Chapter 13: Let's End This Relationship

"Wah Choi Jae Yoo, you really make me desperate," my inner self as she read the message.

"Message from Jae Yoon?" asked Min Woo.

"What's he saying?" asked Min Woo curiously.

"He said it was late, had to go home soon," I said as I breathed in annoyance.

If Jae Yoon cares, he should come to pick me up, or call me instead of texting me. 

I downed a bottle of soju, the sour taste of soju filling my throat. I feel tired today. Work, Jae Yoon, my mother all the trouble is spinning in my head.

I must admit that a thousand times thinking about it, my heart is not willing to let Jae Yoon go. But Jae Yoon's attitude made me doubtful.

All this time I've always heard the sad story of Seola who was left behind by her ex-husband Im Hyunseong, and love clapping her hand Bora. I always show off, that Jae Yoon is the kind of step male born once in a generation.

Four years is enough for me to know each other. Four years is enough for me to plan a future with Jae Yoon. 

After downing the last soju I say goodbye to Min Woo. 

"Don't worry, I have a good tolerance for alcohol one bottle of soju isn't enough to get me drunk, yet" I laughed.

Min Woo looked worried, he ordered a taxi for me and closed the taxi door for me. I got off in front of my apartment lobby and took the elevator to the floor where my room was.

Arriving in front of my room, I saw Jae Yoon look messy. He was wearing training and a gray hoodie. 

"I want to talk" Jae Yoon said.

My feelings are not out of whack. Ever since Jae Yoon reappeared, he hasn't talked to me before. Today his hoarse voice successfully made me nauseous. 

I opened the door and let him in. Jae Yoon took off his shoes, he stared at my apartment room.

I hinted for Jae Yoon to sit on the chair at the dining table, and I kept my bag in the room. I pulled the chair in front of Jae Yoon, then sat down while looking at Jae Yoon's face. The man looked thin, his neck was growing and his eyes looked withered.

I'm waiting for Jae Yoon. Jae Yoon looked riled up, he rubbed his face and hair. Jae Yoon looked at me, and I stared back at him. 

"Are you okay," asked Jae Yoon.

I sneered.

"I don't want to get married yet" Jae Yoon said quickly while preventing me from standing up.

"Why?" I asked.

"There are things I have to accomplish before I decide to get married, other than that I just got a promotion," Jae Yoon said.

"All right, we're breaking up" I said coldly.

I saw Jae Yoon's face looked surprised.

"Not wanting to get married doesn't mean our relationship is over. We've been living it for 4 years. All we have to do is be patient. I also have to raise money for our wedding expenses and needs" Jae Yoon explained. His face looks clear.

"Jae Yoon, let's end this relationship. We focus on what we are doing. Please pursue your career and mine with my life. I don't want to argue Jae Yoon, you disappeared for months and showed up casually. Have you ever thought about my feelings or my family?" I stared at Jae Yoon snidely.

"When you asked me to get married I was taking the promotion exam. In addition to the employer's recommendation, the promotion in my office had to pass a series of tests. I have to compete with other candidates. When I was declared a graduate in the early stages, I still had to do a psychological test so I decided to deactivate social media and prepare myself" Jae Yoon explained.

I looked at Jae Yoon inside, looking for lies in his eyes. I saw those eyes full of guilt.

"Good! congratulations on your promotion. If you hadn't just left that time, there couldn't have been a misunderstanding between us. You tau? every day I wonder about you. My chest was tight until it felt like dying. Seeing you show up without guilt, makes me angry, you're lying. Last week, you went out with your friends" I said annoyed. My eyes are heating up, my tears are spilling but I'm too proud to stand before this coward.

I looked at the ceiling of my apartment, hiding my watery eyes.

"That was my welcoming party in the new division, as well as a promotion. Our relationship was not okay at the time, so I decided not to tell you first," Jae Yoon replied softly, there was a regretful tone in his voice.

I rubbed my head slowly. 

Be aware Ok Bit Na, you are the one who first stated break up. It's only natural that Jae Yoon didn't take you to his office.

My mind keeps fighting. 

"Thank you for 4 years, you've been by my side. I hope you can pursue your dreams," I said in a trembling voice.

Jae Yoon said goodbye after I refused his invitation to go back to dating. I was tired for months struggling with my thoughts and feelings. 

I spent the night with tears.
