BSM Chapter. 25
Laura is confused when Edrick, Ryan's assistant asks her to deliver a package of cake orders to the presdirectory room. While others have been taken over by office security officers to be distributed to staff.
And now in his confusion Laura stood in front of the president's desk, holding a bag containing a box of cookies ordered this morning at his cake shop.
“Please sit.” Ryan opened his right hand. Invite Laura to sit on an available chair in front of her desk.
But Laura instead put the bag on the table politely without daring to look at Ryan's face.
“I am here to deliver customer orders. Please, Mr.” Laura took a slow breath.
“Please sit first.” Ryan invited Laura to sit down.
Laura was flirting. He did not move a single inch from his place. Besides being anxious and afraid, he also felt unworthy to sit in front of the man. Which in fact is not just anyone.
“Sorry, Sir. About that indemnity, I..”.
“Not done? You already paid it off.” Ryan cut Laura's words. That automatically confused Laura.
“I've considered it paid off with you coming here,” Ryan continued.
“Thank you very much, Sir,” said Laura half-bent her body.
“Then, excuse me, Sir. Thanks for understanding.” Lekas Laura twisted her body, about to leave the place. His steps had already swung, but Ryan's audible voice prevented the move from leaving.
“Wait.”
Automatic swing step Laura stopped. He turned his body, faced Ryan. The one staring at him was intense, as if there was something strange on his face.
“What if this cake tastes bad? Shouldn't you be responsible? I don't want to lose,” Ryan said as he reached out his right hand, reaching for the bag containing the cake Laura placed on his desk.
Laura lowered her face. But he did not move out of his place at all. He waited anxiously for a response from Ryan about the taste of the cake made. He crushed his trembling fingers, so nervous waiting for what the man was about to say.
While Laura was anxious, nervous, even to the point of trembling. Ryan just looks relaxed enjoying the cake while occasionally glancing at Laura.
Geez, can't she eat fast. Well, how long do I have to wait? Like that inner Laura thrashed. No power to wait any longer.
“You want to stand there? It's still a long time. The cake is not over,” said Ryan with a flat face while showing a cake box that still leaves some.
Laura peeked, looking at the box of cookies. But quickly he returned his head when accidentally his gaze met Ryan's view. Ryan's pair of brown eyes made Laura peck in place, not daring to get close.
“You don't want to know how I thought about your cake?” ryan asked, sounding like he wanted to tease Laura.
Why am I so fucking unlucky today? How can I meet a customer like this? Really annoying. Laura nodded back in her heart. He felt like he was being bullied by a stranger.
“If you don't want to sit down it's okay too. But what if my words were taken back. And the compensation you have to pay will double. Please consider,” said Ryan, then back to eating cake. There was no expression on Ryan's face while eating the cake. As if there is no special taste of Laura's cake.
“If you want to go, no problem. Please. But ..” Ryan paused his sentence for a moment. He has finished his activities. Then lean back on the seat back after contacting someone via a parallel phone at the corner of his desk.
Laura was still waiting anxiously for the next sentence from the strange man. When asked, he really did not feel at home for long in this room. Though the temperature in the room was cool to hit, but the sweat even poured from his forehead. The man before him was like a ghost testing his guts. Yes, handsome-faced ghost.
“Replace the loss I increased to three times. Please!” ryan sounded serious. His face was no more expression. Flat with a cold gaze that froze Laura's steps. Even Laura was not leaving the place.
How not. Without increasing many times, Laura still does not have enough money to replace the cost of repair Ryan's car whose value for Laura is quite fantastic. Either it was a fair price or he was being fooled. Laura doesn't know. But clearly, he wanted to immediately stop dealing with the strange and strange man.
“But, if you choose to sit, then everything I consider paid off!” ryan said, Give Laura a choice.
While Laura was thinking, an Office Boy came to bring Ryan a glass of water. Before leaving Office Boy it said,
“Thank you very much for the cake, sir. The cake is delicious. Many praised.”
“Oh yes?” Ryan glanced at Laura who seemed to be smiling faintly hearing Office Boy's remark. The smile that had made him stunned even though the smile was as thin as a tissue.
“All love with Master's gift cake. Anyway top markotop,” add the Office Boy while giving his thumbs up. Then leave the room immediately.
The faint smile on Laura's face had yet to subside. So happy to hear the response of the Office Boy, he did not even realize if Ryan was paying attention to him at this time. The positive response from Office Boy was enough to comfort his heart that was lost due to Theo.
“It was just a comment from an employee. Not necessarily I will give the same comment,” said Ryan.
Made Laura exhale in annoyance. If it wasn't for him ruining that guy's car, he might have left earlier. It's okay to lose one customer like this. Instead of having to deal with a strange person who really tests patience.
“Please. There is still one chance left for you.” Ryan said as he opened his right hand, inviting Laura back to sit in front of him.
There was no other choice for Laura. With great constancy he finally chose to drag his steps closer, then took a seat in front of Ryan's desk like the man's command.
Though Laura was just mediocre, like a guest in general. Even from the attitude, the speech, to the appearance, nothing special. But Ryan's heart was racing as soon as Laura was close, in front of his eyes.
A face that is the same as the one he admired 15 years ago. But now, the face looks more mature.15 years have passed, but the pounding on his chest is still the same as when he first met.
“Please Mr. commenting. I'm ready to listen. Please let me go after this. A lot of work is waiting,” Laura said politely.
Instead of giving a quick response, Ryan opened his desk drawer. Took an object from inside, then pushed it in front of Laura.
Laura's confused. No need to ask, he knows enough about what. Judging from the brand listed on the black box made of leather, he could already guess what the contents inside were. Only what puzzled him was why it was given to him.
“Sorry, I've lost your watch. Please accept this. Think of it as a substitute for what you gave me 15 years ago.” Ryan says. Which automatically makes Laura's forehead wrinkled even more confused.
“Sorry, Sir. I don't understand what you mean, sir. Sorry, I can't accept it. Excuse me, Mr.” Laura woke up from her seat. Swinging his steps quickly was about to leave the room. But again the pace had to come to a halt when Ryan said,
“Laura, you don't remember me?”
