Maple High School Academy Year 3
The Last Chaos in Boneyard - Highland Frontier

Highland Frontier

THE GOVERNMENT CITY IS ON a cold-air afternoon. The horse-drawn carriage has begun to enliven the streets that are not silent. The appetizing aroma that comes from the food-service shops is mixed with the noise of people passing by. They were busy with their own business, ignoring the presence of a group of teenagers galloping towards one of the shops.

Located at the end of the street, the two-story building that has many windows, stands firm with a tantalizing roast fragrance. For a moment, Evander, who could not help his hunger, grumbled at the seller who was good at luring customers to enter.

When entering the store, they were greeted with steam billowing from the direction of the grill. The tables are not neatly arranged, the people are entwined with their respective discussions that all look aged. The fireplace is large and the interior of the room is dominated by items made of wood, giving rise to a warm atmosphere.

“Young people, have I helped?” A thin middle-aged man with a mustache and beard covering his chin came over. “Today is Humanday Festival, here we provide a special menu. Do you want to try it?”

Evander was intrigued to confirm the offer, but Ashlen pinched his arm and replied, “Thank you, sir. However, we're here to find our missing partner.”

Candra added, “A teenage boy will look flashy here, right?”

“Ah, if you mean Warlock's teen.” The man pointed to the only teenager in the room. Navarro looks focused on his snack. “He's the one you're looking for, isn't he? But as far as I am concerned, he never brought his partner here.” The man's view implies suspicion.  “Are you guys really his partner?” tanyanya full of search.

Evander was about to make a sound, but Ashlen was already ahead. “More precisely, we are his juniors.”

“Ah, okay. I won't get in the way.” The man eventually walked away, approaching a new customer. Had sounded conversational interspersed with laughter. Ashlen chose to sit at one of the tables that turned his back to Navarro's table.

“Chairman, are we okay sitting here? Didn't we agree to wait for the Werewolf's arrival?” Evander whispers. “We don't even have money to pay for food, do we?”

“You're so noisy, Evan.” Ashlen pushed Evander's shoulder slowly. “Please stay away. We're not going to eat.”

“No eating? Are you crazy? We're just sitting, are we? Aren't you ashamed?” evander protests. The honey-colored Elf's skin was met with red, a mixture of anger and shame.

“You're so noisy, Evan,” said Candra mimicking Ashlen. He looked at Evander. “At least think about the mission, not just about the entrails.”

“You!” Evander stood up, he pulled the collar of Candra's robe. The Wizard hissed as a result of the tightness. Ashlen pulls Evander's arm, slams him slightly to make Evander sit down.

“Can't you guys calm down a little?” ashlen. He nodded slowly, then sighed. “Our mission is one. Don't add.” Ashlen's stern words were enough to silence the two men of different races.

After a brief moment of argument, they glanced at Navarro's seemingly empty table. They just grumbled slowly. Ashlen immediately got up, he pulled the hood of Evander's robe, making the Elf scream softly. “Ashlen!” it was ignored by the team leader.

Candra followed from behind. He smiled faintly when he heard Ashlen exclaim, “Shut, Blonde! It's all because of your ridiculousness.”

The Headmaster turned out to be a troublesome person! This is the second time they have lost track. Fortunately, when they came out of the store they were not charged anything. Just have to endure the embarrassment of not buying anything.

Crowds still going on downtown. The horizon had turned gray, some kind of rare winged animal crossed the sky with his herd. Lanterns of various types have been installed on the side of the road, illuminating a corner of the city that is not separated from the festival. Suddenly, a loud voice stopped their steps.

“Chairman!”

Then to help the blind Arion return to Tunnelove, John intends to invite Arion to stop at his home in Blue Harbor. As they pass through the Light of City, Arion, who finds his group, quickly breaks up with John and promises to visit the old man's house while he and his group are away.

“Good. Careful, Young Man.” His advice was still similar, as if the man's life was indeed full of vigilance. “If in your group there is a Wizard, let's say that my house looks most conspicuous among the places in Blue Harbor close to Spell Industry.”

