In the Name of a Mate

In the Name of a Mate
Chapter 51: Help Me

The cold wind made the black-hijab girl tighten her jacket, the light rain began to fall, the girl breathed a sigh of relief because at least she had reached the destination. He stared at the building in front of him with a long sigh, a building he never thought would be here today and met someone who might not remember him

"Good day sir, I'm authorized to visit the inmate on behalf of Mr. Rangga" the police like seeing his performance for a moment, then nodding and taking him to the visitation hall

"Call inmate number 056" he told one of his friends

Nessi was taken to a special room, shortly after which a middle-aged man with handcuffed hands was led by police into his room. Lined to a table, Nessi could see the change in her face from the last time. Behind the glass-walled room, there was a police officer who always watched from the wild motion

"It's only thirty minutes" said a police officer and then returned. Nessi nodded in understanding, but it had been five minutes of walking just the silence that existed between the two people, a son and father who have a relationship thicker than water but now like a stranger who never met

"Why are you here? To mock me?" Ask Mr. Rangga who opened the question

"Does one child miss his father?" Nessi's question made the middle-aged man surprised, apparently from the gesture of his body that did not expect the words would come out of his daughter's mouth. Yes, the daughter he never accompanied until now

"I don't really know what to call you, after all you're my father even though all your actions don't reflect the father figure"

"Did you come here just to say that?" Mr. Rangga asked with his face always that did not show the slightest guilt

"No, I came for help"

"I'm in prison, how can I help you"

"I don't want to either, but only you can"

"I'll get married next week, be my guardian, if I don't want to do it as a father, do it for a job, I'll pay for it"

Nessi knew her words were too cruel, but this was her form of defense so as not to fall in the same hole. A pain that always haunts and never ends

"I found a man who gave me his heart, something I never found in you"

"We may have played together, rode a swing together and bathed on the beach together. But since ay..." Nessi paused her sentence

"But since you left I thought I only had parents in one body. You can be a good father and mother. I can even be this big without your help. But you're still the man who made me present in the world, thank you for that" Nessi wiped the water in memory of the corner of her eyes before dripping and made the man in front of her feel weak

"When you give more affection for someone else's child than your own, I understand at that time that I was unwanted by his father"

Nessi took a deep breath and again rubbed the corner of her watery eyes, she hated crying in front of the man who had given her the wound, the man she expected to guide her but instead left her traumatized to start a relationship, the man who should be the first love of every girl

Nessi covered his face sobbing, still he could not if faced with conditions like this

"Please help me just this once"

"I'll help you" Nessi looked up at her father's face saying that

"How much do you ask for in payment?" Puddles of water in the corner of Mr. Rangga's eyes can not lie, if his heart hurts to hear his own biological daughter talk like that

"I did it as a father not as a job" he softly smiled

"I'll be a guardian to you later. But I have the conditions"

"What conditions do you want?" Asked Nessi again, Mr. Rangga smiled bitterly at her. Even if given the chance, he would never do anything

"Can you call me father and can I hold you as my little daughter Nessi?" Mr. Rangga stood up, advancing his handcuffed hand as a gesture

Nessi silently fluttered in her place, not one bit getting out of her seat, she looked at the face of the middle-aged man in front of her, no longer a proud, firm and haughty face. Now only a thin face left with sad eyes

Grepp

"I hate to say this sentence, but somehow I miss you" said Nessi quietly, but because speaking near her father's ear, Mr. Rangga could hear it clearly. He sank deeper into regret, and the thing he regretted most was that his daughter did not consider herself a father. He was defeated by ego and lust to pursue the treasures of the world and all its luxuries, leaving the woman who loved him sincerely and her little daughter who still needed guidance

He left his daughter to fend for herself for a dozen years, while he instead bestowed affection on the children of others who did not consider themselves in this situation. Regrets like endless will continue to haunt the rest of his life in cold iron bars. However, at least now there was a speck of warmth in his heart from his little daughter who had grown up even going to marry someone else

"I'm sorry you failed, I'm sorry you left a wound for you, I'm sorry I made you live like that, I'm sorry I can't always protect you and I'm sorry for everything"

"The visitation period is over" Nessi took off her embrace and looked at her father, she wiped away the rough tears

"It's two weeks away, thanks for the help" he said as if nothing had happened. He immediately went from there. Leaving his father who felt a sense of emptiness, he had lost his daughter. His heart that had warmed back empty, he should be conscious and not hopeful. He should be put to death rather than live in endless regret. Looking at his daughter's back, he forgot to ask who the man could convince her

"Whoever he is, I know he's better than me. May your life be happy"

Nessi ran to the parking lot and immediately got into the car, she covered her face with her palm and shed her tears there, she should not be weak with the man's plea. He should hate, should he be angry, but his heart is too hard to hate, the words of hatred that come out of his mouth are not in line with his heart
