"Haha .. I think we have awakened something ridiculous … "
Cryll was only able to laugh dryly as he watched the changes that had happened to the clown.
Some of the dry transparent tentacles bent themselves as the muddy black color slowly filled the void.
The clown's laughter grew louder, and the changes to his body slowly added some other changes.
Hundreds, and thousands, of maggots that slowly began to show their color, were piled on top of each other all over the clown's body, which had turned into a hybrid scorpion-crab.
"disgusting … "
Norman frowned to himself as he looked at the figure of the clown. Noelle, however, could not say anything to react.
He could only voice the simple things he was thinking.
"Well, at least we have something certain to fight now … "
The three of them instantly fell silent, not knowing what to say when they saw that the clown transformation had been completed.
Although they were a little anxious about the sudden appearance of this monster, strangely they felt a certain relief now.
That may be because they feel more relaxed when finding one definite goal.
Fighting against these strange monsters was better than having to wander around without direction, trying to find clues that might not be there.
Slowly, the clown that had turned into a monster let out an extremely loud shouting sound. His mouth opened slightly, but a deafening shrill voice instantly came out accompanied by an unusually strong shockwave.
Cryll and Norman directly stuck their swords to the ground, frowning and grinding their teeth in an attempt to not be thrown off due to the shockwave. Seen clearly, the two of them were not too bothered by the sound of his screams.
Their ears were only slightly buzzing, and it did not give any ill effects other than losing their balance a little.
But that doesn't apply to Noelle.
He created a thorn made of blood, wrapped around his own feet and stuck it to the ground so that he would not move from his position. Both of his hands painstakingly tried to cover his ears, in order to block out all the incoming sounds.
Even so, all the upata he did was in vain. The terrifying screams still echoed and entered his ears without a hitch.
The stimulation Noelle's eardrum received was enough to make her grimace in pain.
Blood started to flow out of her ears and nostrils, but it was not long before Noelle finally began to adapt to this situation.
He slowly let go of his hand, and took a deep breath to calm down.
(My ears are too sensitive, it's terrible. I may have to find a solution for another time .. )
Shortly after, he finally calmed down. He stood firmly and watched the clown that had turned into that monster. His cries began to fade, and were replaced with the aggressiveness of his slender tentacles writhing irregularly.
One of the tentacles swiftly shot towards them, showing a taper passage that reminded Noelle of the tip of the spear.
The three of them immediately jumped in different directions to prepare for another attack, but Norman did not want to wait any longer, so he immediately fired a few shaved bullets at the tentacle, and a few more were right in the middle of the clown's body that had turned into a monster.
"This condition ... Did he experience berserk? "
Noelle did not miss a single word that Norman muttered. He wondered in his heart, not quite understanding Norman's intentions.
If it's berserk conditions, then Noelle knows enough about it. After all, Charlotte who was previously on her team almost experienced the condition before finally being saved by the blessing of Anastasia.
Successfully avoided that condition, and evolved into another race. So far, Noelle's understanding of berserk conditions may still be lacking. He had yet to truly understand the effects of the condition.
Even though he was marketing, it was not like he could ask anything.
The situation now did not allow him to do that!
Noelle jumped from where she was standing, and found a fireball that appeared and swallowed the rock she had previously made her footing. He then landed on another rock, and began to observe the monster.
Letting Norman and Cryll take over the situation for a while, Noelle immediately seized the opportunity to find a solution in her head.
However, he lacked information. He had never seen that type of monster before. He had also never witnessed a clown that had suddenly turned into a monster. That obviously doesn't make sense.
One of the answers Noelle managed to find here was; someone had been controlling the situation from behind the scenes. But that raises another question. Who's mastermind?
For now, Noelle will put it aside for a moment, and focus on the problems that lie ahead of her. He would use all the information he had to solve this problem; and to do that, he needed some information.
First, what kind of monster is that? It is like a hybrid between a scorpion and a crab. Ignoring the strange tentacles growing there, its basic shape was already quite strange and unclear..
Second, what was the superiority of the monster? For this question, Noelle has found most of the answers.
The monster had the ability to attack by creating a lava ball enveloped in hot flames. In addition, he also used his limbs to deal with melee attacks.
The tentacles that grew there did not seem to exert such a powerful influence, but Noelle would remain vigilant and put those tentacles on the list of weapons that the monster possessed.
The skin was extremely hard, so it would be difficult for a sharp weapon to penetrate through it. Perhaps using a heavy weapon like a hammer or an axe would work, and Noelle could also try to attack using Langen's power.
Based on all that information, Noelle came to one final conclusion.
The monster he now possessed with Cryll and Norman, was a type of monster that attacked by relying on his physique, as well as something like magic that manifested a lava ball.
In short, he had elements related to fire.
If Noelle related it to the elemental law she knew, it should be that the monster would have a hard time overcoming water magic!
