In the Name of a Mate

In the Name of a Mate
Chapter 12: Still there?

Night comes with various constellation shapes that decorate the sky beautifully like a sparkle of jewels. The moon appears to be only half, because the earth, sun and moon are ninety degrees away

"Why outside? The air was cold" Naufal sat in a chair near his daughter, followed by Bilal who had just arrived and was sitting next to his sister

"Father, it is better to keep the heart to yourself but make others sick, or give it to others and try to make sense of who we are"

"Actually for the person we really love there is no sincere word, it's just another name to make us okay. People who have been present and managed to control our lives, when he left there is no sincere word. Because it is the same as we are ready to accept the new" answered Naufal, he conveyed his point of view based on what he experienced. It was not that his heart did not sincerely give Aqila away, but that he was not sincere to let go and receive a new one

"But I don't like him"

"Why do you get hurt if you don't like it?" Bilal asked, he actually did not know who the man his sister meant

"The heart is not ours, brother, I do not want to hate or put more flavor, because it could lead to a sense of disappointment"

"Who is he?"

"Come"

"Weird basis" Bilal rolled his eyes lazily hearing his sister's puzzling reply

"Oh yeah, where did you know Kenzo's sister?" Layla recalls that Kenzo was also Qais's older brother, but the man had a close relationship with his parents

"He was a baby"

"Huh?" Bilal and Layla said in unison, they opened their mouths wide in disbelief

"If she's a foster child, how can Brother Qais be his sister, their faces also look similar?" Bilal asked, Layla also nodded in curiosity

"She had met her family when she was a Junior High, she lived and grew up in a nursing home"

"Why replaced? Aren't his parents rich?"

"He said there was something that required them to do that and it was for his own good" Naufal replied. Kenzo told him that last night, the man had not given his exact reason for what until he was placed in the parlour

"Are there parents like that?" Layla never thought of hearing that

"We don't know the direction of someone's mind. But we need to believe that most parents want the best for their child"

"Kenzo is the beginning where you can get close to your mother" Naufal looked up at the night sky with his deep blue color. Orion, the visible constellation reminded him of Aqila who often pointed at the star because it could be easily recognized

"How come? Dad and mom are on campus, I think you guys are close because you're in the same organization"

"Father used to be naughty, but not the naughty you imagine" Naufal replied, as if he could read the minds of his two children through the expressions they showed

"Father is famous for being the head of his gang Felis Catus, and Felis Catus is famous for his wild racing and nemesis King Kobra, the chairman of students from other campuses who are none other than Om Regan"

"So you used to be with Om Regan's arch-enemy?" Layla shook her head several times, unbelievable to see how close they were now

"That's it, juvenile delinquency" Naufal answered soberly.

"But don't follow" he ordered in a stern tone, any parent doesn't seem to want their child to follow the delinquency of what they did first.

Parents always want their children to be better than what is happening to them now. Even a farm worker willing to send their children as high as possible, so that their children do not feel how the heat of the sun that stings the skin, and hunger and thirst in the middle of the rice fields for the sake of how little rupiah, they want to see their child have a better life. The point is they say 'enough we feel, you don't'. But strangely now, a lot of children seem to forget the sweat of their parents. Their eyes and ears seemed closed when they felt at the top of life, they no longer looked at the hard rocks that helped him get to the top

"We also do not want to be a driver" replied Bilal and Layla compact, revealed already their curiosity with FC restaurants and motorcycles that are still always cleaned Naufal every week, he hardly ever uses it. The memories he still wanted to keep neat

"So where do you meet my mother?"

"First time father meeting when mom gave a box of tissue because she saw the leg of the father who was injured due to a fall during the race. But what brought our relationship closer was when Kenzo was in an accident, your mother panicked and the father who happened to be passing by came to help" Naufal sometimes chuckles when considering Aqila until dubbed P3K walking because of various types of drugs that he carries in a bag. Sometimes he cried because of the shortness of his miss inside his chest

"Daddy didn't know Kenzo's sister before that?"

"Famous, I know very well the mother of the home where she lives, I have considered like my own mother since I decided to stay away from your grandparents"

"Why? They're dad's parents"

"Sometimes a child's thinking can never go along with the way his parents think. Instead of continuing to fight or follow with self-harming compulsion, I decided to stay away until then your mother came and changed everything"

"From that event, fate seemed to set us up to meet. But strangely our meeting always happened when your mother cried" Naufal told this as if he was in those days

"Why?" Bilal and Layla compactly ask, it turns out the story of their parents' past is quite complicated

"The burden he carried was too heavy, but he always felt that he was okay. From there the father promised to be a rainbow for him that would always come after the rain fell, like the father who always managed to make him laugh after crying" Naufal smiled bitterly remembering that

"Roof? Rainbows don't always appear after rain"

"The rainbow is also only temporary" Layla continued Bilal's words by nodding her head

"The rainbow is ever-present forever, no matter how the sky or the clouds gray, the rainbow will remain with its seven beautiful colors"

"Is the rainbow still there, even if you're gone?"
