MARDIGRAS, MASK PARTY held at the end of the year it happened tomorrow. Wrong, more precisely in the morning. Galavidi does not know if his arrival is at the end of the year. He thought for a moment, realizing that the festival happened three days in a row: Humanday, Beerfest, and Mardigras. Isn't this a phenomenon that occurs every few hundred years?
In the books that Galavidi has read, when the three celebrations occur in a row, the guard at Cristal Lake is tightened and the people who are there will be limited. This is because the magic at Cristal Lake reaches its peak and is feared to be a catastrophe for people who do not yet have enough power. He did not know the lower limit of ‘quite the power of’ it was because since birth, Galavidi never discovered this phenomenon. Moreover, the word catastrophe can be any form. It may be loss of ability, disability, or even death. Honestly speaking, Galavidi was hesitant.
Atlas laughs. A jet black feather was in Atlas' hands. The Enchanter stood up. The frequent gets more horrible. “I take back my master's goods. Relax, tomorrow you will meet him near the harbor. Take him and fight him once again,”.
Akkadian glares. His feelings are starting to get uncomfortable. “Wait! Who's master? Don't-don't—”
“Certainly Betelgeuse Romanee Schordinger.”
His shock was like a godam that was swung many times. Galavidi saw his uniform pocket. Niente. The feathers of Betelgeuse they had stolen had changed hands. He's really sloppy.
“This backpack, why, anyway?!” Kannika throws her hammer before Atlas disappears from view, but not the smallest part of Atlas's body, not even his shadow.
Don't ask about Kannika's condition. The man looked angry as if he could swallow another executioner raw. Unlike Sam most trying to be sane and not carried away by emotions. While the sad Akkadian first thought that fighting Betelgeuse directly was already difficult, plus an Enchanter as great as Atlas— who could clearly manipulate anything without flaw. Betelgeuse could have had that much luck, above average talent, high status, handsome face, great people support, and most importantly unlimited insanity. “Betelgeuse is so.” Akkadian agrees with his own thinking.
That night, they slept uneasy. They also had bad dreams. The area around their blackened eyes in the morning became a witness. With such apparitions, they came out of the temple and were greeted by the sound of drums anchoring everywhere.
Once again, the streets look full of festival crowds. People wear different costumes and masks. Some look like animals that are commonly found, for example crocodiles that stand with dangling tails. Some wore black robes and masks, carrying crescent spears in the style of an angle of death. There are also those who only use simple clothes and masked wood various motif—style to be chosen by Galavidi and his friends.
They mingled with the crowd, then covered to a second-hand clothing store. Shopping in the middle of a mission trip is fun. At least they have taken into account the time and distance traveled. That's not too far from the journey from Well of Time to Wisteria Academy.
After changing clothes and spending 28 wizers thanks to the tragedy of a fierce bargain, they bought a few packs of bread for breakfast. Kannika carries a bag of dirty clothes while chewing on a piece of bread. While Akkadia carrying a bag of bread while holding Galavidi. Sometimes they chat, dance, and sing with others. What a woman activity they miss, except Kannika who often waste her breath because it is boring. Also Sam who looks the most ogah-ogahan, thought it a beautiful day to take care of Johnny.
“Happy?” kannika said as Galavidi and Akkadian returned with a smile. “Wasting time!”
“What a wonderful experience even if only fifteen minutes. How now? Call Anz?” akkadian.
“Alright, leave.” Sam flapped his wings first.
They fly while enjoying the view of the festival from above. Occasionally Akkadia told him about his fondness for the Mardigras festival and demanded that Galavidi take him when Autumnland celebrated another masquerade. Of course Galavidi agreed because of coercion. The forcing session came to a halt after the sails rolled up and the ship was swayed as it waited for the merchandise to be loaded to be seen. Early in the morning—after dawn—some ships have already departed. Many traders come to the port at night because of the phenomenon of this festival. The rest is deliberately waiting for Mardigras to finish and relax. One thing is certain, the port activity is looser than usual, either by trade or exchange of information. Of course, as Autumdland's main access point, the Blue Harbor area was clearly different from usual.
“About where is Betelgeuse?” chirps Galavidi. He could not figure it out because the port area was very large. Moreover, he was less familiar with the territory. Both in the timeline, and in this timeline.
Even so, Galavidi did not feel hesitant to give directions as if he had gotten a clue. Of course it was Atlas. Who else? Galavidi is sure of that.
As Atlas said earlier, Betelgeuse was relaxing near the harbor. Quite far from the main port, but not too quiet compared to the wilderness. For the first time, Galavidi's feelings were very bad. Kannika who looks the most upset becomes very worried as if she will face a life and death fight. Akkadian was confused in taking action. The Demigod was at least fascinated again with the good looks of Betelgeuse even though it had been imagined many times.
“Actually, what's your motivation?” Sam's curious.
“Just have fun. It would be very boring if all I had was taken so easily. Geez, this handsome Fallen Angel like me is not stupid. How, do you like the answer?” Betelgeuse squirms and then throws his fingers and his head. “Yuk, real match!”
“I didn't expect LoD candidates to be this crazy and absurd. It is fitting that the Headmaster does not like it,” Kannika explained. “Wait! Can you guarantee Atlas doesn't interfere?”
Betelgeuse glanced at Atlas. “Om-om that? Of course not. I'm a real man who's confident in my abilities, but I have more lucrative offers. I'll tell you if you praise my kindness,” he said as he clapped his own chest.
“Honored and benevolent Betelgeuse Romanee Schordinger, what offer are you going to offer us that need this?” akkadian said with his best smile.
Betelgeuse was wrong. “Ehem! Ahem! Hohoho, okay. If you can hurt me, the item taken by Atlas before will be returned with sincerity.”
Galavidi. He felt that something was being deliberately hidden. He remembered very well that the existence of the Time Mirror fragment was secret and very well guarded. However, Betelgeuse's words seem to contradict the facts he knew. Supposedly, Betelgeuse did not need to give this extreme offer after Atlas managed to take back its wing feather— which is the embodiment of the mirror fragment. As his curiosity grew higher, Galavidi decided to ask, “Although I can't prove it, but the hunch of a seer like me never misses. There is a big reason behind this game of collectible goods, ‘kan?”
Betelgeuse laughed as if something funny was going on. “Really, but less fun if you know about it. Using ignorance to seek pleasure is my slogan. So, don't expect a relief answer to your question.”
Of course Betelgeuse wanted to tell the Charming team that the owner of the mirror fragment knew he was going to get a guest a group of students in disguise and the guest's purpose was already known. However, as a dignified nobleman who got the mandate of ‘keeping the world’, Betelgeuse could not say. How did the Charming team express when they found out that the Headmaster and Lord of Darkness they had met in the Well of Time as well as the one who gave the mission were fake?
I don't know. From the beginning, the destruction of the mirror fragment was planned and must be carried out as it should.
