Ranums
THE LOSHAD FAMILY CENTER

Ranum stretched his muscles. “Already, I'll tell you again next time.” Ranum got up from his chair and walked out of Dayana's house.

“Ranum! why do you always cut stories like that anyway.” Dayana grunts – grievances.

Ranum ignored Dayana's call. Suseno and Lily laughed.

Two days passed very quickly. Private jets carrying Dayana and Ranum eventually land at the Loshad family headquarters. The headquarters of the Loshad family center has dozens of buildings. One of those buildings was a mansion that was inhabited specifically for the nuclear family. The area of this mansion is approximately 2000 square meters built right on the top of the cliff, with a modern futuristic architectural style.

Dayana and Ranum enter the dining room. They were warmly welcomed by everyone in the dining room. The dining table has eight chairs. At the end of the dining table is the current leader of the Loshad family, Ranum's father or commonly called the Big Boss. In the first part of the left seat there is Ranum's mother or commonly called the Great Mistress. In front of the Big Lady's seat was Dayana's chair, to the left of Dayana Ada Kripala Suhail Anatoly, Ranum's –-man older brother. To the right of Ranum is the seat of Arsyanendra Parama Anatoly, Ranum's younger brother –, as well as his last child. Ranum sat right in the seat to the right of the big madam. And the last one sitting next to Kripala was a hijab-wearing woman named Kayla Hani, Kripala's wife.

“Finally Ranum can join us after many – years disappeared somewhere.” The Big Boss smiled widely.

Ranum just smiled, nodding impassively.

“The most beautiful father's son, how are you? What has been the development with all your projects?”

“As dad saw, I'm good – is fine. Too much development, it would be very long if I had to describe it here. It's also a special day dad, I don't want to mix it with work problems.” Dayana smile.

The big boss nodded, smiling. “What about you Kripala and my beautiful daughter-in-law Kayla? Are you guys getting tired of living a different life with your brother – brother?”

“We are very happy with our current life well. Dad no need to worry.” Kripala smiled, Kayla also smiled towards the Big Boss.

“If you guys change your mind, contact dad immediately.” The big boss spoke to Kripala and Kayla. “Ranum, how about your education? Do you want to continue your studies in college? If so, I'll call Samuel to help you. You just need to choose which university you want.” The big boss.

“Hei! Father didn't ask how I and my progress?” Arsyanendra cut the conversation. “I've had a lot of rapid progress! I've created a lot of cutting-edge technology!” Arsyanendra continues to grumble –. The room broke with laughter.

“You explained it just now.” The big boss laughed a little.

Ranum. “I will not continue any education.”

“Why?” The big boss asked confusedly.

Ranum. “Dad already has three genius children. One ordinary child, will make affairs easier.” Ranum spoke flatly.

“Yes already, let's start eating. Afraid of food going cold.” The big madam cut the conversation. Everyone started eating dishes at the dinner table, interspersed with chat – casual chat. Twenty minutes passed and everyone finished eating. Adzan's voice is resounding.

“Daddy, I'm going to the room for a while with Kayla. There's something we should take.” Kripala.

“Please.” The Big Boss smiled.

Five minutes later Ranum got up from his chair. “I want to smoke.” Walk out of the dining room.

The Big Boss smiled. “The child is getting colder. I don't know what makes it that way.”

“Already well, maybe – years last year he experienced a difficult time –. Especially for boys – boys like Ranum.” The big madam held the hand of the Big Boss.

Dayana nodded. “Very difficult in my opinion.” Dayana burned her cigarette.

“What changed from Ranum? He was like that from birth.” Arsyanendra shrugged.

Dayana let out smoke from her mouth. “Ya and no.”

“What do you mean? Do you know anything?” The Big Madam asked curiously.

“Kless more bu. But you better ask Ranum directly. He knows best what he's been through.” Dayana shrugged her shoulders.

Kripala and Kayla came out of their room. Ranum stood up, leaning against the wall next to Kripala's bedroom door.

“Resident salat?” Ranum asked while exhaling smoke from his mouth.

Kripala. “You want to pray too?” Kripala asked.

Ranum. “How are your lives?”

“Our life is good. Just like your life.” Kripala smiles.

Ranum smokes his cigarette, shakes his head. “How can you live a quiet and safe life for many – years? Father gave you guards on the perimeter of your residence?”

“Something should have taken care of us. But I refused it. I have always believed that the best protection is the protection of the Creator. As powerful as any creature in the world, nothing can match the power of our Creator. So I just kept praying, begging my little family to be protected.” Kripala smiles.

“Why are you asking like that Ranum? Something bothering you?” Kayla asked.

Ranum. “You're married 6...7 years?” Ranum asked.

Kayla nodded. “Eight years' path.”

“Actually what makes you fret Ranum? I understand that expression on your face. I know you very well even though you have disappeared for many years.– Kripala.

Ranum. “You were one of the best fighters in the family before marriage. I used to admire you so much. I always aspire to – ideals to be able to surpass you. But now, you're so far away with Kripala that I used to know. Marriage has changed you so much.”

Kripala laughs. “Man changes every day Ranum, no man stuck at one point. If your – mind is beyond me, you have succeeded. Successfully surpassed me to become the number one fighter. Maybe this is my way of life, I was met with Kayla who can change me a little. If you think I'm a good person, you're wrong. I try to be good every day. What I am doing now will not be able to make up for all my past mistakes. But life must go on, I cannot lament my dark past. Kayla always said that if I can't be good today, I can try to be better tomorrow. There are no good people, all people are still trying to be good until they die. The difference between the two of us is only a matter of time. You can still change, your time is still longer than mine. No matter how black a human heart is, there is always a small point of light that survives. I'm not forcing you to start believing in God or anything like that. Even if I'm not hunting you, I'm just talking about what I've been through. Maybe one day when you meet the right person, you'll understand what I'm saying. Like I was united with Kayla, the woman who never gave up on me. Trust me Ranum, you are bigger than what you know about yourself right now.” Kripala smiled gently looking at Ranum's face.

Ranum fell silent, the cigarette in his hand was consumed by the wind.

Kayla touched Ranum's shoulder. “We actually knew about Miranda and Chen Xiuhuan and the baby, Kripala never stopped looking for information about you. He didn't tell anything to the Loshad family, and Kripala was looking for information about you alone. Your brother always cares about you.” Kayla smiles.

Ranum was stunned staring at Kripala, gulping his saliva.

Kripala. “I'm sorry for what happened to them. I understand how you feel. I really understand why your nature got colder after your departure. Sorry I can't help you when you're in a tough time –

Ranum remained silent, then left. But her steps came to a halt when Kayla held onto Ranum's arm. “Sometimes if you need us, we will always be there.” Kayla smiles.

Ranum nodded, then walked away.

“She's going through a hard time –, I'm very concerned to see your sister.” Kayla speaks to Kripala.

Kripala kissed Kayla's hand. “Maybe it's a process for him, we can only help him through prayer as you often say.” Kripala smiled at Kayla. “We must return to the dining room immediately. The others must be waiting for us.” Kripala walked in Kayla's hand.