Just now Arion turned his eyes to get the attention of his group, the figure of John who a moment ago gave the advice was not seen everywhere. “Loh? She missing?” Despite the confusion, Arion still tried to call Ashlen because Evander seemed to be at odds with Candra. “Chairman!”

Arion told me enthusiastically. The werewolf recounted that he had almost been in trouble as a result of the Magic Knights coming. Arion's green eyes stared at Candra with a twinkle of spirit.

“Haha, Can! Thank you.” He patted Candra's shoulder quite hard. The thin-bodied Wizard man was almost toppled over by it. “Sorry-sorry, I'm too excited.” Arion continued to say, “because you told me about the reason before, so I can be free from their pursuit. Haha. Amazing, isn't it?”

Evander listened to their talk and chimed in, “What reason did you use?”

“I don't think it's any of your business either.”

“You!”

Ashlen, who had been leading the way, turned around and stared intently at Evander. Given an implied warning, the Elf fell silent.

Since parting ways with the team, Arion still felt their faces look moody, out of curiosity, he asked, “Talking about the mission, have you guys managed to get the mirror?”

“Not yet,” Candra said slowly, “we lost track of Navarro again.”

“The head of the school is really troublesome!” sahut Evander. “He was very clever in dodging.”

When they reached the end of the north road, they were faced with two lanes. “Which path do we want to take?” ask Ashlen who has stopped stepping.

Evander immediately replied, “Right! I'm sure he's on the right track.”

“Why are you so sure Navarro is there?”

Evander smiled as he patted his chest. “Trust me, we will always be lucky if choose the right region.”

“Whatever why, I don't trust you, Elf.” The look on Arion's face piqued suspiciously. “Can we get lost later, right? It would hurt the team! Do you want to be responsible for that, huh?”

“This time, I agree with Evan.”

Amazed by the response from Candra, Evander interrupted the conversation, “Wow, wow, tumben once you want to think as I do? Is this a sign of a ceasefire? Hoho, I didn't expect you to give up easily, Can.”

“Stop that bitch, Evan. I'm lazy to argue with you.”

“Josh this you guys.” Ashlen shook his head and sighed slowly. “Can, continue your opinion. Don't be swayed by provocation from Evan.”

“Chairman, that's not fair! Can himself said first if—”

“Shut up, you, Evan!”

Candra explained that she also agreed with Ashlen's opinion that Navarro could have tricked them. “Given him who originally mingled in the crowd, I think it would be impossible if he used a similar strategy.” If the left lane looks like a crowd illuminated by lantern light, another case with the right path that leads to silence with minimal light.

Finally, the team simultaneously followed Evander's words, of course after they had considered the reason of Candra. Because the path they were heading towards was close to the border of Highland—highland which had no residential area around it—Candra interrupts for them to stop. The atmosphere on the Highland border with the Ligh of City was surrounded by tall-large trees. The surrounding lighting is only a reflection of the moon. The atmosphere was too quiet, despite the beauty of the abundant resources there.

Many plants can be used as medicinal ingredients. The eyes of the Elf who could see in the dark, sparkled brightly like finding a piece of treasure. Evander was about to uproot some plants as their stock, but was soon warned by Ashlen.

“Last you have been so fierce, Ashlen,” comments Evander who still does not accept for failing to pick the medicinal plants he wants.

“That's because you keep looking for trouble!” ashlen. “Do you feel anything strange too, Rion?”

Arion hesitated. “To make sure, should I transform now, Chairman?” ask the Werewolf. Arion's ability is limited when using human form.

Ashlen. “No need to waste your energy. Just save.” A moment later he said, “Dan, oh! Prepare your poisonous claws just in case.”

From behind one of the shady trees, a silhouette appeared. There was faintly a greenish aura shrouding the shadow that was galloping towards them.

“It turns out you guys were able to catch up so far.” The Warlock was unmitigated to take out the grimoire hidden under his cloak.

Although this border area was remote and the Magic Knights headquarters was a fair distance away, Candra was able to confirm that it did not take long for the troops to get to where they were. Seeing Navarro on standby to cast his magic, it seemed that they had to hurry!

As Navarro cast a spell, the roots dangling from the huge trees came out from various directions and attacked them. The pointy end and the impromptu attack can make the team drunk. Arion became the first victim whose cheek was scratched by the root. “Sial!”

