The End of the World - Story I
Battle: Eastern (2)

“It seems that you are too old for all this, Teacher,” said a man who came to Basita who was on the ground.

“Wirasana... It seems that your archery technique is good enough,” replied Basita while grinning cynically at the man in front of her.

“Unfortunately I haven't been able to beat you fairly. No, maybe never,” said the man, who is also one of the Knights: Wirasana the Hamung Tuwuh.

“I'll be a failed teacher if my own students can't surpass me,”

“There can be a Man who can surpass you. You are the strongest Man in the world.”

“Unfortunately Humans are Only Humans. Can't win against age.”

“Rightly ... But it would be a sad story if a disciple killed his own teacher in this filthy war.

Therefore, I challenge you, O my teacher: Basita the Murwa Kunkara, to a one-on-one fair duel against me: Wirasana the Hamung Tuwuh to win the title of the strongest man in the world.”

“... I honestly don't care if I give that title to my students ... But not for yourself.”

“You think the Prince will be better than me?”

“Remember that it is better not just to be seen from strength,” replied Basita as she stood up and pulled her sword from the ground. “For that title to fall into the right hands, then I won't let anyone else get it before him. Including yourself.”

Basita re-established his old bodies and formed sturdy horses with both feet. His hands tightly gripped the sword hilt and re-channeled a huge energy at him.

Wirasana who saw it grinned, then joined to install horses with a large arrow bow in his left hand, while his right hand was preparing to pull the thread that had been stored magical arrows there.

“Then I will prove that I will not disappoint my teacher.”

Instantly after saying that, Wirasana pulled the bow and released it. Launched a glowing arrow that drove down the old Basita.

Quickly, the sword in Basita's hand slashed the arrow into two pieces. Before long, another arrow shot towards him. Not one or two, it was dozens of arrows released towards him.

With a quick movement, like time had stopped except for him, he dodged and slashed all the arrows in one fell swoop like a war dance.

Before the arrows he had split fell to the ground, there had already come back dozens of arrows that had been thrown at him. He went back and cut it.

It keeps repeating itself several times. Basita continued little by little to get closer to Wirasana. While Wirasana trying to keep a distance from the range of the enemy's sword duel.

Feeling that Basita was getting tired, Wirasana launched a large arrow with a bright light towards Basita who was still swinging her sword while adjusting her breath.

The arrow shot very fast. Faster than Basita's sword. We can still avoid it a little. But the arrow still managed to hit his right arm.

After getting the wound, Basita's right hand fell limp and could no longer be used. His sword grip began to loosen. And the sword swing was not as fast as before.

Basita who got an attack from all directions also waved his sword twisting horizontally to brush off all the arrows.

But with only one hand, Basita was unable to hold all the arrows. That way some of the arrows fell piercing through the body of the toddler. He fell to his knees on the ground.

Wirasana took the opportunity to jump up high and shoot a large arrow from above. Targeting the end of Basita's head that was being sluggishly bowed.

But before the arrow reached Basita's head, it had disappeared from where it should have been. And now it is behind the back of Wirasana that has landed. Poking a sword at his back and ending the duel between this teacher and disciple.

“Hah, I was fooled ... Why did you stop?”

“The job of a teacher is to give teaching and knowledge to his students, not punish him.”

“You wouldn't think so if you knew my sins. Maybe everyone on this continent has the right to punish me for those sins.”

“Sin will only be committed if you have a wish. Then whatever sin you commit, there must be a strong desire behind it.”

“... You really understand everything.”

“No. No one understands everything in this world. Even the Emperor Akbar.

I won't ask what you want. But if you have to make all these sacrifices, it must be a great desire.”

“Ya, very big wish.”

Basita releases her sword at Wirasana. He took the bow from him and ordered him to surrender.

“Duel between two squad leaders is a symbol of the fight of both his troops,” Basita said.

“The victory of the leader is the victory of his entire army and the defeat of the leader is the defeat of his entire army,” Wirasana said.

...~ ◊ ~...

Such was the end of the duel between the two leaders of the army: Basita the Murwa Kunkara, one of the Commanders of the Prince I troops who won over Wirasana the Hamung Tuwuh, part of the ‘Pangreksa’ General of the King Angkara army.

According to the ethics of war of the Human Nation, the end of the duel became the end of the battle in the eastern desert with victory in the hands of Prince I's troops.

Thus the eastern defences of the Angkara Kingdom were officially conquered by the forces of Devision IV led by Basita the Murwa Kunkara.

The eastern route finally opened. So the army of the Revised V Infantry led by Bramanta the Lelana was able to pass through it to help the IV Division, to continue the battle against the capital.

While the Wirasana troops will retreat back to the capital of the Angkara Kingdom.
