Now the sun is shining again with light, reflecting the glitter of the ocean that looks so brilliant. The condition of the waters is now very different from the situation last night. But thank goodness our journey after that can run safely.
After this long journey, our ship finally managed to dock on a bay beach in the north of Angker Island.
The sails began to roll back and the anchors were lowered from our ship. All the crew began to set foot on this land with the rest assigned to keep the ship here.
Black sand and sharp rocky shells greeted our steps after setting foot on land. I (Canis Lupus) who was sweeping the path of the Commander of the army was unceasingly astonished, seeing the terrible land that greeted us from a distance.
"Pacify yourself, there is no need for fear, and eliminate all the bad things that are on your mind. If not, then you will drown in regret" said Mr. Dirus slowly, warning the troops.
We continued our steps carefully. Passing through the rocks that had been stepped on, now replaced with black sand that feels rough on the footwear.
Behind the fog that enveloped us, there were two towering cliffs. Between them was a narrow valley that seemed to be the only road we had to cross.
No need to think long, Mr. Dirus also led the journey. Our bodies must be set aside to fit when walking through a narrow valley like a clasp.
After a long time crossing the valley that was so narrow, the terrain seemed to begin to change in front of. But it seems to have emerged a more troublesome path, namely the geyser path that spits out scorching hot steam.
As we slowly stepped on the deadly geyser field, there were a few silhouettes of shadows behind the scattering steam dew.
The shadows seemed to be moving closer to the line, then all the troops began to alert themselves and the mind. Because they don't know if they're a threat or not.
But suddenly a wooden spear shot towards me through the thick fog that blocked my view. Even I who was surprised by that could not determine what action I had to take to dispel the spear. But Mr. Dirus nimbly managed to slash the wooden spear right in front of my face.
Almost my head is hollow if it is pierced by the spear. Even with the current condition of his body, the ability of Mr. Dirus still cannot be underestimated. It is not wrong if all his troops are very reluctant and respectful to him.
"Be alert. Create circular formations against each other. We don't know what's behind the fog and the steam" Mr. Dirus said quietly.
We did what he told us too. With this formation, we can protect each other. But still, the fog and steam that continues to spray make the defense blocked.
We were on standby and tried to track with our sharp noses. But uselessly, the hot vapors of the geysers make this field moist and difficult to detect scents with our noses.
One by one the wooden spears were again launched towards us. But it can be overcome with this circular formation. But we were unable to detect who or what was carrying out the attack on us. They always disappeared after throwing these wooden spears.
While we were still busy with the coming of the spears, suddenly came a winged creature that lunged at one of our colleagues and took him flying with the claws of his feet.
"Ahool~ Ahool~" Sounded the voice of the creature.
Then came another similar creature that came crashing into our colleagues who had been hanging in the air. Then the two creatures pull each other and tear their bodies together until they are cut off from each other.
"Ahool~ Ahool~ Ahool~ Ahool~ Ahool~"
Not just one or two, but many similar creatures that turned out to have flown around above us. The creature looked like a monkey with large bat wings around its arms.
"Slow down and split up!" shouted Mr. Dirus.
The Ahool creatures shot towards us as they spread their claws, preparing to hit us. But we managed to dodge by looking down and running with all four of our legs around this terrain.
After the arrival of Ahool-Ahool, it seems that the shadows that pelted us with wooden spears had disappeared from here. But still we are preoccupied with other problems at the moment.
Hearing that, the Canis troops began to attack Ahool-Ahool by lunging to jump high or scramble by climbing the cliffs around this terrain. We pounced on the strange creatures with our claws and fangs, dragging them to the ground or tearing their wings down.
Until finally the Ahool gave up and fled from our safest to their nests on a steep cliff.
"The Demons. They are always troublesome" muttered Mr. Dirus.
"Are you okay, Mister?" ask me to worry about Mr. Dirus' condition.
"I don't think I'm going to be so pitiful that I'm worried about a snot boy like you" said Mr. Dirus with a tired grin. "I think I'm just a burden to you all."
"Of course not, Commander!" sahut a colleague of ours. "Without interruption from you, this army will not be able to survive until now."
"Ha Ha's... Whatever you say," responded Mr. Dirus. "No need for further ado, we must keep hurrying. I've started to feel it's close."
After that, we continued our journey to go to the center of Angker Island to find something that was not known what it was. But said Mr. Dirus, 'that' is very important, especially for our people, the Canis. That was why the teams sent to this island were all Wolves of the Canis Tribe. And the rest are forbidden to do so. Maybe that's why dad wouldn't let me tell Arctos and Tigris about all this stuff. *(Episode 9)
Our journey continues. Climbing hills, down valleys, across rivers, to other sinister fields filled with terrible demons and monsters, and there are many of our battles against all of them that have prevented us from achieving our goals.
Until finally we reached the center of Angker Island where in this place there is a large stone building with many statues and stupas everywhere. In addition to wild plants propagate in all areas, showing a magnificent panorama as well as creepy as ancient ruins left behind.
At first everything seemed quiet and quiet. We climbed the stone steps to reach the top of our main goal.
But suddenly appeared tens, hundreds, to thousands of creatures that looked like a hairy man who was carrying a spear and pole as a weapon. They blocked our way while brandishing their weapons.
It seems like these feathered creatures pelted us with spears from behind the mist during our journey on this island.
"O dear Hominid Tribes, we are your distant relatives from across the sea, wishing to say hello and meet your leader" cried Mr. Dirus to the creatures who confronted.
Wait up!
Ah, right too. How could I forget. Arctos once told me that the Island of the Angker is the residence of one of the Hayawan Tribe who was driven from the village, the Hominid Tribe. And here they were led by the Giant Ape Demon who was appointed as the 5th Khan. *(Episode 4)
So this is the Hominid Tribe. They are not furry men, but Wanaras. Is it possible because of this thick fog and the demons that have always attacked us all this time, so I guess that they are also mindless demons.
I never thought I'd be the first to see any of this than Arctos or Tigris. They must be envious after hearing the story of my adventure on this island.
"Let your weapons down, boys."
Suddenly there was a big sound from the top of this stone building accompanied by the sound of steps approaching the crowd around us.
After hearing the voice and the coming of the step, the Hominids who swarmed against us now paved the way for the creature that approached us.
And there appeared a giant, glittering silver-haired monkey that looked so very old was walking straight towards our line with his front two hands as a foothold.
"I'm sorry we couldn't have welcomed you. My children even put a lot of obstacles on your journey. Maybe this is just a misunderstanding between the locals and the migrants" the great ape said in a soft, big voice.
"Greetings, Khan Hominid: Rewanda the Monkey."
