Ren wrote on the second page of his diary, how happy his heart was, when “they” spent the night together watching the annual fireworks show in Osaka every first Saturday of August, on the Yodogawa river.

Sitting by the river side along with another crowd of sweaty spectators, “they” watched the spectacular show that decorated the Osaka skyline, seconds before 8 p.m. This annual event is ranked as the 10 most popular fireworks in the Kansai area, and is the most awaited event in Osaka. Nearly 500,000 people came to see the incredible fireworks show at the event that has been around since 1989.

Crowded spectators look excited in their best yukata. Smelled of roasted sausage from a street food vendor, there was a voice full of joy and pleasure from the children sitting on their parents' shoulders, can't wait for the masterpiece painted in Osaka's dark sky.

Ren is fascinated by the creativity of fireworks craftsmen who design a wide variety of fireworks to decorate the dark summer sky. Ren feels part of a large family (along with a large crowd of people coming from all over Japan), waiting patiently for the launch of fireworks into the sky.

Ren enjoys the rare experience of being completely immersed in the joyous mood of the Japanese. All the restlessness of being cooped up in a crowd of people at night soon dissipated when they saw the little boy clapping and setting their little feet every time the fireworks were launched.

Ren's favorite is fireworks that flow like a waterfall from the sky. He also likes fireworks that specifically depict famous characters from Japanese comics such as Kitty-chan and Doraemon, with endless firework shots into the sky for 10 seconds. The night feels like daylight and for 50 minutes there is a feeling of being overwhelmed by the giant panorama in the summer night sky.

Returning home from there, Ren asks Yusa to buy him a notebook that he had seen while heading to Yodogawa river in a bookstore. The notebook that covers Tokyo Tower that he really likes. Tokyo Tower is a replica of the bright orange Eiffel Tower as Tokyo's most famous landmark.

It was the tallest steel tower in the world for 51 years before being replaced by the Tokyo Skytree. Even so, Tokyo Tower is still loved by the Japanese people. And Ren wants to one day set foot there.

In the next page, Ren Takahashi writes the story of the beginning he came to the Nobou family. The story begins with an event that took place more than 20 years ago.

“Ampun, Father.!!” The cry of a 4-year-old boy is heart-wrenching. The stronger the child cries, the stronger the lash he gets. That's what he will get if “late” in absorbing the lessons given by the father. A 4-year-old child should be able to read, write and count. At the age of the child to play, his father expected too much with a child of that age. The boy was named Yusa.

The boy wiped the tears with the back of his hand. A hiccup withstood the intense pain. In the end, he could only be quiet. No one would help if that happened. His back and legs bear witness to how cruel his father was to him. It goes on every day.

Ren writes, it was he who came in the following days when Yusa scheduled to study with Benjiro's father. And retreat when that lesson hour is over. Yusa, who was confused by the book in her hand that got a perfect score by the father, could only be silent confused in her room.

“What happened, Nanny?”

Nanny gently rubs Yusa's head and says that she managed to make her father smile. Yusa was silent. He didn't feel he had done anything. His last memory is of sleeping at night with Nanny by his side.

Yusa, who has been lacking affection since childhood from her parents, gets a little affection from her nanny. It was that middle-aged woman who voluntarily wiped away the tears on her cheeks, giving a hug when Yusa needed a place to dispel the feelings of sadness, fear, disappointment, and anger. He also willingly listened to every chatter that came out of Yusa's tiny mouth without interruption with great interest.

“Yusa darling, come”. The gentle woman will stretch out her hands once Yusa returns to the room after “learn” with her father.

The woman was also the one who treated the wounds on Yusa's body as a result of the father's lash when he, with limited knowledge, did the wrong thing according to his father.

In those moments, Nanny, as soon as Yusa called out to her, patiently bathed her, fed and lured her until she fell asleep.

Yusa's heart was broken when her nanny died when she was 7 years old. His soul seemed to go along with Nanny's body that was burned and turned to ashes.

Later Yusa found out that her nanny had long been suffering from a chronic disease that had gnawed her body. Doctors have long advised treatment and treatment in hospitals. However, due to her great affection for Yusa, she chooses to continue working in order to accompany the days of her gloomy little employer. He ignored the pain of being with Yusa, in order to comfort and strengthen Yusa's fragile soul. Until one day, the frail body also succumbs to the disease that has been residing in his body. In the morning, Yusa, who awoke from her sleep, found the Nanny sleeping and did not wake up again in a sitting position with her head resting on Yusa's bed. Yusa who did not understand could only look at her father's housekeepers in a crowd carrying the body of her caretaker, to the back house of the special servant. It was there that they performed the funeral rites, then brought the bodies to the crematorium.

It was hard on Yusa's soul. So bad he couldn't speak. Without tears on her cheeks.

When the body was put into the crematorium, Yusa's small body ran towards the chest that was anchored into a large hole. A large and powerful hand jolted his small body and pulled him backwards. His sight instantly blurred, the field faded and darkened.

The hand that pulled him was Sota's hand. Ren who witnessed the incident was silent. Ren said, Sota replaced Yusa for some time. Until Yusa realized that she was in the 2nd grade of elementary school.
