"At Terneth's mansion that night, what were you doing there? "
As soon as Noelle asked her, Cryll's eyes narrowed instantly. All expressions had disappeared from his face, and his empty eyes were becoming increasingly lifeless.
"Whatchu mean? "
Although not as flat as Noelle, the sound produced by Cryll has almost no intonation at all.
"As I said. What were you doing that night? What's your purpose there? "
" … Why do you assume that I snuck into the sweet of Terneth? Isn't that weird? And instead of that, why are you talking like you were there too? "
The words that Cryll spoke were as if cornered Noelle. But Noelle doesn't care. It was because he already did not care whether his secret about it would be revealed or not.
Even if the secret was exposed, there would be no loss that he would get. He can reverse the situation relatively easily.
If Cryll would actually spread that information, then it would be bad for Cryll himself. Also, Cryll has absolutely no hidden weapons he can use to corner Noelle.
It was inversely proportional to Noelle. He keeps Cryll's weakness, and can easily remove all suspicions directed at him, then use Cryll as a scapegoat.
Wh why? Of course, it was because Noelle already had a 'weapon'.
Thinking of so many advantages she had made Noelle almost reflexively smile. Even so, he tried to hold his facial muscles and still put on a flat face.
"I wouldn't bother hiding it. Back then, I did sneak into the Terneth mansion, but I also saw you there. What the hell are you doing? "
"Itu–"
Before Cryll answered, Noelle had already interrupted.
"Ahh, for the record, you won't be able to lie to me. I have another weapon that could destroy your life in no time. If you don't want it used, you better confess."
Of course, it was just a bluff. But, Noelle made her expression and attitude as neutral as possible so Cryll assumed that she really had the weapon.
In fact, the weapon Noelle had was not that great.
The results can be seen immediately. Cryll frowned and made a doubtful expression.
He seemed to be in disbelief, but at the same time he also felt that Noelle was not joking.
Getting to know Noelle for months makes her always think excessively about what weapons Noelle is hiding.
(It's easy to control someone when that person knows me well enough.)
Noelle could barely hold back her smile.
Cryll had very high expectations of Noelle, and she was also aware of the power that Noelle had. But, it is precisely because of expectations and awareness that he became thinking excessively.
That makes it very easy to control.
"What's? You can't answer? Can I take that as a confession? Then we're balanced."
Seeing Cryll's condition, Noelle immediately ended her annoying game.
" … What do you mean? "
Cryll looks confused, but he is still very wary of what Noelle will say next.
(This is the end.)
Noelle raised both of her hands and made a sour expression.
"Yahh, like I said. We are in an equal position. You hold onto my weakness, and I hold onto your weakness. None of us want that revealed to the public, right? Then, how about we make a deal? "
"Deal? "
"Yes, deal. Why don't we forget everything we talked about here, and act like nothing happened? You know the fact that I'm Souris? Thenwhat? Does that really mean? You just have to ignore it. And that way, we're even."
" ……… "
Naturally, Cryll understood his point. If he forced Noelle to discuss this again, then it would be the end for her.
He let his guard down because he forgot the fact that Noelle was a person with a strange and difficult to guess. As soon as he recalled it, Cryll immediately felt that Noelle was the kind of person he should avoid no matter what.
He's known Noelle for a long time. But it was precisely because of that, that he became increasingly unsure about to play with her in terms of thoughts or such.
Frowning, Cryll put on a fierce smile and snorted in annoyance.
"Then, I'll gladly accept the offer."
Noelle replied to him with the same smile she had. The two stared at each other for a while, before Noelle finally closed her eyes and turned around, walking away leaving Cryll.
(Livia, I still have a little business. I'll finish it quickly. So, will you wait for me? )
Shortly after, Olivia responds to Noelle's telepathic message.
{Nn, no problem. But I'd be happy if Noelle wanted to spend more time here with me.}
(. .... Not even 20 hours have passed since we left .. I'll just be away for a while, so wait for me.)
{Nn, alright.}
That way, the telepathic connection was cut off, and Noelle's figure turned into black smoke which then disappeared in the wind.
...****************...
Somewhere in the water.
Clumps of black smoke began to gather in one place, and manifested its true form.
It was a simple fishing boat that could only hold ten people. And there, that wisp of black smoke appeared with the figure of a man.
It was Noelle, who looked around her with a small smile.
"Did I make you wait? " noelle asked the person sitting on one of the chairs there.
"No, not at all. You're coming a little too fast, boss."
The one who answered his question, a red-haired man who had a fierce smile on his face—Harold.
Welcoming Noelle, Harold immediately stood up and lowered his head slightly.
Noelle raised one hand as a gesture to stop the formal behavior, and Harold understood.
The two immediately sat on the seats facing each other, and enjoyed the twilight breeze hitting their bodies, making the sails laid out on the fishing boat flutter strongly.
Harold took out a paper box from his pocket, and took out a roll of paper, before finally offering it to Noelle. However, Noelle shook her head to reject him.
"Sorry, I don't smoke."
Harold looked astonished, but he did not ask any further and directly put the tip of the cigarette into his mouth, and burned the other end using a simple match in his hand.
"What about them? "
After Harold smoked and exhaled the smoke from the cigarette, Noelle asked. The question is a little unclear, so it is almost incomprehensible. But, fortunately Harold had such keen intuition that he understood Noelle's intentions.
