183 Days of Being a Lover
18. Eating

Day three in Wonosobo Rahma is still busy with evaluating potential beneficiaries. However, today the participants are not as much as yesterday. Next to the next hit there are no more participants who will follow the evaluation. Rahma and her colleagues cleared the completed forms. They're getting ready for lunch.

This time they will have lunch outside because they still have to visit one of the districts in Wonosobo. They will evaluate the disability of prospective beneficiaries who are in the sub-district.

Before going to the intended subdistrict they stopped by first to a restaurant. Rosida's mother invited them to eat the noodles. Noodles are typical Wonosobo food eaten along with beef satay.

It's the first time Rahma and Rendi have eaten an ogklok noodle. When the diner waiter puts the noodle on the table, Rendi and Rahma are curious to see the noodles immediately. It turns out that the ongklok noodles are a portion of noodles that are watered with thick sauce. Rahma took a spoon and then tasted the thick sauce. It was sweet and there was a savory taste. It feels foreign on their tongue. Maybe this time they ate sweet noodles.

Rahma stuffed the sambal into the noodle bowl. Rendi noticed Rahma who was inserting sambal.

“Not most tuh sambelnya?” Rendi pointed to Rahma's bowl.

“No,” replied Rahma while stirring noodles that have been sambel and then tasted the taste. Rahma nodded as a sign that it tasted good.

Then the servant came again and put a plate of beef satay on their table.

“Same satay, yes?” Rahma asked Rendi.

“Yes, maybe,” replied Rendi.

Rendi took one skewer of beef and ate it.

“Hmm. The meat is tender,” said Rendi while chewing satay.

On the table is also provided kemul tempe and ge-blek. Rahma took one of the fruits and ate it.

“It feels similar to cireng,” Rahma said as she chewed on the ge-blek. Rahma tried all the food on the table.

After they finished eating they continued their journey to the intended subdistrict. It turns out that the town is very far from the city. They had to travel for half an hour. Finally they arrived at the intended sub-district square.

They were greeted by the district officer. The evaluation participants were already waiting for their arrival. They immediately conducted an evaluation at the sub-district office. As usual, Rendi plays a photographer. At three they finished their evaluation. It's time they went back to the hotel.

At half-four they reached Wonosobo city center. Rendi's stomach began to get hungry again because this afternoon they did not eat rice but eating noodles. Before going to the hotel, they were looking for food. The car driven by Mr. Sobir passed through a restaurant that sells soto.

“It's no soto.” Rahma pointed towards the restaurant.

Rendi turned to Rahma. “Mana?” ask Rendi.

“It's too late,” replied Rahma.

“Stop, Sir!” rendi.

Mr. Sobir stopped the car.

“Retreat, Sir!” said Rendi.

Slowly Mr. Sobir rewinds the car. Rendi helps to look back if there is another vehicle behind the car. Then Mr. Sobir parked the car in front of the restaurant. Rendi and Rahma got out of the car. They went into the restaurant.

The restaurant looked empty and no one visited. Rendi took the menu list that was on the table. He read the menu list.

“Pak Rendi want to eat what?” ask Rahma. Rahma is ready with paper and tweezers.

“Soto meat.” Rendi put the menu list back on the table.

Mr. Sobir followed into the restaurant.

“Select what to eat!” Rendi gave a menu list to Mr. Sobir.

Rahma records their order and is given to the owner of the food stall. They are waiting for their order to be made. Fifteen minutes later their order arrived. They also ate their orders.

After they finished eating they bought souvenirs at the gift shop next to the restaurant. Rahma bought a lot of souvenirs for Mr. Sultan and Claudia's mother and her boarding friends. When Rahma was about to pay for her groceries suddenly Rendi immediately handed her a card to Rahma.

“Pay use this, Ma,” said Rendi.

“No need, Mr Rendi! I pay by myself.” Rahma refused the card given by Rendi. He took the money from his wallet. Quickly Rendi gave a magic card to the cashier.

“I pay using this,” said Rendi. The cashier receives the card and processes the payment. Seeing what Rendi did Rahma sighed. It was first by Rendi.

“Assalamualaikum,” says Rahma.

“Waalaikumsalam. Rahma, where are you?” ask Mr. Iqbal.

“I'm still outside, Sir,” replied Rahma.

“Don't forget we made a report!” said Mr. Iqbal.

“Good, Sir,” replied Rahma.

“Where to make the report?” ask Rahma.

Rendi sharpened her hearing. He listened to Rahma talk with Mr. Iqbal. He wanted to know what Rahma was talking about with Mr. Iqbal.

“In my room only,” replied Mr. Iqbal.

“Good, Sir. Later I will go to the room Mr.” said Rahma.

“Assalamualaikum.” Mr. Iqbal ended his talk.

“Who called?” ask Rendi.

“Pak Iqbal's. He invited me to make a report,” replied Rahma.

“You feel it works make a report continue,” said Rendi.

“I am an ordinary staff. Every task given by my superiors, I have to give a report to my superiors,” Rahma said.

“Pak Rendi mah yah yang yang. If you use the company money do not have to make a report,” continued Rahma.

“Who said? If there is no accountability, the company will not stand until now,” said Rendi.

“Yes, I was wrong. I'm sorry,” Rahma said in a guilty tone. He thought Rendi liked to squander money owned by his grandfather. It turns out Rahma's guess was wrong. He's the one in charge.

Rendi smiled looking at Rahma.

“It's okay. I understand what you mean,” said Rendi.

Rendi stared out the window like from earlier they had not reached the hotel.

“Pak Sobir, why haven't we arrived yet? Didn't we get close to the hotel?” ask Rendi.

“Anu, Sir. The map continues muter-muter,” replied Mr. Sobir while glancing briefly at the rearview mirror in the middle.

“To the side first, Sir! We ask others,” said Rendi.

Mr. Sobir pulled the car to the side of the road. On the side of the road there is a parking lot. Rahma opened the car window.

“Sorry, Sir. Numpang asked, if the hotel Defem where?” ask Rahma.

“Oh, near the road to Dieng,” replied the parking attendant.

“From here where, Sir?” ask Rahma.

The parking attendant explains the road leading to the hotel. They listened carefully to the words of the parking attendant. They try to understand the instructions given by the parking attendant.

“Thank you, sir,” Rahma said after understanding the instructions given by the parking attendant. Rahma raises car glass. The car followed the direction given by the parking attendant. They finally arrived at the hotel.
