At 11:30, Friday.
"Rin, I miss you, where are you?" asked Vivian that afternoon.
"Gue just finished class, I'm there, I have business faltering," replied Arindi.
Vivian's voice rattled on the phone, she had just returned from out of town. Vivian just finished a seminar and robotics training outside the city with her lecturer. He has not seen his best friend for nearly a week. This afternoon he wanted to hang out with them at the Harmony Cafe.
Arindi just dropped out of her class. He put the books in his locker. This week many of the projects he completed before the midterms began next week until he focused only on his assignments. But of course the shadow of unpaid debts always haunts him, but the busyness makes him unable to think of anything other than his college eyes.
He leaned back in his locker, he opened a BEM boy chat group, looking for Tristan's number he hadn't saved. He never felt the need to call the number so he did not keep it, but once this he had to contact him if he did not want to be called breaking the promise.
One message was sent.
^^^ Good afternoon, brother.^^^
^^^It's Arindi.^^^
^^^Again where?^^^
This afternoon Tristan was in the library, he was looking for materials for his script. He read the message that went into his phone. He was quite surprised to read the message.
"Who's Tan from?" The voice of Celyn from earlier sitting next to him made Tristan startled and typed quickly reply to his message.
^^^In perpus.^^^
He looked back at the journal in front of him, not answering Celyn's question just now. In his mind wondered why Arindi suddenly sent him a message and why the contents of the message were like that.
"We have lunch here." Cellyn's voice again disturbed her. He was quite caught off guard by the presence of Cellyn but he also did not intend to expel her because he just wanted to consider her non-existent.
"Gue's busy." Tristan answered coldly as he continued to stare at the table filled with journals and the thesis he had brought from the bookshelf.
"Huummh is very busy, yes I have come home... sometime we eat together huh?"
Finally, Cellyn left because Tristan kept being indifferent to her. After all, Celyn felt ashamed of herself because all eyes looked at her who continued to ignore Tristan. His pride felt torn apart even by that voiceless gaze.
Meanwhile Arindi walks into the library. He walked into the first floor, not realizing that there were eyes that accidentally saw him enter the library. And those gazes of eyes continued to cling to her, following her every step from afar.
Arindi could not find Tristan easily, so she sent him another message.
^^Son, I'm on the first floor.^^^
^^^Where are we?^^^
Tristan read the incoming message again, he stood up after replying to the message.
Arindi reads a reply from Tristan saying that Tristan is on the second floor. Arindi rushed up the stairs to the second floor. Tristan who had descended to the first floor through the stairs at the other end, almost did not see Arindi if he did not run down earlier.
Tristan saw from a distance that Arindi had gone up to the second floor, Tristan who had just come down immediately climbed back up with the stairs where he had come down earlier.
Arindi walks to the big table in the middle of the second floor room, but she does not find Tristan. Finally he looked for Tristan among the great bookshelves. It turned out that Arindi entered the shelf where the paintings of students were ever contested. He was amazed to see the many hand-painted artwork neatly arranged there. He forgot his main purpose for coming there.
He opened a roll of drawing paper, suddenly a loud noise rang out from the top of his head making him look up, apparently some scrolls shifted out of the shelf and ready to fall on him. He did not try to run, he just wondered why the scroll could move on its own, until finally the scrolls fell towards him, he just said "aahh" while closing his eyes, he said, he spontaneously just lowered his head protecting with his hands.
Tuk tuk klatak...
The sound of several scrolls falling down then stopped. Arindi still closed her eyes. He only explained why he did not feel the slightest pain hit by a scroll that had a wooden tip on both sides of it.
Arindi opened her eyes slowly, her head still down looking at the pair of black-to-grey sneaker shoes at the end of her sneaker. Arindi raised her face and saw Tristan, the owner of the shoe, who was currently standing very close to her as she tried to protect her from being hit by the scroll. Tristan's head and torso curled over Arindi's body, and both hands held a shelf near Arindi's head to support her weight.
They look at each other. Arindi could not say because she was shocked to see Tristan who was suddenly in front of her. Tristan only froze when their eyes met. Tristan could smell the shampoo from Arindi's hair that he left to unravel. He could also clearly see every corner of the girl's pretty face. Until he felt his heart rhythm increasing, he heard his heart beating so hard.
"Lo gapapa?" Tristan looked worried.
Tristan pulled his body when he realized that they were so close, he took a step back to give distance.
"I-iya gapapa" replied Arindi.
"Lo why would you want to see me?"
"Anu." Arindi new inget. "Gue wanted to pay back the money at that time. Nih."
Arindi rushed to take the money she had prepared in her pants pocket. He also extended his hand.
Tristan was stifled when Arindi said like that he suddenly looked coldly at the money in Arindi's hands.
"In your eyes everything is just goods and money, nothing more than that," Tristan said full of sarcasm.
"meaning?"
