Chapter 9: Training Begins! [II]
Plop!
A pair of shackles wrapped around both my hands and my feet. It also happened to all seniors, even so they looked bigger and heavier than mine.
"Hmm? What was? Why does it seem that senior property looks stronger?" Plain ask.
"Ah, that's right too. We haven't told you yes. This shackle is actually made of mana-proof stone. The ones in your hands and at your feet are real-size stones. As for the stone that you saw on us, it was the stone that had been influenced by where we belonged. The larger the mana a person has, the larger the size and weight of the stone." Said a teenage boy with his long black hair pigtailed.
"Eh!? So mine's the lightest!?" I'm not believing.
They all nodded in response to my words. While my cheeks warmed up in embarrassment when I realized how weak I was compared to all the seniors.
"Wait what else huh!? Do you want me to lead you!? Hurry up or I double your practice time!?" Shana's sister is full of energy.
Everyone immediately ran. No exception to me.
I stepped my feet, through the grass and the dry reeds that accompanied our journey. Huge, towering trees blocked the sunlight that was supposed to hit us.
Right now, I am the weakest among them, and I am also the last one among them.
I stopped swinging my legs, At first glance a memory sprung up in my head. I wiped my sweat, and closed my eyes for a moment. Withdrawing breaths that are hunting me. Right now, my body is reaching my limit. But not with my spirit. For some reason, I felt full of vigor in the morning exercises that should stifle my chest.
"Nonius! Wait for me heh!?" A voice stopped my footsteps.
I sighed, and slapped a bit of hot sweat pouring down my forehead.
I turned towards a long black haired girl with charming amethyst eyes. He bowed out of breath, his black hair fluttering toyed with the passing wind. He looked at me.
I smiled at her tired eyes.
My laughter grew louder as the girl grumbled in front of me.
"Hmph! Why do you have to be the one who wants to!?" His grunts were upset as he walked up to me.
He walked past me like he didn't care. My hand moved, grabbing his long black hair that was bound and pulling it abruptly.
"Ack! Shit!" She turned angry when I managed to pull her hair.
While I just laugh no matter. He grumbled more and more while tidying back his hair that I was ruffled.
"Hmph! I don't want to be friends with you anymore!"
"Oh? Really true?"
"Of course!"
He ran away from me again. Her face was flushed, whether it was shame or anger, I could not understand the girl's feelings - no matter how and what. I can only smile. After a while, he stopped for a moment.
Turned her pretty face red and directed her amethyst eyes at me who was still smiling. Our eyes looked. Until then, her cheeks turned red and quickly turned back away from my gaze. I sighed as I watched her little back get further away from me.
...
I ran and kept running. Lunge foliage and race the hot June wind. I took my hot breath.
My steps came to a halt, looking blankly at the shadows leaving. Yeah, I'm a lot farther behind than them.
Tests.
Sweat was pouring from my body, some of them falling and soaking hot and heavy shackles on my hands and feet. One, two, three breaths I was racing at my own pace. Every now and then look up at the blue sky of summer.
Me, I will definitely be back!
