KAYLA, The Substitute

KAYLA, The Substitute
It's not that simple

Kayla paused for a moment when she was about to enter the inpatient room where Khanza was given current care and treatment.

How not there is Mrs Lolita who is guarding Khanza who has not stopped crying.

Dev sees it being a smile, he knows his mother and Kayla are getting into an awkward feeling with each other.

"Come in, thank you for coming here" Lolita told the increasingly awkward Kayla.

Kayla nods and follows Dev in, not daring to say much more than taking over Khanza from Dev who tries to calm the boy down.

Sure enough, Khanza was slowly silent after being caressed on his back by Kayla, the six-month-old baby finally fell asleep on Kayla's shoulders who was good at coaxing her.

Again, Mrs Lolita fell silent in awe, she and her nanny Khanza alone were so difficult to face the baby since, in Kayla's hands who would have thought Khanza was so easy to fall asleep in just a matter of a dozen minutes.

Dev receives a phone call, leaving Kayla with her mother there, while Khanza's nanny has just come home to pick up clothes.

While putting Khanza to sleep in a patient's bed, Mrs Lolita began to get used to talking to the woman she paid for a few years ago.

Whether what they were talking about until Kayla did not argue much, she just followed the flow of the conversation.

But one interesting thing, Kayla finally shook her head for the last conversation.

"I'm sorry, ma'am, I can't. I appreciate all the opinions of the Madam. About the past, Madam does not need to remember, I have forgotten the bad relationship between us. Then about Bang Dev, it wasn't easy for us to get back together after everything that happened let alone me just failing to remarry, and now for the sake of pitying Khanza. Marriage is not that simple."

Kayla returns the hand of the middle-aged woman who now wants her back to Dev.

"Believe me, Bang Dev and I are really living a good relationship because we have a son to raise together, I have not thought of remarrying, two failed attempts scared me a little bit to start over."

Lady Lolita was silent, but in the end she nodded trying to understand Kayla's feelings.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have forced you. You're good Kayla, I'm wrong with you a lot."

They smiled at each other, clasping hands made Dev who saw the scene to be staring at the doorway, he felt it was a sight that made him happy if it happened when Kayla was still his wife first.

Kayla is so hard to conquer now, she even loses the way to take the woman's heart again, while Khanza really needs a figure like Kayla at the moment.

"What are you talking about so seriously?" cetus Dev pretended not to hear the conversation.

Madam Lolita immediately wiped away the rest of her tears.

"It's nothing, it's just about Khanza. The fever's coming down, I'm hungry, can I excuse me to the cafeteria for a minute?" kayla smiled as she kissed Khanza on the cheek.

"Come on Dev, take Kayla to lunch first. Khanza's getting better, Mama's gonna take care of him."

Dev nodded. Kayla got off the patient bed and left Lady Lolita who was staring at her back with regret.

In the cafeteria, Kayla was more silent than Dev, they ate lunch in silence that dissolved in each other's minds.

In the evening, Kayla is forced to stay the night because Khanza does not want to get away from her, somehow the baby is so sticky on Kayla and only Kayla can make her calm with an infusion hose in hand.

Kayla patted the soft back of Khanza who was about to sleep down nursing, she became weak as she stared at the tiny face of the motherless baby, who had no mother, imagining the growth of Khanza without a mother who accompanied him really made him unable to hold back his tears.
