Scrambling hair origin—that's all Chandra can do after removing her helmet, when getting off the bike. It went too far. Twenty-five minutes of his time, he spent almost two hours with Mishall. Even to think of a lie, his brain was no longer capable.
Chandra just resignedly followed every step he took anxiously. Then stand in front of the doorway for a few moments. It needed reinforcement in its fist, before it finally knocked on the door, but there was no answer.
His hands no longer knocked. He touched the knob, then turned it. Found the room already dim due to lack of lighting. Only the light from the second floor allowed him to see the situation on this ground floor. Chandra carefully locked the door, then entered slowly. Always be ready, if there is a solid object flying after his head.
However, it seems safe. He found no sign of Shila's whereabouts in the slightest, reinforcing his opinion that she was in his room. Chandra chose to sit on the sofa, with her neck resting on the back of the sofa so that she could look up to the ceiling of the room. His long breathing became the only source of sound in this room. Provides a calming effect, but still, does not diminish the menacing aura of Shila in this house.
Once more. Frustration makes Chandra rough hair. Feeling not enough, he rubbed his face just as rough, to wake himself up.
What exactly did he do? Why can ... he forget everything because of his student? Why could?
Chandra ... didn't stray from the original goal, did it?
Not likely. Even if he falls on his student. It's still a matter of days since they knew each other.
Calmness brings Chandra in perfect darkness as he shuts down. He prepared to welcome the dream, but his consciousness was violently snapped by a loud noise coming from nearby.
The glass table in front was broken. Increase Chandra alert levels, until you have to look around. Look for traces of the woman's whereabouts, and meet!
The woman in a dress wrapped solely in legs with a spaghetti shoulder strap was standing in the middle of the stairs. Staring straight at Chandra, with no movement at all, and the woman's residence was always more dangerous than her rampage.
"Honey, I was .. consultation first with Widya, so it's a bit late to go home." Chandra gulped after the lie he said. "I'm wondering about your condition, just make sure you're okay."
The woman is still shaking.
Chandra ventured closer. Ignoring the pain in his thigh from crashing into the corner of the sofa violently. The focus was only on Shila in the middle of the stairs.
"Darling ...." Chandra softened the sound, seeing Shila remain silent, but continued to follow her movements. "I'm sorry, huh?"
Shila was like a possessed person, who only remained silent while listening. His eyes are almost—or maybe even never blinked once. Stand up straight, in a plain blue night dress. She should have looked like a goddess because of the glare of the lights from behind her back, but because Chandra knew this was Shila—the woman was more suited as a lifemaker waiting for her prey to approach.
Standing by two steps apart, Chandra is now as tall as Shila. He grabbed Shila's hand for a soft grip. Stare intensely at Shila, and let a few moments pass in silence. In the absence of a rejection response, Chandra considers that Shila is willing to listen to all the lies.
"Widya earlier explained some things about your declining condition, back again like first. No problem, honey. I can help you get back to being as calm as you were at the beginning of our marriage."
Chandra climbed a ladder, stopped. He raised his free hand to gently touch the edges of Shila's face. Tidying up each hair sapling that is free from the high bonds of this woman. After that, put the palm of his hand on Shila's cheek, before climbing one more rung.
"Sorry, huh?" whispered Chandra, while shrinking the distance of their faces, until their eyebrows met.
Chandra approaches carefully, waiting for Shila's response, but she is completely silent. Only the movement of the woman's eyes continues to follow Chandra, a sign that Shila is still listening to all the explanations.
Chandra's hand traversed from Shila's cheek, to the side of the woman's head, ending at the nape of her neck, to provide restraint. So that the woman does not dodge, or glance to the left-right, and simply see the seriousness of Chandra who is ready to hypnotize her. Using Shila's chance of silence, Chandra grew more and more willing to advance his chin, in order to bring their lips together. However, he had not even tasted anything from Shila's peach lips, when a sore prick jolted his breathing. He took a step down. Demi could see a foreign object lodged in her stomach, with Shila's hand grasping the handle.
Taking another step back, Shila's hand slipped easily from the sharp object's plastic handle. So Chandra could see clearly, that a knife was now embedded in his stomach.
