Chapter 4: Unexpected answers

My mood got worse when my college classmate Jeon Sul Yeon sent me a wedding invitation via email. He's getting married in Gangseo, not far from my office.

I called my college friend who got an invitation, and we promised to meet there, there was a class photo session before the reception started.

I wore a simple cream color dress with a black stiletto. Jae Yoon's earrings stick pretty in my ears. I confidently came to the party to meet my friends.

“Wah Sul Yeon looks like an angel on her wedding day” said one of the invited guests sitting right in front of me.

“I heard her husband runs the family” business said another.

“See! the dress was specially ordered for this event. Surely the price is expensive” another comment again.

“These people are very noisy. Can't they just shut up and enjoy the show?” my mind's pissed.

A few moments later

The event that the singles are waiting for arrives. The flower throwing event. It is said that those who catch flowers will soon follow the marriage stage. The myth did not exist in Korean tradition, but I decided to stand among a sea of excited women waiting for Sul Yeon to throw flowers.

“Hana, dul, set.” shouted everyone present.

Flowers were thrown and fell right on my eel.

“Congratulations Bit Na, you will finally be the next one after” said Sul Yon excited.

“Ayo selfie” take her.

Sul Yeon asked permission to link her post to my account. The Next One she wrote in a selfie caption she took as I bowed to see the flowers.

The first person to like the post was Jae Yoon. Persananku. At least there was hope, it just so happened that today he was willing to pick me up after coming home from work.

“You've been waiting a long time?” jae Yoon asked as I got into his car.

“Lumayan” I replied bringing in a bouquet of flowers owned by Sul Yeon. I looked at the flower for a moment and put it in the back seat.

“Sul Yeon is very beautiful on her wedding day”.

“Yes, I saw the picture. I told him I couldn't attend because of overtime at the office” said Jae Yoon.

“Let's get married” I said without giving a pause.

Jae Yoon runs his car slowly. He seemed surprised by my sudden invitation. While I tried desperately to hold back the roar of breath and the heartbeat that hit the wall of my chest.

“We will talk about it later” said Jae Yoon slowly.

Along the way Jae Yoon tries to melt the atmosphere by telling the atmosphere of his busy office. Bit Na doesn't focus on Jae Yeon's story, her head feels full.

“Hah” I looked at Jae Yoon's face.

“I'm sleepy, see you tomorrow” said I refused a farewell kiss.

I threw my clutch in the direction. I need my friends now. I called Seola and Bo Ra asked them to stay, unfortunately they refused. The possibility of rainstorms is in the weather forecast, although tomorrow the two holidays do not want to take the risk.

“There is what” asked Jung Bo Ra his voice sounded restrained. It seems Bo Ra is chewing something.

I had to tell a sad story to both of them. 

“You'll just give up?” ask Seola

“Not our relationship has been running for four years. During that time I only saw Jae Yoon in my future”, I'm sure.

“Contact Jae Yoon now” said Bo Ra.

“Alright I'll call Jae Yoon” I'll hang up our phone.

With great courage, I tried to lower my emotions and ego. I'll apologize immediately after Jae Yoon picks up my phone My mind takes an adventurous breath of time.

“The number you are going to is not listed, please double check your destination number” 

“What?” I panicked and pressed the number repeatedly. The answer I received remained the same.

Now that it's ten o'clock in the evening, I immediately check all of his social media.

His Line profile turned blank when his profile photo was our selfie on the beach, Kakaotalk was the same. His SNS account also disappeared.

Since that day Choi Jae Yoon has never appeared.