Tristan simply gave a cold look at Arindi without answering her question. He left behind Arindi who was still dumb. Arindi felt speechless, she just felt annoyed now. His head is boiling now.
"Fucking wow, why do you want to be alone, you can't be good, play hazy, people talk too.lu think I like to meet you... Arrghhhhh shit shit shit..."
.........
Celyn who from earlier followed Arindi and also became the cause of the fall of the paper roll just stood still holding back angrily. After seeing Tristan trying to protect Arindi, he ran out of the prostitution, until he was exhausted. His hands were clenched with trembling. She bit her lips to suppress emotions.
"Why are you always near Tristan, and why is Tristan always near you."
"Oh, I swear to you both."
He continues to curse in his heart. He hated Arindi so much, this time not because of the news that was not necessarily the truth but because it was all happening before his eyes.
...----------------...
Harmony Cafe.
"Baby arin..," said Vivian cheerfully. " How come his face is that?"
Vivian's loud voice greeted Arindi who had just entered the cafe. Arindi threw her backpack at the table. He put his head on his bag. His three other friends were just astonished.
"Why else Rin?" ask Rasya later.
"At least Tristan again," replied Nadine casually while playing her phone.
"Ga need to say that name," said Arindi suddenly raised his head.
"Tristan again? I'm afraid I missed the news" asked Vivian.
"Udah Vi, btw when to, bring by by ga for me?" Arindi tried to divert the conversation.
"Rin, it must be for you, but by the way Tristan why?"
"Udah don't have to say that name, my males," replied Arindi lazily.
"But the story is a little gap, isn't it Rin, ok? I buy you hot chocolate with your favorite chocolate cake, ok ok?" persuade Vivian.
Finally Arindi also told the incident in the library earlier. Not because of the bribe given by Vivi but he hopes by telling her he can know what reason Tristan this time cold to her.
"Huh? Seriously lu?" Nadine shocked.
"Uwaaaa very romantic, already rich in Korean dramas.trus trus your eyes are looking at each other trus..," Vivian cerocos.
"Starting serious, I also do not know where he came from, suddenly appeared," replied Arindi.
"Trus why are you so gini emotion?" rasha.
"Yes I don't know too, that's his name is what I gapapa, truuuss... ah yes I said if I actually met him to pay the debt?" reply Arindi.
"Pay debt? Sunday's debt?" ask Nadine.
"Who else is the debt? you know I don't usually owe people."
"Oh em ji Rin's... Ckck." Vivian shakes her head.
"Seriously you said that?" Rasya also chimed.
"That's your fault, Rin" replied Nadine to the point.
"Lu really is my best friend what is he? How did he look at her brain?" arindi said annoyed.
"Helllllooo... the first, basic ethics if you have been helped to say te.ri.ma.ka.sih. second, you shadow if only nimpa wood head you? You don't think what his back hurts for your protection? Should you ask what his back is? the third one you give me money for what do you try?" obviously Rasya later.
"Yes why Rin, he said he did not need to be reversed" added Nadine.
"I told you earlier ...." Arindi starts to get emotional.
"Hold Arin, baby. Yes we know how you are, but you understand ga when you get paid to eat the same guy and he told you not to be paid, do not need to be paid, you should not have to pay because if you pay it is the same as falling his self-esteem. Understand here, honey? He paid you not because he looked like you, not because you look awful in his eyes, not because you have no money but it's because he co.wok," explained Vivian at length.
Nadine and Rasya flicked their fingers together with signs agreeing with Vivian's words.
"Preciousness? Because he's a guy? Is ...."
Teeps... Rasya closed the mouth of Arindi who was about to get angry again. And stuffed a piece of cake into his mouth all of a sudden.
"Nih eat, cake pesenan you already came. Gausah bacot again. Ntar you try to contact him, say thank you and apologize and what cake.
Arindi was silent and only put mouth after mouthful of cake into her mouth. He only thinks about his actions, weighs his balance in the heart, what he does right deserves such a cold response.
"But, I guess the scroll is really easy to fall? Or how, how do I wonder which part of it is?" vivian asked a little suspiciously.
"It could be that the scroll is old" replied Nadine.
"That's yeah? Hushhh..," Vivian felt something strange.
"I'm more curious about the relationship between the two of him, how could be like if the nature of both gini," said Rasya half whispered.
"Gue can be heard bacot you, I again hold the fork..," said Arindi emotion.
Finally they were busy each other, as well as Arindi who was immersed in her own thoughts. He was still thinking about whether he was wrong and whether he should follow Rasya's advice.
Meanwhile, Tristan was still sitting inside the library. He still turned the journal in front of him occasionally taking notes in his notebook. But his concentration was slightly disturbed, he was still thinking about the incident earlier. He felt sorry for being cold with the girl but somehow he felt unable to contain his disappointment when he knew Arindi's intention came to him. Is it because he is too hopeful?
