Shhhh... It's my secret
07. Secret Communication Tools

Thomas walked into his study on the second floor. Gazelle was just following where her grandfather was headed.

As Thomas said, the reason for Gazelle's arrival was not because he missed his grandfather, there was another reason. The reason that makes him always excited every time he comes to this house, is because of a secret communication tool.

The secret communication device is an attacker or pager. Gazelle's father and mother used to use pagers as telecommunications devices to send and receive short messages to Gazelle. Messages sent using numeric digits only, usually showing the latitude and longitude of the meeting point of Gazelle and her parents.

It's just that this pager is different from the usual pager, this pager is specially made and there is only one in the world. So the message sent will not be accepted by other pager networks so it will not be detected by criminal agents or other legal agents. Data security is assured. In addition, the area is cross-country.

Why should be a pager? Of course, as secret agents, Elizabeth and Gregory's whereabouts should not be exposed, even if they want to meet their families. Therefore, communication is conducted in secret. Not that you can't communicate through a regular cell phone. Of course, it can be done with a disposable phone. Elizabeth and Gregory communicate via regular cell phones with Thomas.

But unlike Gazelle, this pager is a birthday gift that Gazelle asked her father and mother for on her thirteenth birthday. If normally girls at that age ask for a beautiful dress, a way to go abroad or other luxury things are different from Gazelle who only asks for a secret communication tool. He wants to communicate with his parents like a real agent.

Then from then on, every year on his birthday he always asked for gifts related to secret agent tools.

And this year, exactly one more week is Gazelle's birthday. Two months ago, the last time Gazelle met her parents she asked her father and mother to make her a secret watch.

So in exactly one week Gazelle will meet her parents as they promised. This is why Gazelle met her grandfather today.

Last night Thomas called Gazelle, saying that a message had entered the pager. This pager was deliberately kept in Thomas's residence. Thomas was able to make this pager an excuse for Gazelle to visit him.

"It's hard to meet his own grandson" Thomas said as he walked around his desk. Behind him, Gazelle had been standing next to Thomas' desk. The girl's eyes sparkled waiting for her grandfather to open the safe behind the painting hanging behind the desk.

"Ehm" said Thomas, turning to Gazelle as he removed the hanging. Deheman Thomas's voice was a code for Gazelle not to see him when he opened the safe.

"Ah almost forgot" Gazelle said, turning to her grandfather. "Please grandfather, I won't see him" he smiled cunningly.

Of course he did not need to see it because he already knew his grandfather's passcode, he knew how to crack the passcode thanks to the knowledge taught by his mother.

Even so, he did not intend to open his grandfather's personal safe because for Gazelle there is a reason why people need a secret place that no one should know and he respected that reason.

Tut tut tut tut ... Clack.

The safe door opens. His voice made Gazelle's heart flutter. Thomas pulled out a pager from inside the safe. Then shut the safe back.

Gazelle, who knew that the safe door had closed again, immediately turned to look at grandfather and walked over to him. Seeing Gazelle who was impatient then grandfather immediately gave the pager to him.

Grandfather only smiled faintly at the behavior of his granddaughter while putting the painting back against the wall. Gazelle sat down quickly to the sofa in the middle of the room. He opened the pager and read the message inside.

Multiple digit numbers are listed on the pager screen. Looking at the figures Gazelle quickly opened up a map of Novastica island arranged on a table in front of the sofa. His hand moved quickly following the direction indicated by the numbers listed on the pager.

"Washoku Restaurant" Gazelle said quickly after finding the point in question in the pager. Then Gazelle read again the numbers in the second row on the pager, the numbers indicating the meeting time. In the pager it is written that the meeting time is around 04.00 pm.

Gazelle tidied up the map he had just opened. As he walked to his grandfather's desk, Thomas was reading a newspaper this morning.

"So we're going there? Washoku Restaurant?" thomas asked who had been listening to Gazelle's words ever since.

