Chapter 59. Connected by Destiny. 4

In the narrow alley, Theo makes Ryou and Kino look confused and stare at each other.

“What do you mean I'm in danger?” Kaito asked Theo with a curious face

“I..”

With Kaito's question to him, Theo became even more panicked.

‘How do I explain to Kaito-nii that the gorilla has been looking for him since last night?!’ theo muttered inwardly with a panicked face

Kaito looked at the boy with a curious face but he knew that he would not get a quick answer from Theo. This was evident from Theo's speech afterwards.

“I. We better get out of here to pick up Kino-nii's pocket watch now!”

It is clear that Theo wants to divert the conversation he has made. Not that Kaito wanted to just let go, but it would not be good if they continued to be there.

“Alright, I understand. Like you said, we're out of here”

“....” Ryou was silent for a while

The three of them finally walked away from the place. Kaito looked at his pocket watch and the time had shown it at 10:00.

After Kaito reinserted his clock, the three men walked along the narrow alley. Theo was in front of them. Kaito is right behind Theo while Ryou walks slightly behind Kaito while occasionally looking back.

‘I hope Kino is okay’ Ryou murmured in heart

After a few seconds, Ryou catches up with Kaito and whispers to him.

“Have you got what you want?”

“Not everything yet because my last question has not been answered by him. He was afraid of me for something. I'm not sure what it is but it probably has something to do with my sword this”

“I told you earlier, right? That's because–”

“Do not say anything, please. My ears will scream later”

Kaito cut Ryou's sentence quickly before he finished speaking. But it looks like Kaito's language selection isn't as smart as his fighting skills.

That made him the target of Ryou's mouth commentary for the umpteenth time.

“You said your ears could cry, now you can scream too. Looks like your ears are multitasking huh. I want to hear as little as what his voice is” Ryou replied to Kaito's words in a serious tone

“.....” Kaito just silence without replying

The atmosphere between the two of them became serious again.

“Now I'm seriously asking, do you have any guesses as to why she's afraid of you? Do you think this has anything to do with the weirdness of this place or maybe with your memory?”

“I'm not sure. I obviously want to hear it directly. I can't wait for that”

“.....” Ryou shut up and looked towards the back of the child who was in front of him

“Theo!” Kaito called out to the child who was walking in front of him

“......!!!” Theo was surprised

Although the boy did not say anything when called by Kaito from behind and kept walking, he realized that Kaito would start charging for what he had said earlier.

“Theo, shouldn't you stop stalling your time and tell me why? If it's like this, let alone being able to get his pocket watch quickly. I'll bet we'll get to that guy named Justin by day. There's no chance he's still where you're headed, so stop wasting our time and answer my question now”

Kaito talked all along but the child in front of him did not look at him at all. None of the three of them stopped his footsteps. Just then, Ryou who noticed something commented.

“So apparently. Theo, you're stalling so we don't get to that guy named Justin fast. You who initially ran as if you wanted to quickly get to where Justin was, now actually walk casually while with us. Anyone would definitely feel weird with that”

‘I could increasingly see it clearly, it was a face that showed intent to kill. Ryou could show such a cold expression now easily. I hope his sense of humanity really does not diminish at all’

Worrying about two things at a time makes Kaito the most understanding person among the three people in the narrow alley.

The focus of the two teenagers was still on all of Theo's explanations, until Ryou finally sighed heavily before saying anything.

“Ryou...-nii?” Theo looked towards Ryou who was behind him

“I think it answered all my questions. Thank you so much for answering me, Theo. Now we both understand the situation we are in. We need to hurry to where Justin is and take back his pocket watch

Theo was so panicked that he let out a rather loud voice.

“What?! Kaito-nii, didn't you hear my explanation? The gorilla's looking for you. In fact, it was you yourself who said that you had met the five men, right? Theo felt that what he had always said in his prayer was beginning to come true. The chance to avenge all the bad things Justin has done to him and his friends has finally arrived.

After walking for a while, Kino saw something unusual.

At first, the buildings around the altar began to quiet because people had almost no longer passed through the place even though some were seen still living. But after walking deeper, he began to see his strangeness.