Ashlen cuts the roots of the plant with a dagger, but as endless, the roots will continue to grow even though they have been cut off from the parent tree. He could only take a step back while fending off the attacks from the roots.

“Can, protect me!” For the first time Evander asks for help from the skinny witch. Self-esteem as a Fallen Angel noble desperately he presses for the success of the mission. Because as a witch whose mana energy is more sensitive to detect, Candra cannot resurrect Lucifer. Instead, he relied on the Necromancer's power by utilizing the inanimate objects around him and helping the team to gain clear vision with the spells he had cast.

Navarro who has activated Absolute Protection is a misfortune for the team in dealing with this one Warlock. Arion's Werewolf body was already full of injuries due to the impact he got when trying to penetrate the defense. The grey white fur looked red-spotted. He had berated Evander who had misdirected the arrows.

“Focus, Blonde! You can kill me, you know!”

Evander clucked no like. The call disturbed him greatly. Although Candra has a similar hair color to her, either grudge what the members of the prefect and Arion who often call her by that name. “Just watch your steps if you don't want to die in vain!”

The arrows formed from the ice shards collided with Navarro's protective wall. The chaos escalates with Ashlen and Arion attacking in turn to corner Navarro and immediately remove the troublesome protector.

When Navarro was forced to lower the level of defense from Absolute Protection, Ashlen threw his dagger until it managed to scratch Navarro's shoulder. The disturbed balance of the body was utilized by Arion clawing at Navarro's arm holding the grimoire, but he had to bounce off a sudden attack from the ground which resulted in his body hitting the trunk of the thorny tree. “Arch ...” Evander immediately approached Arion to treat his wound.

They thought hard, Navarro has yet to cast another spell or summon his contract spirit. If that happens, then they will be troubled. Despite getting serious injuries, it turns out they got good luck. “Indeed deserves to be called as the Headmaster, his ability is not to play,” said Arion with body injuries, but managed to claw the back of Navarro. The claw has a poison that is difficult to cure, at least it can paralyze his opponent in order to have difficulty moving.

Just as the protective wall was beginning to thin, Ashlen sang with a quick rhythm. The second the team used, Evander locked Navarro's hand movements with ice chips, he even dared to lock Navarro's mouth so as not to make a sound so that he could not cast a spell. Luckily they have not faced off with Navarro who can cast a nonverbal spell.

Oh my God, may he not be vengeful, Evander said.

They besieged Navarro from various sides, perhaps only Candra still had time to calculate in the heart the expected arrival of the Magic Knights. Humanday is not over!

After Navarro's shield was removed, as a result of which continued to gnaw on the wearer, Candra saw a black seal on Navarro's nape. He immediately retracted the object when the seal on the mirror fragment was broken. However, in the process it takes up a lot of mana. His thin body rested on one leg, his breath already cut off with sweat flooding his body, coupled with the sharp glances of Navarro made Candra feel suffocated. Finally, he threw the mirror to Ashlen.

The Werewolf Arion's ears caught the sound of the approaching horse's footsteps. “Wire, Chairman! We better hurry to run from here,” he said in panic.

Ashlen nodded in understanding. Due to his closest position, he sat on the back of the Werewolf Arion, while Candra was already dragged by the blonde Elf with the Kerineia Deer he had just called.

“Ck, only this time I want to help you,” hiss Evander half-heartedly help Candra. The anger at the male Wizard has not fully receded.

Navarro was about to chase after them, but dozens of arrows had already floated towards the team carrying mirror fragments. One of the arrows hit Ashlen's right arm.

“Chairman!” arion exclaimed as he continued to run from the pursuit of the guards. “You all right?”

“Shhh .. forget it. Continue to the city.” Ashlen retracted the arrow, splashes of fresh blood spurting, some hitting Arion's grayish-white feathers.

Navarro doesn't stay behind there. He first cleaned his robe, then lightly kneaded the back of the neck that felt pain. “Basic kids.”

The young man tidied up his robe, not looking like a person who had finished fighting. Even her hair is very well-groomed. He grinned as the herd of Magic Knights approached, then muttered softly, “You can't run easily.”
