Chapter 27: The Truth (Lola)

Gaea smiled glitteringly at her best friend, without thinking she immediately went down the stairs, was ready to spread her hand to hug Lola, but her best friend actually reached out forward to stop her.

"Stop." Lola ordered. "Residentiality later. Where's Eryk?" tanyanya cold.

"Huh?" why did Lola's nature change so drastically? What are the effects of jet lag?

Eryk who went down the stairs casually said. "What's the day you're making a fuss? Just got to show you your fangs."

Lola clenched her hands, all the emotions she held back for two days exploded as well. "You! I spent seven years keeping Gaea a secret to the world, but you did something embarrassing like that!?"

Gaea was stunned to hear Lola's scream.

What does Lola mean? Gaea doesn't understand, hiding herself from the world? He did hide his true identity, but Lola did not know so how could it be?

His head was about to break with this mystery.

Eryk was completely unaffected by Lola's emotions, his face flat. "Young Miss, this mistake is not just me, ask your best friend there..."

Lola did not want to look at Gaea at all, answering coldly. "He's not my best friend. You said I was just his bodyguard..."

Gaea felt her heart being sliced to hear Lola say they were not best friends, how could Lola's attitude change drastically after not meeting for two days?

"I don't have time for your babble Lola, save it later, I want to go have business" said Eryk coldly, he stepped up but was stopped by Lola. "Don't test me Lola."

But Lola did not move in the slightest.

Eryk lost his temper. "You asked for it" he said coldly. "Ferdinand, hold him."

Only then did Lola move, she jumped up, hugging Eryk tightly. "I won't let you go until we're done talking."

Eryk tries to free himself aided by Ferdinand. "This one woman." she lamented still trying to let go, but it was difficult because Lola's legs locked her waist so she couldn't move much. "Rainer, Alex help me dong." he's overwhelmed asking for help too.

Rainer and Alex finally move in to help Lola's deadly embrace.

Gaea who saw him was in shock; where did that great power come from? Lola has always been a helpless woman! He bowed.

Or is it all just acting?

Gaea bit her lower lip.

How many people hide their secrets from her?

Is Ava included? His most innocent friend?

Eryk tidied his clothes and hair were disheveled due to Lola. "You told me I'd still be naughty."

Lola, who was held by Ferdinand's confinement, attempted to revolt. "You made me like this yourself, you idiot! I was acting only for you to destroy the plans for a ring!? My time of eleven years was wasted, appreciate my efforts before proposing to him!"

Gaea was surprised not to play; even Lola did not want to say her name, when nagging also sounded so disgusting when saying a proposal.

Eryk who couldn't stand Lola's cry finally opened his voice. "It's not just about you, I also feel useless, you think how long I spent for Gaea, huh? Twelve years, so Young Miss before nagging think widely first."

Gaea scratched her non-itchy arm; twelve years old? Though he had only met Eryk a year ago so how could it be twelve years? Is something wrong? Eryk's memory or hers?

Lola looked sharply at Eryk before then climbing upstairs while stomping her legs irritated.

Eryk exhaled. "Nobody's book ripped Alex off?" his tanyanya made sure once again after he felt something sore on his back.

Alex immediately checks everything is fine until he uncovers Eryk's suit and finds a tear in the young man's shirt back. "You gotta change shirts, man,"

"Good," Eryk murmured, and lethargicly returned to his room to change.

The atmosphere was silent for a moment...

"You want to know why Lola is like that, right?" Rainer opened his voice.

Gaea who was still feeling sad, nodded.

"Sadly, that's how Lola's true nature, the Lola you've known all along is a charade," Rainer explained quietly so Gaea wouldn't get hurt.

That's the real Lola? A woman who is strong and has explosive emotions is not sexy and seductive?

Gaea doesn't believe it! He immediately followed to where Lola was without caring about Rainer and Alex's screams. He was a little confused because there were many bedrooms here. Forced to check one-on-one starting from the end.

Everything was locked, until it arrived at the empty room next to Eryk, the door unlocked.

Gaea peered inside and was right there Lola, sitting by the chin-backed window, calmed down.

"What do you want?" Lola asked without glancing at Gaea at all.

Gaea went inside and closed the door. "I want to talk to you, Lola."

"There's nothing I want to talk to you about" Lola said coldly

Gaea placed her hand on her chest. "I want to talk to my best friend."

The sound of Lola's broken laughter sounded mocking. "It wasn't clear yet? I'm not your best friend, I'm just your bodyguard."

