to now.

Eventually, Charlotte decided to get off. He wanted to go to the park next to the Mansion. His small steps led him to that place which he thought was the best place to calm his mind at the moment. There was nothing he wanted to do but look at the stars out there.

The park has an area of approximately 1 hectare and surrounded by cypress trees, various kinds of flowers, and there are also vines. At the end of it, there is a saung under a mango tree that grows high. That place is very suitable as a place for complaints of sadness, like that. Charlotte was sitting in a saung in the corner of the park. The cold and the quiet atmosphere of the night made the place calm. Charlotte likes tranquility. Maybe he'll make it his favorite place now.

The saung made of bamboo has an open wall and low backrest on its edges. The roof made of piles of dry rice stalks reminded him of a small hut in the middle of the rice field. Although there are no such plants in the rice fields, it is enough to make him remember the past when he was a child.

His father and mother took him to the countryside. Catch frogs and play perosotan in the middle of the rice field. Very fun and entertaining. There are also irrigation canals that drain plants that come from rivers. He played until he was soaked. He remembered, at that time my father was upset and scolded him. But mom protected him. Such things that he will surely miss. I don't know when else, he could enjoy such a fun moment.

“Kaburmu is less far.”

Barington's voice from behind distracts the dreamy Charlotte. He was shocked when he saw Xavier walking towards him. The man was easily recognized by just his high posture. Xavier wears a black jacket. In her hand held a pink knit sweeter. What Charlotte guessed was hers.

Xavier stood in front of Charlotte who was still stunned to see him. Unexpectedly, the man immediately put the sweeter on to Charlotte. The woman just kept quiet and let Xavier do it.

“Cold here.”

“Why are you here?” Charlotte looked at Xavier without blinking.

“This is my Mansion, it's up to me where.” Xavier monohok. The man took a seat beside Charlotte.

“No stars. Are they hiding?” He stared at the gray night sky.

“Why are you here? You said you wanted to go to room.” Xavier asked without seeing Charlotte.

Charlotte turned her head quickly, “You heard me?”

“You think I'm deaf.”

“No. I thought your heart was frozen. Until I don't want to see me.” Charlotte looked down again sadly.

Xavier watched Charlotte who was bowed again sadly. He sighed and threw it away slowly, “I'm sorry.”

“Hm? What are you talking about?” Charlotte saw Xavier. The man's voice was so slow that he didn't hear it.

Xavier cleared his throat, then continued his words. “I'm sorry. It's hurt you. I had absolutely no intention of saying it. I was too emotional. I'm sorry.”

Charlotte was silent until she could not speak. What he heard wasn't a dream, was it? Finally, he heard the man's apology. Xavier seemed sincere about it. His eyes said everything. That sincerity and guilt, it seemed so obvious.

“I'm sorry too. For being too afraid to tell you the truth.” Charlotte said. Their eyes clashed together to form a smile between the two.

“Good. The problem is over here. No need to bring it up again.” Xavier.

“Iya. I agree.” Suddenly Charlotte chuckled, Xavier was astonished to see her.

“Why laugh?”

“No, I just feel funny. You know, we're better this time. We've been like Tom and Jerry.” Charlotte smiled to herself.

“Is that?”

“Hmm, we quarrel and attach importance to each other's egos. I who refused this marriage must have made you difficult. Maybe it's true, if I'm not an adult. There's still so much I need to learn.” Charlotte said.

“Hm, you did trouble me.” Xavier replied not to pull it off.

Charlotte returned to smile. Could this be the beginning of their friendship?

A friendship? Why did he suddenly think about it. Being friends with Xavier, sounds better compared to being hostile. The bad relationship they have. The start of a bad meeting between them and the end of the marriage. Maybe it's time, he made peace with the man. And start a good life with him?

“By the way why do you want to be betrothed? You can refuse it, right? You must have known marrying a little boy was troublesome, then why did you do it?” ask Charlotte inquisitively.

“I told you my reason.”

“What? I forgot.”

Crack it!

“Ouch! It hurts! Why jerk me?!” Charlotte rubbed her forehead because of Xavier.

“You are indeed forgetful and stubborn. Compared to fighting me, you better fix your ugly nature.” Xavier Syndicate.

“Aaa, you're hurting me! It's feel!” Charlotte hits Xavier's shoulder. The man did not dodge, receiving all the blows of the woman. They enjoyed their little prank….

Tick tick…. (Rain is down)

“Rain?” Charlotte put her hand up. Heavy rain began to wet the ground of their footing. The originally quiet cloudy, now turned the fun into panic.
