Ch 44: Beginning of the third stage Chunin Examination

Two weeks passed quickly since the last altercation between Sanada and Sasuke. And the day of the third stage of the Chunin Examination finally arrived.

Over the past week, Orochimaru made no less than five attempts to implant a curse seal on Sasuke's body. But with Sanada and Kakashi's joint efforts, Orochimaru was repulsed and Sasuke was free from the curse mark.

Another change from the original timeline was the fact that Hayate Gekk was able to survive that night and informed the Hokage of Konoha's Destruction plans.

Sanada blocked the Tray wind blades which in turn allowed Hayate Gekk to escape.

However, even though Konoha is already aware of the plan, they can only take some extra precautions as there is no way they can fully cancel the Chunin Exam.

There was too much interest behind the Chunin Exam and canceling it was not an option.

Sanada had brought Sakura, Ami, Karin, and Hibachi to the venue while Sasuke followed Kakashi with 7 other team members.

As all the participants gathered in the center of the stage opened, countless cheers could be heard.

The civilians here clearly did not know that this stage would only be an appetizer for what awaited them behind the scenes.

Line up from left to right standing: Temari, Gaara, Sakura, Ami, Sasuke, Naruto, Neji, Shino, Shikamaru and Dosu.

It is unknown why, but it seems like Dosu was not killed by Gaara in this timeline and therefore he will still participate in the Chunin Examination.

Sanada looked at the scene in front of him with some complex expressions. His arrival here had already begun to change the timeline.

At first, his influence on the timeline was minuscule, such as helping team seven against Haku and Zabuza. But now, Sanada could be said to have fiddled with almost half of the Shippuden plot.

With his help, Orochimaru could not implant the curse seal on Sasuke, which would most likely cause Sasuke not to choose to defect and go to Orochimaru.

With all the plot changes, Sanada could only sigh and continue working towards the best results.

Sanada then turned his attention to the highest balcony where Hokage and Kazekage were seated.

Sanada felt very conflicted about this. On the one hand, he wanted to help the Hokage to survive the difficulties, but on the other hand, Sanada had read too many theories about Sarutobi's counterattack on all the issues in Konoha.

It can be said that any significant problems that occur in Konoha involve Sarutobi and Danzo. Letting her die and letting Tsunade take over would definitely be a better option, but why would she be heartbroken when thinking about the death of the third Hokage.

Soon, the third Hokage announced the start of the final of the Chunin Exam.

The first fight was one of the most famous fights in Naruto's OG anime, Neji Vs. Naruto. It was also the first debut of the popular talk-no-jutsu that could even make Obito an ally.

As expected the audience was very excited when it saw the two Genins fighting.

Be it Naruto with his shadow clone or Hyuga Neji's Taijutsu style, both of them clearly have an incredible visual impact that can captivate the audience. Let's say if one of them were replaced by a true Jonin like Sanada, he could only say that the battle would be boring.

In addition to a few jutsu like the revolving heaven and power of Naruto Kyuubi at the final stage of battle, everything was quite standard.

Don't get me wrong, Naruto and Neji are good, but they're still Genin. They are also emotional and easily affected in battle, something that is undoubtedly taboo in high-level ninja combat.

And just like in the anime, Naruto finally won a battle proving to Neji that fate can be opposed with hard work.

Sanada's internal thought: 'Yes, as if you were not the child of a fate foretold would bring peace to the ninja world, the fourth Hokage son with Uzumaki bloodline, Jinchuriki of Kyuubi....'

When the battle was over, Neji was brought back on a stretcher while Naruto returned to the waiting room with a wide grin covering his face.

Poor him, even though he won this battle he did not know that he would remain as a Genin until he became Hokage long later.

The fight was quite entertaining, but what the audience really awaited was the next fight.

"Uchiha Sasuke Vs. Gaara."

The battle between the last son of Uchiha and the super powerful Genin of Sunagakure. Perhaps more than half of the spectators came here just to watch this fight, while the rest of the matches were just figures.

Sasuke and Gaara heard their names being called and they immediately headed to the battle arena.

But one small detail that Sanada noticed was that the little brat gave him a slight nod and a small smile before descending into the battle arena.

'Hehe, that brat. I don't know why, but it looks like her personality has become a little sweeter.'