"Right grandpa," he said, putting the pager back on his grandfather's desk. "Four o'clock in the afternoon. Oh, did Grandpa prepare a gift for me?" he teased his grandfather.

"What do you want?" ask grandpa later.

"Car" Gazelle said, widening his smile. The gift he asked his grandfather every year and of course every year the request was rejected. This time he said the same thing because he was sure that Thomas would reject him.

"Well, what kind of car do you want?" thomas answered suddenly while folding the newspaper he had read earlier. The answer left Gazelle shocked and almost dropped the small jade statue that was on the table.

Gazelle stared in disbelief at Thomas who was opening an automotive magazine in his hand while leaning back in his chair.

"Grandfather? Grandpa's not kidding, is he?" tanyanya still can't believe it.

"Typically teenagers like you like the smaller kind, how about this" Thomas said, putting a magazine on his desk and pointing to a picture of a car on one of the pages. "How's it?" he asked again, looking at Gazelle.

The shocked Gazelle could only shut up. Then his facial expression changed, he narrowed his eyes looking sharply at his grandfather's face and folded his hands to his chest. The instincts of a secret agent are turbulent.

"the gesture? What's the condition for me to get that car?" Gazelle replied to grandfather's question with another question.

"Wahh grandfather's grandson was quick to respond apparently," said his grandfather who was found to have hidden intentions in his words just now. "Of course you'll have to go back and live with your grandfather" Grandpa continued, leaning his head against his chair.

"Aahhh grandfather," Gazelle said sounding lazy. "It's even harder than being asked to move up the ranks." He threw himself onto the sofa he had been sitting on. "If grandpa didn't want to just say no, he grumbled.

"Grandfather didn't say no, you're the one who can't qualify." Thomas smiled at Gazelle. "Didn't you want to go to school?" ask Thomas then.

"Grandfather doesn't like me here anymore?" gazelle said scowl.

"If you don't like it, maybe Grandpa asked you to come back here. But see what time it is? Half an hour later the school starts." Thomas took his phone and made a call.

"Take Gazelle to school" Thomas said in a voice behind the phone, which was none other than Liam, Thomas' personal driver.

Gazelle who heard Thomas' words immediately stood up straight. "Grandfather... I can take public transport from here" whined Gazelle.

"Well, and you'll be half an hour late if you take the bus. Let Liam take you, he knows the fastest way to get to your school" Thomas explains.

"Good grandfather," said Gazelle who had stood ready, he wanted to refuse but he only realized that the clock was moving fast. He must arrive on time if he does not want to be punished.

"And this," said the grandfather as he opened his desk drawer. He pulled out a paper bag inside which was a small black box with Lucas' name on it. "Give this to your principal."

Gazelle stood up and moved to pick up the paper bag. Gazelle glanced at the name on the box before it was put in her backpack. Reading the name made him smile knot, he reflected again the face of Lucas who was upset.

"Don't bother him" Thomas said suddenly to Gazelle, who was moving towards him to give him a hug before leaving. "Today grandfather let it go, but no other time" Thomas said firmly.

Shortly before Gazelle came to his house, Thomas got a call from Frank Sinnister, the principal of WhiteSwan High School, to his house, he wanted to ask Lucas Theodore why he came to school early in the morning if it was Thomas who asked for it.

Of course Thomas never did that, he had never even communicated with Lucas directly. A surprised Thomas calls Rosie, and Rosie tells Thomas what happened this morning with nothing covered.

Thomas only took a deep breath after finding out that this was his grandson. This time he let in but of course there was no other time. He is also strict in the rules.

"Did the school security call grandpa?" gazelle asked scowl at her grandfather's threat.

"Frank called grandpa. Be careful Gazelle. Just because Frank knows who you really are doesn't mean he can't discipline you. Take this box to him and apologize to him" Thomas ordered.

"Good grandpa." Gazelle obeyed his grandfather's orders. He understood he was wrong, but he did not expect Grandpa would know this. Gazelle said goodbye to her grandfather.