Gaea still refused to believe it. "I can't believe it,"

Flashbacks

"Why should I?" ask Lola in wonder.

"Because you're a girl, Gaea a girl" Eryk replied casually.

Lola refused it. "I don't want to live as a little person! Where is our home too? Why don't we have a house like this?"

Eryk was pensive, where might he say all his property was taken by Kervyn. Is this also Lola behaved like the Princess, she was just adopted by her father for two years, previously ordinary life must have been lived Lola right? Why should protest? "Our money has been taken by everyone, only the remaining one will is the money I can only take when I am twenty years old."

Lola's eyes widened. "Four years I have to live in the filthy apartment that Gaea lives in? Don't want to."

"You overestimated the situation" Eryk said. "You two can help each other out, Lola."

"What about you?" ask Lola.

"I? I'm the same but I don't want to be close to you" said Eryk—, especially Gaea, he couldn't see the little girl without a burst of anger in his heart.

Lola is shocked; living with Gaea but away with Eryk? He obviously doesn't want to! "I want to be with you!" he admits to being timid, and approaches Eryk. "We can be together until our money comes back." he continued then ventured to hug the young man gently so that Eryk did not rebel. "At that time, maybe we could have been more..."

Eryk immediately took off Lola's embrace. "You and I are brothers, what are you thinking?" the tan was cold and a little disgusted thinking he and Lola could be more than brothers.

Lola laughed bitterly, of course Eryk would reject her, but he would not give up. "We're not siblings, ever since I walked into your house, I've fallen in love with you!" the emotion before then being sad. "I'm trying to get rid of it, because we're living in one house makes it difficult, I'm not taking advantage of your father's death but it's an opportunity to be close to you as a girl instead of a brother." she admits sadly.

Eryk on the other hand had mixed feelings; annoyance, disgust and pity. "It's also good as a way of forgetting me. Hurry up to Gaea's place" she said coldly, turning around to leave Lola.

Lola stomped her feet in frustration, she had lowered her self-esteem by expressing her feelings but Eryk instead acted as if his feelings were rubbish, he immediately chased after the young man, who was just like that, turning Eryk's body and fusing their lips together— made his last attempt.

The kissed Eryk suddenly froze for a few seconds, forcing Lola until she fell onto the asphalt, wiping her lips quickly. "My lips are stained..."

Lola grimacing. "Am I that dirty in your eyes, Eryk!?"

Eryk threw away his gaze, now he could not see Lola without a sense of disgust. "You and I are brothers, kissing you is disgusting to me not to you alone Lola." she wiped her lips again with a handkerchief this time before then continued her steps. "Our relationship won't change until the end of the world."

These words succeeded in making Lola cry.

Flashback Done

"I went to your place and did my job." Lola stopped with a small breath.

Gaea did not believe this so Lola had been with him on Eryk's orders all along? And what made her sad was whether Lola's attitude and feelings were also fake? There's only one way to find out. "You've been acting fake too?"

"Not everything, rather I just play your best friend, who supports you in times of joy and sorrow." Lola explained in a cynical tone of voice. "Because of Eryk's proposal, I'm done being your best friend."

Gaea could not accept it. "Did you not consider me a friend at all?"

Lola rolled her eyeballs. "You were still my friend before you accepted Eryk's stupid proposal,"

Gaea recalled Lola telling me she was in love with Eryk—"You still like Eryk?"

For that Lola thought for a moment. "I don't think I know, Eryk meant it when he said staying with you would forget how I felt about him because after that incident we didn't see each other for a year, we only communicate through Alexander" he explained. "You're satisfied to ask? Anything else? I'm going to bed. I'm not paid for this" he said.

Gaea feels Lola is treating herself like a stranger when they have lived together for eleven years, she is sure Lola does not completely hate her just maybe upset she is engaged to Eryk. Might as well. "Do you know why Eryk ordered you to be my Bodyguard?"

"I don't know either, I didn't ask that question because I used to think he just wanted peace because our father was gone" Lola said.

So Lola did not know the purpose, the only way was to ask Eryk directly.

"Thank you and rest in peace Lola" said Gea walking out of Lola's room, closing the door with a heavy heart.

Gaea thinks with Lola, the atmosphere will be better, who would have thought it would worsen.

"Something seems to know the truth..."

Gaea turned her head, there Eryk was already complete with his new clothes, an idea popped into his head. "Can I come?"