His breathing was stammering, because he was too afraid to move the abdominal muscles. He needs help with opening his mouth so he can breathe calmly. The frown on his forehead formed deep, as he looked up at Shila who was still unmoved. The woman was still as untouched as before, as if nothing had happened right now.
Chandra himself could not expect anything from the female Shila. He is also not as brave to pull this foreign object, because it could cause a more severe tear. Thus, he could only rely on the remnants of his drastically drained energy to slowly descend the step saplings.
Yelling also can not be an option because it can make the abdominal muscles tighten. Another reason why he did not yell .. because it would only trigger curious humans to corner Shila for this case. Even if the woman is intentional. Shila wants death for Chandra. The man still had time to consider the adverse impact on Shila's mental state if people learned of the matter.
He didn't want that woman for anything.
Arriving on the ground floor completely, Chandra turned the body slowly. Fast, but full of caution. His sclera was already flushed, as he folded his lips inward to be bitten strongly. Occasionally cramming, to endure any almost unbearable pain. Then when he needs to breathe, Chandra will open his mouth wide, in order to get oxygen intake without having to move his abdominal muscles.
Her steps came to a halt, when the first time after she came, the woman finally let out a voice. But not talking to Chandra.
"Hello, Anwar. Can you get the car ready? Now." Now."
Chandra exhaled a rough breath, ignoring that the pain in his stomach was increasing. He smiled silently, and only needed to stand glued, waiting for the sound of footsteps behind him to approach. Until Shila walked ahead of him. With no intention of giving any help but to open the door.
...***...
Chandra had not even fully recovered from regional anesthesia after the surgery, but he was forced to get up from his lying position.
"No need!" Shila immediately forbade, by showing her right palm to Chandra. He approached the patient's bed, and stood up without even glancing at Chandra's face. Just focus on the bandage on the stomach. Once satisfied, then he glanced at Chandra with the corner of his lips raised.
Tell her that Chandra is stupid, because she even smiles thinly for this woman. He even accepted with pleasure the touch of Shila's hand on his head. Though it was the same hand, the cause he was in this place after going through a critical period during the journey.
"I'm fine now" Chandra said.
"I didn't ask you how you were."
The answer made Chandra snort. "Yes .. as you can see."
"I've taken care of your absence today, for the next two weeks, so .. focus on your healing."
Chandra nodded small. He was grateful in his heart, because at least, Mishall would know the reason he could not see him for the next two weeks. The woman should not be angry if Chandra silences her for a few days, because she has to focus on Shila.
"And ... I've contacted Widya to ask her about your reasons ...."
Chandra immediately dimmed his smile because of Shila's continued speech. His body is almost difficult to move, when this woman even looks calm. He touched Chandra's stomach, leaving the man no longer even knowing how to breathe. Shila pulled the corner of her right lip, then gave a gentle swab there.
"Sorry ...." Shila whispered low. "I was too angry last night."
Although Shila did not tell Widya the answer, Chandra could guess the help the doctor gave. Her breathing regained order, as Shila completely softened her expression. The woman even pulled out a chair for her to sit on, then grabbed Chandra's hand for a soft grip, occasionally playing her fingers.
"You know for yourself, Chandra." Shila opened her curses by twitching a few times, which Chandra knew was an attempt to hide her tears that were beginning to pool. "You .. the only .. I have now. The only one .. which if you yourself go away from me ... I don't know how bad I am going to be. So ... what I'm thinking is just .. how can you feel what I'm afraid of now."
"Trust me." Chandra changed Shila's grasp, so this time, he gently grasped the woman's hand with a little emphasis. "I will only be yours completely." He looked serious in his words, but no one realized that the man gulped after saying this.
Chandra doubted himself.
Luckily, Shila did not notice the change in her slightly anxious expression, as it was busy on Chandra's abdomen.
"It sure hurts, doesn't it?" Shila asked. It may sound like a stupid question to some people. However, since Chandra knew who asked was Rashila Ghana—the woman who forgot about the meaning of a physical pain—then she understood the question.
Smiling awkwardly, Chandra nodded at Shila's question. "So, do you want to keep me here until I get well?"
Shila calmly nodded, along with the smile that Chandra had always longed for. A sincere smile from his wife, who had disappeared since their great quarrel a few days ago.
