Five days have passed since the group of Vincent, Sofia, Gill and Lisa accompanied by the Rose Order traveled to the capital of the Iwreneian Kingdom. According to Sofia's calculations, their trip took four more days to reach the capital at their current speed. So far everything has been fine, nothing has stood in the way of their journey.
Just like the days before their trip, the group will rest when the sun begins to set behind the mountain. Choose a place to set up camp and do other tasks such as cooking or collecting water.
Vincent was sitting in front of the bonfire and it was late. Vincent himself had volunteered to stand guard that night, accompanied by Vincent and several Knights. Daydreaming in front of the campfire while thinking about his next destination after fulfilling the King's invitation. So far he has two options, to settle in the capital and find a job to make ends meet or go on an adventure and discover new things while hoping to get a clue as to why he was sent to this world. The complicated things Vincent thinks about.
"Hey Vincent! It's time to switch and let me take over this guard duty."
The words diverted Vincent's mind, making him turn his head towards the source of the voice coming from Gill who had been awake for the next guard duty.
"Good." Vincent nodded while scraping his coat and took out a small flashlight before throwing it towards Gill who was caught in time, "Use that, you just need to press the back of it to light the thing."
Gill who received the flashlight tried what Vincent instructed, pressing the button on the back to make the flashlight turn on before pressing it again to turn it off.
"Is this a magical thing?" Asked the curious Gill as well as amazed, not only was Vincent able to pull out a powerful weapon out of nowhere, some of his items were also unique, as well, like the food in brackets in thin iron cans called Ramsum or this flashlight thing.
"No, it's not." Vincent answered, shaking his head. "That's the result of someone's genius." Vincent said as he tapped the side of his temple with one finger many times.
"So this is without magical ingredients?" Gill and Vincent just nodded to answer her.
"Gill, if I may ask you something?" Vincent asked as Gill sat on a wooden trunk with a chair in front of the campfire.
"Please."
"Why did you join the Rose Order?" Gill stared into Vincent's eyes after hearing Vincent's question before his eyes turned to the campfire.
"I hate the Empire." That was Gill's answer, Vincent waited a while to hear another explanation Gill might have wanted to say, but after a short time, no more words came out of Gill's mouth and Vincent thought he didn't want to go into detail on why.
A sigh escaped Vincent's lips as he shook his head.
"Revenge is not one of the good goals, but I understand where hatred comes from." Vincent said as he poked the bonfire.
"Are you going to tell me not to do that?" Gill asked, clearly offended by Vincent's remark.
"No. Because I know what it's like and I've done the same thing." Vincent replied as he looked into Gill's eyes. "Just do that as motivation and encouragement. Remember, don't embrace your revenge too much."
"Because I was a soldier before I ended up here. I know all the pain of loss because I have experienced it. Just one message for you, don't make revenge an obsession above all else or you'll regret it."
With that Vincent stood up, staring at Gill for a moment who had pondered his words before stepping away to return to his tent.
...Xxvx...
As Vincent tried to lie down and rest in the tent he had provided, the sound of a steel impact awakened him spontaneously and he rushed out of his tent. Taking out the dual Winchester M1887 stored in its sheath, Vincent rushes towards the place where the sound came from.
His eyes narrowed as he looked at the group of people who were fighting with some Knights who were on duty to guard tonight. The group consisted of men with leather armor as their armor, although some used iron flats in some parts, Vincent was able to conclude that they were bandits.
But another question came to mind Vincent.
'Why did the bandits attack the camp inhabited by many knights?' Whether they're too confident or stupid, Vincent doesn't know. But this is a little awkward for him.
Putting that thought aside, Vincent rushed to help the knights while protecting those who could not fight. Hoping that the knights could arrest some bandits for interrogation to ascertain his concerns.
Setting up his Dual Shotgun Vincent runs, lunging ahead of the enemy with one of the unfortunate bandits hit by a knee-to-belly blow by Vincent before he shoots him to death.
'Come Vincent! You have relaxed your own potential due to sitting too much all this time! Strengthen your muscles and mind, recall the time when you were in Black Ops 'Jungle Ghost'.' Vincent thought as he forced himself to recall every muscle memory and focus to the maximum extent to regain his curiosity while he was still triumphant in the Black Ops members.
Vincent moved back, slamming his rifle butt into one of the approaching bandits with a raised sword, causing the bandit to stagger back from the impact received by his head. Then another arm was raised to block the other bandit on the opposite side of his rifle barrel, aiming with the weapon that had slammed the knight's head with a rifle butt, aiming at him, Vincent shoots the bandit still holding his sword with another shotgun in his hand which he ends by cocking the weapon with a Spin Reload move, after his enemy he believes has died.
With a long breath Vincent moved once more to finish off the next enemy.
Meanwhile, Gill provides help from the back row along with Lisa who casts her spell, be careful not to hit allies because his views are limited by the light of the torch and flashlight that Vincent lent to Gill.
Sofia on his part, coordinated the Rose Order into two groups. One was to attack the bandits and the other to protect the people who could not fight, such as the maids, coachmen and a few others.
In the midst of the rush, Sofia's mind raced as she coordinated the knights. He himself did not join the fight because he did not think about this and nor did he wear his combat equipment like armor, because if he wore it now, it would take a lot of time. After all who would attack those who contained many knights, this was clearly not normal for him.
His gaze turned to the place where Vincent fought and was amazed by what he saw. The way Vincent moves, the way he defeats his enemies brutally yet elegantly captivates him.
"He was different from the way he fought at Angelbarrow. I don't know why he's a little wild." Sofia Murmured.
