20. Critical Passing
Daniel stood in front of the door of the Emergency Installation with a very chaotic appearance. With a loosely tied tie and a blue shirt with bloodstains drying around the chest and pockets no longer tucked neatly on the sides of his pants, from behind the glass door the man was looking at Bianca who was unconscious was getting help from medics.
The flower dress of the girl was already stained with many blood spots. Rashes and bruises appear on some of his legs and hands.
"His heart rate is weakening the doctor." Said a nurse while staring at the ECG monitor near the young patient's bed.
Doctor Peter, who had guard duty that morning, was resuscitating the patient. The doctor looked at the ECG monitor which showed a weak wave line, a sign that the patient's heart was beating slowly, and it was critical.
"Prepare defibrillator!" The doctor orders, and the nurse immediately carries a defibrillator. Clear gel is applied first to the patient's chest. Then Peter's doctor gave me a warning.
"200 joules, all clear?" Ask Doctor Peter to make sure.
"Clear!" Replied the nurses simultaneously, a sign that no one was attached to the patient or the patient's bed. And soon afterwards a heart shock device shaped like a pair of irons was affixed by a doctor to Bianca's chest. The girl then convulsed for a moment and then slipped out. ECG monitors still show weak wave lines, even almost flat. The doctor resumed resuscitation.
From behind the glass door, Daniel can see Bianca's body jerking every time the heart shock hits her chest. Doctors who handle Bianca give orders to raise the voltage when the patient's heart rate weakens.
Daniel suddenly lost his strength, his knees were loosened, the man could no longer watch the medics struggle inside, traumatic memories of his childhood re-emerged, attacking his conscience. He who was a child had to see his mother lying covered in blood on the street in front of his school.
Guilt gnawed at him like a cancer cell that was quietly creeping around like a parasite.
Daniel wept in frustration, feeling his presence like a curse that led to the fateful lives of those around him.
"360 joules, all clear?" Ask Peter again.
"Clear!" Bianca was shocked for the second time.
In a few minutes that are so long and tense, the medical team can breathe a sigh of relief because the patient's heartbeat returns to normal.
Doctor Peter came out of the room, followed by several nurses who had taken care of the patients inside. He smiled faintly at a man who looked very messed up.
"You're Miss Bianca's lover?" Peter asked the doctor to wake Daniel up. Daniel who did not understand what kind of behavior should choose to nod his head quickly.
"How's Bianca doing Doc?" Daniel asked impatiently.
"His heart rate has returned to normal but his condition is still critical. Just pray for me."
Peter patted Daniel on the shoulder before leaving.
The man returned towards the direction of the Emergency Installation door. The blood-soaked dress has been changed with blue hospital clothes.
"Why are you doing something stupid like this, Bianca?" Daniel muttered, looking at Bianca who was lying weak, unconscious.
"Dani's..." Alicia called.
"It's okay." Reply Daniel. But Alicia who has known the character of the man for a long time knows better. Alicia suspects that Daniel is reminded of his late mother who also experienced something similar with Bianca.
"I've contacted Bianca's parents maybe they'll be here soon." Bianca.
"Thank you Cia." Daniel said sincerely.
Alicia who felt her little name was called again by her boyhood friend, felt blushed.

"Fuck, what did you do to my daughter?" Terrence cried when he saw Daniel sitting with Alicia. The man grabbed Daniel's collar and cornered Daniel into the hospital wall.
That morning he canceled his business meeting in China because his wife called him on her secretary's phone that Bianca had a pretty bad accident.
Like being struck by lightning in broad daylight, the middle-aged man decided to cancel his flight and hurriedly boarded the car to get to the hospital.
Mr. Terrence asked his secretary to rearrange his meetings with business colleagues in China. The middle-aged man told the surrounding people to find out who had dared to harm his daughter
It didn't take long for Mr. Terrence to figure out the cause of his daughter's accident. While on his way to the hospital, Hong's secretary, who has been following him for a long time, receives a call from Mr. Terrence's confidants detailing the cause of Bianca's accident.
Mr. Terrence grew furious when he heard his daughter desperately saved Daniel so that he was the victim. He was so angry when he heard that someone from behind a jeep car just ran when it hit his daughter
"Find out who the Jeep passengers are until they get it." Sir Terrence's orders were cold.
Daniel who received the anger of Mr. Terrence just fell silent resigned. Daniel understood what Mr. Terrence was doing. It is a common thing for parents to see their daughters get into trouble because of others.
Alicia who was shocked did not comment anything. On the one hand he wanted to defend Daniel and say the man was innocent but his guts were too small to see that the Bianca family was not from among ordinary people.
Jacob and Lady Liliana had just arrived afterwards. Jacob, who saw his father corrupting Daniel, immediately calmed his father.
"Pa, don't fight in the hospital." Jacob said reminding them where they are at the moment. Mr. Terrence violently throws Daniel away and joins his wife to see Bianca from behind the door.
"My daughter.." mistress Liliana sobbed and master Terrence immediately hugged her to calm his wife's feelings.
They've already lost his daughter, Mr. Terrence hopes he won't lose his daughter a second time. Otherwise, he would never have been able to forgive himself and would not have allowed the people involved to live freely when it had already harmed his daughter
