KAYLA, The Substitute

KAYLA, The Substitute
Rafi

Brakes. The sound of a collision was inevitable.

Dev immediately got out of his car when he felt he hit something.

How surprised he was to see a little boy fall down with his bike, Dev immediately approached with an anxious look.

"Hey, I'm sorry. I didn't mean it, my God..... Where's that sick?" dev asked worriedly after carrying the boy to the edge.

The boy complained of pain, he pointed at his elbow and ankle that felt pain.

"It's Uncle, ouch... It hurts so bad" the boy whined his leg.

"How can you ride a bike on the highway, it's dangerous. Sorry Uncle, let's go to the hospital now!" take Dev who immediately brought the child into his car.

The boy who looked the same age as Adrian was still complaining when they were already on their way to the hospital.

"Calm down, Uncle will take responsibility. Hopefully you are not seriously injured" Dev said as he drove his car at a moderate speed.

"Yes Uncle, I'm also sorry I was wrong not to see when crossing," replied the child as his face grimaced.

"Can you tell me your parents' address and phone number? Let me call!"

The boy nodded.

"Well, what's your name?"

"Rafi Uncle."

"Okay, we'll be at the nearest hospital soon. Be patient Rafi."

Rafi nodded again amid the pain she experienced due to her negligence earlier.

At the emergency room, Rafi was treated by doctors and nurses who were on guard that afternoon. Luckily there was no severe injury, only sprained in the left ankle and scuffed the elbow only.

Dev has contacted Rafi's parents to come to the hospital immediately. Dev faithfully accompanied Rafi who had not been able to exit IGD because he waited for the administrative process of the costs he had to spend.

Every now and then he looked at Rafi's face, feeling that Rafi looked like someone who was no stranger to him. Adrian's face then appeared in his mind, the child who was the same age as his son had just been hit even though accidentally.

What if this happened to Adrian, really Dev did not want his son to be hit by a disaster like this, children the age of Rafi and Adrian did need special attention when they were engrossed in playing, he said, boys are more active than girls.

Dev wonders why Rafi can play to the highway, how the pattern of supervision of his parents when the child plays out of the home environment.

I don't know if Dev doesn't want to guess, he's grateful that Rafi hasn't experienced anything more terrible than now, he's waiting to meet Rafi's parents so he can apologize for this accident.

"Rafi, may uncle ask?"

"Can you ask what?" said Rafi innocently while continuing to hold the bandage on the elbow of her left hand.

"Your parents didn't forbid you from playing away? Why are you playing on the highway? You know, kid, it's dangerous."

"My father was busy working and preparing for his wedding, I was just a babysitter every day. It just so happens that my nanny again makes me food, so I just play first" replied Rafi innocently.

Hearing that makes Dev speechless, like this if the child plays far from the supervision of parents, even though even paid caregivers are not necessarily able to take care of the child properly.

"Other times it can't be like this okay? Your babysitter should know where you're going, and after all you shouldn't go outside without a permit let alone onto the highway, remember Rafi the highway is dangerous for a child."

Rafi nodded.

"Yes Uncle, I'm sorry....."

Hearing that Dev became anxious, he rubbed Rafi's head.

"Why was your mom and dad so long?" dev asked while looking at the clock on his wrist.

Dev is speechless, knowing now that Rafi is not with her parents intact. Remembering again he will be Adrian, this is the parenting pattern of children whose parents divorced.

Where a busy father works, like Rafi he is only taken care of by paid servants. It is not a mother who is supposed to watch and watch her son play.

Dev wonders how Adrian played all this time, who watches him if Kayla is busy at the store, he is grateful when he remembers Mama Hana, Dev believes his son is not like Rafi who is out of parental control while playing.

"Okay, dear, Uncle called the administration. You can sleep before your parents come here."

Rafi nodded and smiled at Dev who was away.

The administration is done, just waiting for the prescription of the drug that is being prepared for home treatment.

In front of the hospital pharmacy that happened to be in front of the IGD room. Dev sees Kayla walking hastily towards him, this man wonders why his ex-wife is now in the hospital.

"Kaila?" muttered Dev confused.

This man immediately remembered Adrian, lest Kayla go to the hospital because Adrian thought Dev.

Soon Dev approached Kayla but it turned out Kayla instead led to the figure of Rafi who was waiting for the recipe in the waiting chair.

Dev stops his steps, he sees Kayla hugging Rafi with a worried face. Slowly he approached.

"Darling you're okay? How did you get hit by Rafi, you made Mama anxious!"

"Kaila?" call Dev curious.

Kayla.

"Bang Dev's? Did you hit Rafi?"

Dev did not immediately answer, in the heart of this man immediately remembered the words of Rafi who said her new Mama candidate would also come here for the child. Is Rafi a prospective child from Kayla?

"Bang Dev?"

"Kayla......" Dev stuttered to himself.

Rafi explains that it was not Dev's fault that hit her, but rather he who had been careless and did not tell his nanny if playing away.

Kayla was relieved that Rafi was not seriously injured in the accident.

"I'm sorry Bang Dev, thank you for taking responsibility and taking Rafi to the hospital. Her father will be here soon" Kayla told Dev, who has been silent since.

"Yes, I'm sorry too...."

Dev took a breath and again asked, "What is Rafi?"

Kayla nodded, "He's been like my son, a close friend of Adrian since childhood. His father's my husband's future."

Kayla's reply made Dev even more speechless, how could he bump into the child who was about to become a sibling.

Kayla is busy paying attention to Rafi, Dev sees her, the closeness of Kayla and the child is worthy of mother and child. Kayla has a strong motherly aura, all her heart can be mastered, even a baby Khanza can fall in love with the woman.

Dev took the medicine from the pharmacy counter after being called by the attendant. But when he looked again at Kayla and Rafi who were waiting, he was really surprised when the figure of a man approached the two in a hurry.

Dev sharpens his vision to the man who now hugs Rafi and holds Kayla's hand.

Sure enough, that face. Dev still memorized his face. The face he so desperately wanted to wipe off the face of the earth.

Dev started to step closer with a reddened face.
