It has been two months since Vincent's attack on the headquarters of the criminal organization in the kingdom, Eclipse. From then on, Vincent thought that evil was something that could be eradicated until the root was pure ignorance.
There is no solution to the problem in this regard, as it has existed since the founding of the Iwreneian Kingdom and will continue until the end, or even after that.
However, at least crime can be controlled and shaped for a greater purpose.
At least that's what Vincent, an experienced man in such matters, thought as long as he served in the army. However, the idea was always contrary to his duties and responsibilities in his former world, adding he did not have the power to assert it. But here, he can and will do his best for himself and the future with what he has. Even though it would be against morals, it was still necessary.
Of course, Vincent did not tell his plans to the Duke of Mandoze. Vincent believes if he talks about his plans to Duke Mandoze, it will be rejected outright. So, the one who made the most sense to talk to was Celestine, the person she assumed had one thought in common with her.
And here, Vincent and Celestine have a private conversation with Vincent who is accompanied by Matilda, one of the informants she has and believes in this.
"Are you crazy?" It was a word that came out from the mouth of a noble princess before him. Judging his status and standing, it was clear that it was incompatible with his ethics as a noble.
"I'm serious about it, Celestine. Think about what will be the benefits we get. Information is important here, and we have that means by controlling the remains of the Eclipse. Plus we have the advantage in terms of either material or power, and I have begun the Eclipse reform after your troops have cleared their headquarters." Vincent said that explains the advantages of his plan. Celestine on the other hand made a face, conflicted with what she was about to decide. Whether it's joining Vincent or not.
"Tell Vincent, what do you want to do with the remains of the Eclipse." Celestine asked, intrigued by Vincent's thoughts coming out of the box.
"Limiting evil in this Kingdom, to be honest. I'm somewhat attached to this country, not to mention my relationship with you plus other things I want to protect."
"What do you mean."
"Listen Celestine, to think evil is something that can be eradicated is pure ignorance... There is no solution to the problem, it has existed since the establishment of the kingdom and will continue until the end, or even after that." Vincent begins, firmness in his tone, this is just a part of life that needs to be accepted.
"But evil can be controlled and shaped for a greater purpose." Vincent added, making sure to give Celestine time to intervene if he wanted to.
"Think of your own plan Celestine. You seek information regarding the traitors in the ranks of the nobles of this kingdom and advance your family to become more than the other 2 great nobles. While I'm here give you the means to get accurate information and additional power with my plan. Then again, it is evident that the traitors are related to Eclipse itself." Vincent said in a convincing tone, making Celestine pensive for a moment to consider the pros and cons of this.
'The purpose of justifying ways.' is what Celestine thought of this. But he needed time to answer that because of his enormous responsibility to make that decision. Moreover, Duke Mandoze, his own father was not included in Vincent's own plans because he wanted to advance his development with his die.
Celestine sighed and then spoke. "Give me time to think, at least three days and I'll give you an answer."
With that said Vincent got up and walked away leaving the room with Matilda following right behind him.
...Xxvx...
Matilda let out a heavy sigh and wriggled in her chair. It's been two months since Vincent's takeover and he's been very busy ever since.
The first month is a mess. Vincent's ruthless and sudden takeover leaves some wounds in the organization. Some way out was lost and for a while, it seemed like the entire organization was about to collapse. Fortunately, he managed to hold it. The success was not small because of the fear and terror inspired by the figure of Vincent to the rest of the Eclipse higher-ups.
Now Eclipse is renamed Gehena and the person in charge is Vincent himself. Despite the many things Matilda did because she knew more about the nature of Eclipse herself.
After saving Vincent, Matilda finally got what she wanted. The power over the Eclipse is now renamed Gehena. He was grateful for that, but oddly enough Vincent apologized to him and said 'this shouldn't be the thing you did, but I'll ask for your help on this.' It was a little confusing, but she took it for granted and in her heart she promised to be loyal to him after what she had done for him.
After weeks, Matilda finally got a plan to reshape the organization. Every organization needs a purpose or something to aspire to. He decided that Gehenna would focus on Vincent. The goal will be their priority. This will usually be a dangerous plan. Normally, such an organization would collapse into a smaller group as soon as its center man died, but Vincent's unique nature turned a huge weakness into his greatest strength.
It is said that Vincent never hesitated to kill anyone who opposed him at full force. It made the higher-ups think back to committing treason, also with the loss of the main force, their leader in the head of the security division that was classified as the strongest man in the underworld kingdom, Katru Truf, they had nothing to threaten Vincent who had the direct power and support of one of the three great nobles. At least in the paper.
But for this major change to occur, Matilda had to start changing the organizational base. First, he had to remove all the members that could not be controlled completely. That included many groups of thugs and some members of the organization who were not very sane. It must have caused a huge loss in the strength and number of Gehena, something the former Eclipse, now called Administrator, did not ignore and periodically complained about.
Not much came out of their grievances as no one dared to oppose Matilda openly and she also immediately moved to resolve the matter.
It was easy, really easy. Desperate people are easy to find. Offer a beggar a future for themselves and their family and they will fight the world for you. Offer a piece of bread to an orphan or a street rat and they'll cut his throat. In less than a few weeks, there were no more homeless people in the lower districts and Gehena solved their number problem. True, they still needed to be trained well, but right now cannon fodder was enough.
They are easily employed. When he communicated the results to Vincent, he felt a certain level of happiness in his words as he congratulated him. He also suggested putting up some ground rules about payments and holidays. He wasn't sure at first. After all, giving too much freedom to your worker can backfire easily, but he is amazed by how well it works in general. They still have some minor issues, but the benefits far outweigh them.
Happy workers are hard workers.' He remembered the words Vincent used to describe the benefits of his idea and rightly so.
With that in mind, Matilda returned to her work.
"The kingdom is beginning to change." He said while looking back at the documents in front of him.
