Looking For Murder

Looking For Murder
Is It Just a Dream?

In a small church on the outskirts of Osaka, on that day it looks crowded than usual. Those who came dressed neatly and elegantly in a dominating white color. Yes, on that day, they came not to worship, but to witness the union of two people who love each other in the sacred bond of marriage. After a series of sacred promises they made before the witnesses, the bride and groom knelt before the priest. The congregation that came to stand listened with wisdom to the next procession. The pastor placed his palms on the heads of the two brides to perform the blessing. Then he said :

“Live according to your promise, live your duty and responsibility and receive the blessing of God. God, the Father of the Lord Jesus Christ who has called and united you in this marriage, will bless you and fill your household with the grace of the Holy Spirit, so that in faith, hope and love, you live a holy and happy life during-His mother.” The pastor stopped saying for a moment.“ Now you are legal as a married couple.“ The priest raised his palms, and the two brides stood up. “Please kiss your bride."

The couple looked timid. Stare at each other with love. One of them grabbed his partner's waist. Face approaching. Gently those red lips kissed the pink lips of her lover. The sweet aroma of strawberry from the lips of the lover, causing the effect of opium. Let go of the kiss for a moment, then kiss it back. Gentler. For a moment they were immersed in an intoxicating banquet. The pure white face was blushing red. Both of their hearts warmed up in happiness.

With the song Beautiful In White, the two walked slowly away from the wedding altar.

So as long as I live I love you

Will have and hold you

You look so beautiful in white

And from now ‘til my very last breath

This day I’ll cherish

You look so beautiful in white

Tonights

Grasping a small bouquet of flowers in their hands each one was given by the bridesmaids. Friends and relatives stood along their streets sowing colorful petals. Those who are happy look beautiful with their smiles. A woman wearing a rendan v neck dress, a wrinkle model on the waist made of brocade with trumpet sleeves in white gives the impression of antique and sexy. Another wore a simple mermaid dress along the knee with a strap accent on the waist. Not to forget the white heels adorn their legs.

Yeah, it's not an ordinary wedding. The marriage of two human children of no different kind. Hikari Nobou and Fumiko Sora. With a face full of happiness, the couple who were drunk with romance stepped out to the wedding car that had been waiting for them in front of the church.

Once on the steps of the church, a car came at high speed and stopped in front of the bridal car. A man wearing a face mask descended quickly from inside the car, forcibly pulling Sora. Their hands slipped. Sora was begging for help. He was pushed into the car. Within seconds the car left the church once Sora had been inside.

“Hei...!!” Only that word came out of Hikari's lips. That incident happened so fast. Those who were present could only be stunned without having the time to do anything. Hikari's reflex throws a bouquet of flowers in her grasp, and runs towards the bridal car, sitting behind the wheel. Without wasting time he drove off his vehicle, chasing after the man who had kidnapped the woman who had legitimately become his wife. I think time is going so slow. The direction that is directed has no end. Wherever he drives, Sora's trail is nowhere to be seen. It was as if the woman and the kidnapper had been swallowed by the earth. Desperation enveloped his heart.

"Honey. Where are you?"

With tears streaming down her cheeks, Hikari continued to drive her car somewhere. The atmosphere around him seemed gloomy in the endless darkness.

Teng.. Teng.. Teng ...

The sound of iron bars was violently struck. Hikari woke up from her sleep. Groping her wet cheeks with tears, Hikari tried to get up and gather her consciousness.

"Hikari Nobou !!" The loud voice of the prison warden called out his name, helping Hikari open her eyes wide.

"There's a call from Mrs Yana Nobou. Important !!"

"Good, sir."

Hikari immediately got down from the top of the bed, towards the cell door that had opened. A male warden had been waiting for him up ahead. As soon as he walked out of the cell door, he followed the uniformed man towards the guard room. Along the way Hikari could not guess what important things her mother wanted to convey, so the woman who had given birth to her contacted her at an unusual time. Inside his head flashed pieces of events inside his dream. Sora the lover of heart went to leave her somewhere.

"Please, Miss. Madam Nobou has been on the other end of the phone." Said the guard officer who had been waiting for him there, while giving the phone algae to Hikari.

Pulling a nearby chair and sitting on it, Hikari prepared herself as carefully as possible, to receive any news from her mother.

"Yes, Mom. I'm right here."

Yana's cry broke, as soon as Hikari's voice sounded in her ears.

"Mothers. What the hell happened to you?" Deg. Hikari's heart was racing. Bad thoughts cover it. Did something bad happen to their family? Yusa's sister ? Benjiro the father? Sora's girlfriend ? Does this have anything to do with his dream? What's the matter? The mother's crying added to her bad mood.

"Mothers. Tell me. What's up?"

There was no answer from Madam Nobou. A moment later came the voice of a man asking for permission to take over the phone.

"Hello Miss Hikari. Teramae is here."

"Yes, Mr. Teramae. What exactly happened ? Why did my mother cry?"

In a calm voice, Teramae explained the current situation. About the death of her sister Yusa. About their departure to Tokyo to ask for an explanation to law enforcement officials as well as pick up the body of his brother. Teramae asks Hikari to prepare in the next few days, they will hold Yusa's funeral. Teramae promised to take care of everything so that he was allowed to attend the funeral of his brother.

Hikari sat languidly in the chair as soon as the phone connection was cut off.

"We're in mourning, miss." Said a prison guard.

"Thank you, sir." Hikari replied without looking at the guard.

"Miss, your time is up ." Said the warden who picked him up earlier.

Without saying much, Hikari got up from her seat, and walked after the warden, to return to her cell. Hikari's steps seemed not to retrace. Yusa's sudden departure, really hit her heart. There were no tears dripping from his eyes. Hikari sad. He also lost. But sadness should not be signaled by tears, right? Was it because he and Yusa were not so close emotionally? I don't know. What Hikari was worried about right now was her mother. The great affection for the mother, made Hikari sad because he could not accompany her in difficult times like today.
