As the night grew darker Alice decided to rest her body after a long day of waiting. She replaced her dress with simple pajamas different from what she used to wear.
It's been three days since that happened. Alice sighed heavily in boredom to keep waiting. After turning off the lighting lantern, he laid down his body. Alice then closed and fell asleep in her sleep.
Tak..Tak..Tak...
Such was the sound of the foot slowly climbing up the steps of the tower. A person wearing a robe with an adult male posture generally walked down a dark hallway while slowly stepping his legs.
He smiled as if his lips could reach his ears. "With this anti-magic device, I can use my magic in this place." His mind.
The Tower of Hope, or Wishing Tower, is the tallest building in the capital. With many beautiful scenery that can be seen while at the top, including almost the entire building of the Royal Palace itself. However, due to a tragedy, people began to call it The Judgment Tower or the Judgment Tower.
One of the special things about it is the magic circle embedded in the underground of the tower that makes the people inside unable to use their magic. The magic circle was supposedly created by the founder of the Witch Tower itself.
After a long time climbing the stairs, the cloaked man finally reached the top floor. Right in front of Alice's door, she took a small dagger from under her cloak.
Did he want to kill Alice who was sound asleep using that dagger?
The man opened the door and moved slowly trying not to wake Alice.
"After all, this was not murder but suicide." His inner murmur as he grinned.
He walked until he finally reached Alice's bedside. He leaned over and brought his mouth closer to Alice's ear. It was as if she was throwing something into Alice's ear.
Is that magic?
Hearing the man's whisper, the sleeping Alice suddenly opened her eyes. His trembling hand moved taking the dagger thrust by the cloaked man.
"Good.... Do it now." His whisper.
Alice's trembling hands held the dagger. He then raised the other hand. Like a suicidal person, it turns out that the man controlled Alice's mind to slice the veins on her wrists so that people would see Alice's death as a real suicide.
The man smiled as Alice's right hand slightly slashed the other wrist.
"The soul that has been honed for hundreds of years is not something that such lowly magic can control." Inwardly Alice then she quickly thrust the dagger into the heart of the robed man.
The robed man shouted in pain. He moved backwards and away from Alice while holding her chest that continued to drain blood. Yep. Blood is different from a human.
"You!!! How can?!" Upset the man pointed his index finger at Alice.
Alice leisurely got out of her bed. His satisfied face answered the man. "Killing you too sharp wakes me up."
The man was flossing his tongue. He looked at Alice while gritting his teeth. "I admit your greatness but it's a pity that you will die here anyway." Then he attacked Alice with fireball magic.
Alice avoided it easily. "It turns out you demon races can still survive, even though I think I've pierced your heart, and..Do you have a device capable of counteracting the effects of this tower?"
Seeing that the cloaked man had just fired a fireball of course he was holding a tool that could counteract the effects of the magic circle in this tower. Alice's guess is getting stronger on him.
"certain. Is that your last question?" The man got up and stood up straight as if he was fine.
Although his chest continued to drain blood but the man ignored him.
"No, but before that. Can you show me your face? I'm pretty saturated with people in robes who've been acting mysterious lately. That's not it, sir...Berness or should I call you Mr. Counselor."
Berness was surprised, it turned out that his identity had been known by the girl before him. Since it was no longer useful to disguise himself, Berness pulled the hood of his robe. The middle-aged man with a slight blend of white hair in some parts between his black hair and a long, slightly circular mustache up at the end.
It seems like what Alice guessed. That Dirty Mana Energy was not just from the Queen alone. When he was taken to the tower. He could still faintly sense that dirty Mana from somewhere. Especially when he knew that the man in front of him had an anti-magic device that should only be owned by the King and his confidants.
Alice tilted her head as she asked "The chance to live?"
"Yes. Join us the demon race. You can become stronger. It doesn't matter whether you have Mana Heart or not, but when you join us. Power, wealth, or whatever. You can get it easily."
Berness reached out her hand in a gesture to call Alice.
"I'm not interested." Alice answered spontaneously.
"that's stupid." Berness chuckled for a moment "Because you seem so arrogant, accept your death."
[Infring--]
It's not finished yet, she's unleashed her magic. Alice had pierced berness' stomach with her sword Qi.
"You....!!!" Berness then spewed blood from his mouth.
His eyes could not see where the attack had come from. Berness fell to his knees. "Magic? But how is it possible....No, it's not.magic."
Berness. He looked at the girl in front of him. Highlight those sharp and cold eyes were so piercing. Like an assassin who has no feeling when slashing the neck of his prey. Berness underestimated his opponent this time around.
Berness coughed up blood, with the rest of his energy he had uttered a few light sentences. "You won..." He lifted his head and took a deep breath. "For Him Ya-"
Alice moved first. Alice had quickly stood before Berness "Don't think I don't know your game." He said in a flat tone as he strangled hard Berness' neck. "I don't know what spell it is. But don't expect me to just let you go after everything you've done."
Berness cursed his misfortune. It was really cornered. His last card to blow himself up has been knocked down by Alice. But as a pure demon race, he remained arrogant in the face of his death. "Ma.nusia. A bunch of pests.. What do..want.you do?"
"Say your purpose?" Alice's short question with a stiff expression on her face felt so gripping in Berness' ears. The grip of the hand on her neck grew stronger however, Alice knew and purposely held back her power so that Berness would not lose her consciousness.
"Good...I'll. say sa... that's the thing for you..." Alice then stretched her grip, In a state of kneeling Berness was finally able to breathe a sigh of relief but that had not guaranteed her life.
"There's a prophecy."
"Pregnancy?"
"Yes. We had a prophecy that our God, Evil God, would be reborn once again."
"..... Continue."
"I don't know the rest. That'sallthatis..Ukkk"
Alice once again clutched Berness firmly but it did not make her despair. Berness looked at Alice straightly the opposite way. "I only knew that we were ordered to find a girl with shiny hair like gold."
Alice instantly widened her eyes. "Is that why I'm always on the incar?" Mumbled slowly.
Looking at Alice's silent face it seemed like Berness knew what the girl was thinking. "Haha....Yeah, Alicia that girl is you. But do you know." Berness was silent for a moment before he went mad with his laughter that filled the entire room. "We just need a golden-haired girl, if we fail to get you. You must know who's next."
Alice clenched her teeth. He realized after thinking about it for a moment, he knew the person that the demon in front of him meant. A violent surge of pressure suddenly filled the entire tower.
Eve killed a very strong one. Alice clutched tightly around Berness' neck. Then he lifted it up.
After gathering the Qi Energy on her index finger Alice touched Berness' forehead.
A very painful feeling spread throughout his body. Hot and piercing. Each of his nerves and joints seemed to be torn apart bit by bit.
Berness wriggled in pain on the floor before he finally died.
