Chapter 14: The Traces of Jae Yoon
(The next day)
At 08:00 KST my phone rang the tone of incoming messages in the Line group.
Seola: Hey are you okay?
Bora: Miss Shin said you were on menstrual leave
Seola: Should I send you pain killers, pads, and vitamins?
Bora: You have to eat something sweet, I'll buy you a milk pie, a mocca latte, and your favorite Taro Milk Tea.
Bitna: We broke up last night
"HAH?!," cried Jung Bora frenzied. Everyone in the marketing division looked at Bora annoyed.
"Jung Bora, come to my room for a second, "call Miss Shin.
"Miss Shin, Bora and I will have to work on the financial statements for the afternoon presentation" said Dan Gun Woo, who was suddenly standing next to Bora's cubicle.
"Huft is there fortunately also being the grandson of the owner of the company," Inner Bora was relieved.
*****
I lay in bed, reluctant to open the bedroom window, reluctant to get out of bed. The weather today was very sunny, but not with my heart. After Jae Yoon and I ended up feeling incredibly lonely. Lonelier than even empty from the moment Jae Yoon disappears.
I purposely said on leave, lucky my company does not require sick letters during menstrual leave.
I recalled Jae Yoon's words last night, repeating the mantra that Jae Yoon was the one who was selfish in our relationship. The man didn't even apologize or send me a message after last night.
When it was 11:00 KST, I sat in bed ignoring the dizziness and aches all over my body. I go to the kitchen, usually I am excited to remember I will dedicate the first years of marriage to take care of the family. I snorted cynically thinking about the future I had designed myself. Does this feel like a broken heart?
I opened the fridge looking at whatever ingredients were in there. Jae Yoon's favorite ramen, the last carrot Jae Yoon uses to make soup, is Jae Yoon's tumbler.
"Hhh," I sighed softly. Everything in this house is full of Jae Yoon's tracks. I decided to order bulgogi while looking for a drama that is suitable to watch.
"Ah ... Yumi Cells season two," I muttered.
Seola: Come home from work I'll stop by your place
A message from Seola was plastered on my phone screen.
(afternoon)
"Come in" I told Seola.
Seola took off her coat and her bag on a special hanger that was near the entrance.
Seola and I sat on the couch, accompanied by soda, soju, and camila.
"Bora went with Dan Gun Woo" said Seola.
I told you about my meeting with Jae Yoon last night. Seola listened carefully. At the end of the story I hug Seola, it feels tight to part with the man who has always been there for 4 years.
"I think the communication between you guys is too bad. Calm your heart and mind, then talk to Jae Yoon again. You're lucky your rival isn't a third person" Seola said.
I stopped my crying then looked at Seola's serious face.
Is correct.
Seola was once married, after the wedding her husband went abroad taking care of the family business. When he returns to Korea, he divorces Seola and drives her away.
Seola closed type. Although upset, angry, even wanting to die though, he still tried to control his feelings. No one knows what the story is like, but I heard her ex-husband's family is quite rich and the man is always seen with many women.
"What about your story" I asked back.
"Nothing interesting" he said flatly.
"There's a third man" I asked.
Seola shook her head.
"I don't know."