The road leads to a narrow road like an alley with a lot of empty buildings. The building is completely unkempt and there are several garbage bags on each side. Not much indeed but still looks seedy with a dirty impression. Seen by Kino at a glance, he was like seeing a familiar sight.

“I don't know why a place like this is in town. Is this part of ‘world night’ too?”

Walking in for a while, Kino stopped and looked around. He remembered what Fabil had said a while ago.

Kino's face began to turn pale every time he finished seeing what was inside the building.

“Good. This time, show me the way without hesitation. Run as fast as you can and don't think about what he'll do to me. Your safety I will guarantee. I won't let anything bad happen to you including if she tries to hurt you” Kaito smiled at Theo

Theo also looked towards Ryou who was smiling at him. By looking at the two brothers in front of him made Theo spirit return.

‘Finally I can help Kino-nii and reply to that gorilla!’ theo said in his heart

Theo immediately ran and this time he used all his speed in order to get there. Ryou and Kaito follow him from behind.

Kaito started to think for a moment in his heart.

‘Justin, the person who claimed to be the ruler of this place as well as the person who holds the pocket watches belonging to the two brothers. Should I consider him as part of this weirdness in ‘world’? I'm sure I already know all of this is connected. Just how can we get a pocket watch without having to kill a human in this place. I still haven't found a crack that makes it easy for me to kill the enemy. But I think it all depends on the situation we face later’

Kaito's eyes narrowed, indicating he was thinking seriously. His mind started to drift apart as Ryou said to him.

“Kaito, I don't know if you still have the same stance as before or not, but I want to say something to you”

“What is it, Ryou?” Kaito asked in a flat tone as if he could guess what he wanted to say

“I really don't want Kino to feel sad and disappointed in me. For me it was the worst nightmare if it were to be hated by him, but I will tell you once more. I might end up being a killer depending on the situation later”

“.....” Kaito is silent without expression

“You've heard from that boy what a guy named Justin looks like, right? He's a demon. If you want to compare, I would rather equate him with the goat head that was in ‘world malam’ that time. He did not even hesitate to kill five people including the three women inside. You should have understood only that reality, Kaito”

Highlight Ryou's eyes sharp as he said all that. Without reducing his speed, they continued to talk.

“If it were necessary, I hope you wouldn't stop me from killing him later. This is all for our safety together and for Kino” Ryou continued his words

“....” Kaito is silent

Not long after that Kaito began to open his mouth.

Hearing a loud voice from behind, Theo who was in front finally stopped and saw what happened to the two brothers behind him.

Kaito looked at Ryou with a serious look.

“Ryou, it's been almost three days that you and Kino have been stuck here and I see that you're the one who showed the most outstanding ability development compared to your brother. But, I'm starting to feel that you're starting to lose consciousness of the value of humanity here”

“Value humanity? What are you talking about?” Ryou smiled as he looked at Kaito's face with a dismissive smile

“You're still unconscious? You speak so lightly as if human life is meaningless! Right now we're not at ‘world night’, Ryou! We're at ‘world’ where only humans are in it. You are also human so it's best not to be that easy to say that you'll kill another human without thinking first”

Kaito looked at Ryou without loosening his emotions at all. But right now, Ryou just laughed and smiled.

“Ahahaha! Kaito, you're so innocent. Even my innocent brother knows that there are only two types of humans in this world and they will never change even if you are stuck in any world”

“.....” Kaito is silent and tries to listen to Ryou finish talking

“Those humans are of only two types. The first is a good human being like an angel and the second is an evil human like a demon. If my brother Kino is an angelic human, I will give the title of devil to a human like Justin. Understand what I mean?”

“Ryou–”

“I'm not talking about humanity here!! I'm talking about how to save us from the demon under the guise of a human, remember that!! Nonsense with humanity. Since when does this weird ‘world’ have rules and laws?!”

Ryou approached Kaito and looked at him with a serious look.

“....” Ryou is silent

His gaze was still annoyed by what Kaito said, but he also knew Kaito did not mean evil and everything he said was purely because he was worried. Ryou took a deep breath and then exhaled before speaking.

Ending peacefully in an unexpected way, Theo comes close to them and tries to improve the atmosphere.
