Chapter 24 Not easy to believe

In a room so quiet and cold. Only the ticking of the wall clock had filled that void ever since.

The two people in the room did not even speak.

Alana who was still lying weakly on top of the gurney with an infusion hose stuck in her left hand.

Arman has been sitting quietly on the sofa waiting for his wife to wake up.

"You're at Alana's hospital. Fainted at home" said Arman.

Alana looked at Arman then saw his hand attached to an infusion hose.

Alana fell silent then tried to remember what happened. And sure enough, before he had experienced dizziness and nausea. When he was about to stand up from the sofa suddenly his gaze darkened and after that he did not remember anything.

Shortly after, the doctor came to check on Alana.

"How are you Miss? Is it still lightheaded and nauseous?" ask the doctor while checking Alana's blood pressure.

"A little doc, but still nauseous" replied Alana.

"Alright, later I give medicine to reduce nausea. Indeed, nausea is natural when the age of pregnancy is still the first trimester. As long as it's not excessive you don't have to worry." the doctor tried to explain.

"What's? I'm pregnant doc?" alana was surprised.

"yes-yes.. Didn't your husband say it?" ask doctor.

Alana shook her head. Then he looked at Arman who was standing not far from him. Instantly his eyes warmed up. Whether this is good or bad news, Alana has not been able to digest it.

After the doctors and nurses who examined her left, Alana tried to ask Arman.

"Mas.. Am I really pregnant?"

Arman just nodded. Didn't say a word.

And when she found out she was pregnant, it was certain that it was Andra's flesh and blood.

But the problem is that Andra is gone. Alana also resigned, if Arman will throw him out he will not be surprised. Maybe it's the way it is.

But Alana's estimates seem to miss. Arman walked up to Alana and rubbed her head.

"It's okay. I will take full responsibility for your pregnancy. Just so you take good care of it." said Arman straightforwardly.

Alana who was originally bowed now ventured to look at Arman. The mature man who is now legally her husband.

"But.. He's not-" Alan's speech was cut off the instant Arman interrupted him.

"Let's just say it's a gift from God" For the first time Alana saw a sincere smile etched on the man's face.

There was a feeling of admiration as well. The Arman he knew was very different from the one he is today.

If Alana used to be so scared and wanted to stay away from him now Alana feels safe when with Arman.

Alana could no longer hold back her tears. The net feels warm and powerless to cry. The cry that was originally restrained was now turned into a sob.

"pardon me.. I'm sorry.." Alana said to her stuffing.

Arman who had been holding back his feelings now immediately hugged Alana. Letting the woman process all the emotions raging in her heart.

"I'm sorry.. I have sinned, I have betrayed you. I'm a bad, dirty wife.." Alana kept cursing herself.

Arman remained silent and hugged Alana. He rubbed his wife's head trying to calm her down.

"It's not your fault Alana. I who am cruel have brought you into this misery. I have taken away your freedom, I have also tormented you often. So let me make amends for all my mistakes". This sincere expression from Arman made Alana's body feel trembling.

How could it end up like this. Will Alana accept Arman's apology or still maintain her ego? Alana is still confused and difficult to digest.

Suddenly Alana breaks away from Arman's embrace and stares at the man sharply.

"Alana.." call Arman down. He tries to calm Alana down but quickly Alana slaps Arman's hand.

The trauma he experienced when he first met Arman still lingered in his head. How cruel the man's treatment made him distrustful of Arman's sincerity at this time.

"I've been hurt a lot. Please do not add any more wounds. Don't make me hope for a reality I can't reach." Alana refused.

Arman doesn't understand Alana's intentions. But the woman's stated denial seems to be related to her trauma. So Arman tried to give understanding to Alana.

"Alana, listen to me. I never meant to lie to you. Let's prove whether I'm lying or not. But please don't risk yourself again. Keep your guts and don't mind much." Arman.

Alana was silent. There is a point in Arman's words, but he cannot just be complacent with his words. Need proof that Arman really did to him.

And now Arman's job is to make Alana believe that what she's doing for her is sincerity.
