Chapter 7.5: Ancestor
Ancestor, a legend-level existence in this world. You could say Ancestor is the messenger of the protective god to oversee and mediate all the problems that exist in every continent. Throughout history, there have been many recorded Ancestors. But, from what I knew when I stole the lessons from the two sons of Kaelmiff's daughter, the whereabouts of the Ancestors themselves were too mysterious, to even state that they had been dead-for so long.
Throughout the generations, the masters who bear the name of the anchestor kept changing. Except the first five ancestors.
The man's expression turned sharply aware of my words.
"Oh? You really have a sharp mind huh.."
I just kept quiet in responding to his words.
"Before that, there was a I-"
"Isn't it not good if you keep twitching? and again, isn't it useless for you to keep hiding it?"
"You're this..really impatient huh.. but after that, can you tell me why you can know I'm one of the Ancestors?"
"I see, my guess is right."
"You're expecting it? well, if that's the case, it's meaningless that I'm hiding my identity."
"Hmm?"
"Have you heard of the first ancestor, the messenger of the god of death?"
I jerked. After all, the entity from the ancestors alone was arguably the highest among the highest, but he, the first ancestor.
"Aahaha! Look at that shocked expression of yours! Well, since you already know my identity, so, answer my question."
"simple. First, you saved me. It's impossible if you're just a regular guy who goes hunting. Given the place, it was one of the forbidden forests. Inside were only demons and dark-rooted monsters that could not even be eaten. So, is it possible for a man to hunt monsters?"
"Oh? that so? makes sense, I guess. But, why are you directly aiming for an identity as an ancestor? I could be an adventurer, right?"
"That's right. If you remember that you ventured into the forbidden forest, and again, you have information about me, indeed, you could be an adventurer. But, one other thing, I was already drowning by then. It's a little unlikely that you're an adventurer. The unwritten rule of an adventurer is, avoid what is unnecessary. So, how could they even care about a drowning child and the small possibility of his life? If it was you, then sure enough, you could do what no one else could do. Am I wrong?"
"Hmm, your deduction is still a little rough. But I admit, it's great, but I've narrowed down the possibility of me giving out important information. Unexpectedly, you found him. Haish. If this is the case, then you only have two choices"
"So my student or die!" Stringency.
...□ □ □...
The corner of my mouth twitches. "Hey, you don't really want to give me a choice!"
"Hoo, of course. After all, shouldn't I have to claim you as your disciple as soon as possible before the other ancestors come?"
I took a long breath.
"Wait on! Is there another ancestor?"
"Hmm, ah, sure"
I was quite surprised when I realized my place was. Ancestral ground, top-tier continent!
"U-ugh. somehow I feel a little dizzy" I said with a puzzled expression.
"Well, it's only natural that you're feeling confused right now, after all, this is a top-tier continent!" Proudly said.
At this moment he looked so radiant with his rays of pride. My eyes were blazing at that glare of his.
"Ah, well, well, I understand, so master.." I said a little thought about his name.
"Yama, you can call me Yama" he said.
"From this moment on, I will become your disciple completely, Master Yama!" I said a little while subduing my body.
"Okay, this is my first commandment! Eat it and take care of your body for the next few days!" Her speech.
"L-anu.."
"I don't take questions!" Say it before you leave the room.
I smiled bitterly, "isn't he a bit irritating?"