Noelle created a giant water ball as an experiment, and unhesitatingly threw it towards the monster. Ignoring Cryll and Norman who are clearly still there.
It worked, at least Noelle knew it. The monster begins to look uneasy and rebellious in an attempt to escape Noelle's water magic containment.
But, his excitement did not last long, as the giant bubble that drowned the monster instantly evaporated into a puff of hot gas.
"Would he heat his own skin? Considering he can get that lava ball out .. I guess it's still within normal limits."
Noelle tried to look as calm as possible as she analyzed the situation.
"I'll try to forget what you did just now. Do you have a solution? "
Cryll suddenly appeared beside him in a drenched state. Norman also came up with the same situation.
"I don't know. He has too many layers of defense. If we can get through his skin, we might be able to do something, but … "
"That would be difficult, yes … "
Norman instinctively understood the situation. For a moment, he glanced at the black sword hanging on Noelle's waist, and proposed to use it.
However, Noelle hesitantly answered him. "I might be able to use it, but .. It will be difficult to get close. Even though I can regenerate indefinitely as long as I still have magic, I don't know if there will be any parts of my body intact when it comes into contact with hot lava."
His ability in controlling body temperature was extremely useless here. It might work if all it faced was an ordinary blaze, but this was a very hot lava, he said, Noelle had never even tried to insert a single finger into the hot lava to test the regeneration power she possessed.
"In addition .." Noelle added in silence, "We don't know the point of weakness. So it would be very rash if we attacked his body randomly without taking it into account. I don't want to be the one grounded here, at least I'll choose Cryll to fill that position."
"Seriously, I'll pretend not to hear what you just said in the last point. If that's his weakness, I think we can only look for him ourselves from now on."
"You're right. Once we determine her weakness, Noelle can directly attack without hesitation."
Norman thought for a moment, and then looked at Noelle. "How about that? We'll give you some help so you can get closer, do you agree with that? "
Noelle nodded. "Sure, it will happen after we have successfully discovered its weakness. I won't ask for any compensation for this, so be grateful."
" ……… "
Norman did not answer him again, and again prepared to attack with Aligma in his hand.
"This weapon is perfect. It had combatants paying off melee and long-range attacks, but its efficiency in slashing was quite poor due to the shape of its blades. You might have to modify it again later."
"I'll tell Glantz about it."
Initially Noelle asked Glantz to create Zwei Aligma because he wanted a weapon that was efficient in both types of attacks. But, lately he started to use it rarely. He realized that his movements became very limited when using Aligma. At least, Langen or Verstand could he adjust the size at will.
Because he rarely and almost never used the weapon, he did not mind lending it to Norman.
Noelle held Langen in her right hand, while her left hand focused on controlling magic. On his right wrist, there was a small chain wrapped around it along with an accessory that looked like a silver sword. It was Verstand that he had set the size.
In this way, he could still use Verstand's strength even when he didn't seem to be holding it.
Noelle was draining her magic power into her left hand, while Cryll and Norman had moved from their positions.
Now, the three of them stood in a position to surround the monster with a triangular pattern.
Norman is ready to shoot with Aligma, while Cryll coats his body with a skeleton from Geist.
Noelle herself raised her left hand up to chest level, and created a water ball that kept spinning over her palm.
As if it had been waiting for them, the monster again let out a deafening scream, but it already did not exert any influence anymore since Noelle had already familiarized her own ears.
Cryll unhesitatingly jumps up and delivers a quick slash at one of the clown monster's legs, while Norman provides support by firing a zihir bullet at the wound Cryll manages to make.
The wound from Cryll's sword slash was not so fatal, it only slightly dug into the flesh of the clown monster. But, that's why Norman's help became so important.
The magic bullet that Norman fired struck right at the slash wound, and made an additional wound that immediately severed the clown monster's leg.
However, it seems that it is not enough.
The monster did not let out that horrible shriek again, and instead attacked Cryll using one of his sharp legs.
Cryll expertly moves to dodge, but has trouble realizing other attacks are coming from above him.
It was the slender tentacles of that clown monster. Its tentacles have elongated and are targeting Cryll as its sams.
Fortunately, Noelle realized it faster and took out a few swords which then slashed the tentacles to the point of breaking.
The pieces of tentacles and feet that fell on the ground wriggled in a disgusting manner, then slowly turned into hot lava that melted the ground.
"It seems he has no regenerative ability … "
Noelle carefully observed the situation, and began to make judgments.
"Keep attacking like before! He cannot regenerate! Target those feet, claws, or sting tails! "
Even if all that is targeted is not its weakness, at least it will reduce the number of parts that can be referred to as its 'weakness'.
"You said it easily! But it's really hard to move here! "
Cryll grumbled as he jumped from one new rock to another, in order to avoid the lava balls that kept shooting out. However, he still tried to do his 'duty'.
