First Mission: Divine Beast [1]

Autumn has been here for a few weeks. Now many leaves are starting to fall. Yellowing, falling, and rotting on the ground of the Azure sect did not budge in the face of any season that approached it.

Cold air blew through the entire valley, blowing away the fragile leaves that were still attached to its branches. Smoke from the hot water vapor rose a few centimeters from the glass containing green tea. Yu Jian sat cross-legged on the floor. In front of him there is a short table with several glasses and a teapot. One of them has been filled by the tea that abru finished made.

When he reached this room he found Xian Yu already in this place. Even Xian Yu was brewing tea on Yu Jian as he had just sat down for a few seconds.

In the morning, while Yu Jian was watering Yi Wei's new plant he was asked to go to the sect head's place. Without knowing the problem Yu Jian went towards the highest peak number two in the sect.

“So, have you decided your resolve? The determination you will use in traveling the martial path?” Xian Yu opened the topic.

Yu Jian recalled his first meeting with Xian Yu. At that moment Xian Yu questioned the determination and path that Yu Jian was about to reach on the martial path.

“I became a martial artist to be able to stand beside him.” Yu Jian did not point to Xian Yu as to who he would stand next to.

The door shifted and saw an elder enter the room. His hair was white and tied up like a giant ball on his head. Once he entered Xian Yu moved from his position and served tea to the elder, while Yu Jian was still trying to remember the elder's name.

“The two of you have come.. Nice-good... How are you, son Xian Yu, son Yu Jian?” ask the elder.

“My news is fine elder Wen. How's the elder doing? If from what I noticed you look bright like the girls in this sect.” Xian Yu praised

“Stop that, don't you see these wrinkles on my face. You can equate middle-aged women like me with the beauties of our sect.” elder Wen brushed aside.

“No-no, brightness is not just a pretty appearance. But also the spirit of youth that radiates in you.” Xian Yu continued to attack.

“Heh... So the young one in me is just my spirit and brightness huh? My face remains like an old man?”

A hint of sweat came out from Xian Yu's forehead. All the elders in the Azure Sect almost entirely had problems with his narcissistic personality and wanted to be young again. One of them was master Zhang and elder Wen. Xian Yu sent Yu Jian a flickering code several times to help him.

Yu Jian gasped when he heard that possibility. Plus he just found out that Xian Yu is the candidate of the head of this sect. After all Hao Chen was the son of the sect head Hao Guanting.

“It's a pity that it won't happen anytime soon. Yu Jian was still too naive, lacking in experience, and ambition that could lead him to the candidate position. But if he still wants to be a candidate amak I have no problem competing with him.” Xian Yu stared intently at Yu Jian with a small smile.

“Not... No... No... I'm not interested in that position.” Yu Jian shook his head strongly.

So I plan to send elder Zhang and Xian Yu to deal with one, while Yu Jian and a few others take care of the other divine beasts.” said the sect elder.

“Divine beast! Isn't that too hard? For me to go with elder Zhang might have a chance, but Yu Jian and the others could-be dead.” Xian Yu protested.

“Then I will accept this first task. On this mission I was released to appoint anyone who came, right?” Yu Jian made sure

“You and Yi Wei are required to join.for you as the first mission and Yi Wei because of the rumors that the divine beast you are aiming for is a poison snake.” the sect head suggested

“Alright then, I will be ready soon along with the others.” After saying that Yu Jian left the room.

Divine Beasts

Divine Beasts were animals that had the talent of cultivating and absorbing Qi. Divine beast power was at the tiers of several master to saint level experts. They are wild creatures with no sense living in the harsh heavenly mountains so that no one can conquer them. Usually divine beasts would be hunted by powerful experts for their harm and efficacy as Qi enhancement materials as well as weapons.

Some of the animals that are categorized as divine beasts are imoogi, divine white tiger, thunder eagle, and dragon/dragon. In the caste of divine beasts imoogi, white tiger, and thunder eagle were at the same level, while dragons were at the top of chains.