Cryll nimbly jumped up and dodged all the lava balls directed at him, then landed right next to the clown monster.
He swung his own sword by turning 360 degrees, easily severing three feet at a time.
With the added momentum and power of the Geist sword, it was not impossible to directly pierce through his skin! Although it was actually very draining mentally so he did not want to do it.
As Cryll was thinking about which other part he should target, a huge shadow flashed over his head.
Cryll turned his head up, obeying his instincts to tell him to jump away, but he found no nearby rocks that he could make as a foothold, so he remained still in place, prepare for the coming attack.
It is a sting tail that looks very hard, but has been divided into segments that make it look like it retains the original appearance of a scorpion.
However, just as Cryll was about to give any response, two attacks from different directions each appeared and made the stinger fall to the ground, then turn into a terrible puddle of lava.
He sees Noelle and Norman giving their support.
Noelle sent out an axe that kept turning towards the stinger, while Norman fired several concentrated magic bullets to the same point that Noelle attacked.
Judging from the way the axe flew, Cryll was convinced that Noelle was throwing it using her sheer force, without the help of telekinesis from Vertand.
Cryll wasted no more time, taking advantage of the opportunity by jumping from his position, then using chains to hang from the ceiling, before finally falling down and finding a foothold to land.
"At least the sting is no more now. Next, attack the claw! "
The clown monster itself had four claws in total. That corresponds to the combined number of claws that crabs and scorpions have.
Cryll and Norman easily nodded, then prepared to give another attack as their eyes attempted to scan the gap.
Noelle herself did not move from her position, she continued to pay attention to the clown monster without flinching in the slightest. His back was straight, and his sharp gaze was jealously scanning all the parts on the monster.
Finally, he found something that might be a clue.
It was the true body of the clown that became the core for the monster.
He should have been aware of this from the start, but somehow became caught off guard and was unable to see the clues that were already very clear.
Perhaps because he considers that the clown's body is nothing more than a mere catalyst. The clown turned into a monster when its body split apart, it made Noelle think that the clown might have nothing to do with the monster's weakness.
Noelle secretly smiled in self-deprecation as she prepared to jump. "It took me a long time to realize it. I think this place has an effect that can slow down my thought process … "
Noelle slightly bent both legs, and jumped high up, then controlled her own body to fall right on top of the monster.
From above, he saw Cryll and Norman continue to shower the clown with various attacks, until finally they both managed to cut and eliminate all the claws and legs of the monster.
The only thing that became a nuisance now was the slender, dry tentacles present on the monster's body, as well as its hard skin.
But that shouldn't be a problem. Noelle can handle it herself.
A second later, Noelle finally landed hard on the monster's body.
Both of his legs firmly stomped and created a huge crack on the surface of that extremely hard skin, then the sword in his right hand was also plugged in at the same point, too, so that a burst of red liquid which is high-temperature blood flows out very rapidly.
His blood spray was really strong, and the amount of blood that was released was also not small. That was enough to create a sticky pool of blood under Noelle's leather boots.
Cryll and Norman simultaneously land another attack, and make that terrible scream reappear.
Noelle did not stop, she walked forward while dragging her sword that was still stuck in the monster's body.
Until finally, Noelle arrived in front of the body of the now-unrecognizable clown.
"He should be the one controlling this damn monster! "
Noelle drew her sword, and firmly thrust it into the head of the previously split bedut.
The scream became stronger, and Noelle was barely able to hold her position so she slightly knelt down while covering her ears.
"Don't joke with me. You're a fucking clown! "
Noelle as much as possible dampened her anger emotions, venting it out by thrusting her sword repeatedly on the clown's body.
He also took out a few other swords which he then controlled to provide additional attacks.
Before long, the sound of that terrible scream faded, and the monsters and clowns stopped showing any signs of life.
Noelle breathed heavily, and watched the clown closely. He's dead, at least Noelle can confirm that.
After all the stabs and attacks he gave, the clown's body had already been reduced to a disgusting pile of flesh.
The only thing left of his character's mark is a mask that has now been destroyed most of its parts.
After making sure the clown was dead, Noelle with a heavy breath fell and sat on top of the monster corpse, trying to catch his breath while getting his hearing back.
"Are you okay? "
Norman appeared a few moments later. Noelle's breathing had returned to normal, and her mind had slowly become clear.
Noelle looked at Norman who reached out to her, who she received and stood with the help of her hand.
At that moment, Cryll suddenly appeared.
"Did he have–"
Before she could finish her words, Noelle and Norman compactly used their hands to cover her mouth.
" "Don't you say that sentence once in a while! " "
Cryll could only remain silent, without being able to understand his meaning. He is also confused with Noelle and Norman who can be compact in the odd moment.