"Some of them have already infiltrated enemy ships, and are ready to take us anytime to it. Do you want to start now? "
Despite only doing one strong suction, the extremely pungent smell of tobacco had already spread around Harold, making Noelle who smelled the scent instantly frown.
"Passive smoking has a greater risk of developing lung cancer, so I hope you don't smoke near people who want to stay healthy."
"Cancer? Do you care about that? You'll never get a disease like that, right? "
"No, but I hate the smell of tobacco."
The two of them were just laughing at each other, while the sky was already getting darker.
"It's time, huh? " said Harold as he pressed the tip of his burning cigarette against the wooden table before him.
The cigarette was instantly extinguished, and Harold stood up right after.
"Come, I'll guide you" said Harold.
Noelle stood up and calmly followed Harold into the equipment warehouse on the deck of the ship.
The warehouse was not very large, but all the goods inside were arranged in such a way that it would not take up space.
"This ... Teleportation circle, huh? I didn't expect you to use it."
His cynical comment made Harold frown unhappily, but the person just nodded and folded his arms.
"indeed not. But, it would be an exception if I got help from a few more people."
Harold's abilities in terms of physicality and magic had indeed improved significantly when he evolved into a vampire. But, he was still unable to use high-level magic like teleportation.
He needs someone else's help to activate it. And the person in question was all the people Harold had made vampires before.
Their number increased to 17 people, and there were about four people currently on the enemy ship.
Harold just needed to give them a telepathic message. So, they can activate the magic at the same time.
"I'm sure I don't have to say this. But ... Be prepared to be surprised by what you see there."
With those words as the trigger, the huge magic circle that was under Noelle and Harold's feet instantly shone. Another magic circle similar to that of the magic circle appeared above their heads, creating strands of light threads intertwined with each other, so it creates a tube of light that shuts them both inside.
A second later, the entire world they saw was engulfed by light, before finally being replaced with a scene from a place completely different from that simple fishing boat.
If an ordinary person felt such teleportation earlier, their head would probably be very sore, and the inside of their stomach seemed to be stirred. But, Noelle and Harold had no problem with that.
The two of them, especially Noelle looked at her surroundings with eyes full of curiosity.
The walls, ceilings, and floors on which they rested were entirely made of metal. Noelle tried to stomp her leg, and produced an echo so powerful that it would probably sound all the way outside.
"All the layers are quite thin. But ... It's pretty strong … "
Relying on the sound vibrations resulting from the stomping of her feet, Noelle had already managed to analyze the thickness of all the metal plates lining the room.
The room was spacious enough that the sound echoed well, but some of the metal and wood cargo scattered around actually absorbed some of the volume from the sound echo.
"Now ... Let's get started."
Finished with her observation of the place, Noelle immediately put a big smile on her face.
Harold smiled, then approached the two men standing behind them.
"Is everything ready? "
The two did not answer, but nodded instead. One corner of Harold's lips was getting raised, and he waved his hand as if to chase the two of them away.
The two people instantly turned into two bats, and flew out of the room.
"Is that our new vampire? "
"Yes. You saw it for yourself, didn't you? They're not very good at direct combat, but I can guarantee their ability to carry out the task."
"In that case, I'll leave them all to you. I just don't want the worst situation to happen."
"I'll take those words as a warning."
Harold spread one hand to the side, before finally folding his hand back to the chest making a simple respectful pose. His head was also slightly subdued, while a smile was still clearly plastered on his face.
Noelle saw that, and could not help but form a sour expression on her face.
This really reminded him of his past while still on earth.
"alright. Then we can start now."
A pool of blood began to form under Noelle's feet, and eventually created a katana sword that Noelle held very firmly in her right hand.
His eyes turned red, and his hair fluttered freely without any wind blowing it.
Looking at the figure of his king, Harold was only able to smile. All of his memories of his past in Red Eagle slowly faded away, as if replaced by a new purpose forming in his life.
...****************...
"Invader! Finish them! "
Shouts, screams, and screams. That was all that could be heard from all the humans there. The rest? Only the loud sound of a bang produced a huge explosion on the deck of the ship.
One by one armed guards came out, and aimed towards their enemy—Noelle.
Dozens of hot lead bullets were fired, but none of them reached Noelle's body. All of the bullets were stopped with just a transparent barrier forming around Noelle.
The bullet stopped, and floated in the air. Noelle raised one hand and touched all the bullets with her fingertips.
After he finished, he instantly pulled Verstand from his scabbard, and activated the sword's telekinesis ability.
The bullet that was previously directed at him started to turn around, and disappeared without a sound. But, it didn't really disappear literally.
All of the bullets landed on the bodies of everyone who fired them, and produced injuries that rendered them unable to move anymore.
Noelle had just used telekinesis to take control of the bullet.
Without saying anything, Noelle immediately pulled Langen out of the sheath, and slammed him onto the floor.
The tremors, and the resulting bang collided his sword with the floor, causing shock waves, and tremendous shock to the ship.
Everyone lost their balance, and the ship felt tilted because of it. If this goes on, this ship might sink.
But it doesn't matter. After all, this was an enemy ship.
Harold was still inside, hunting down all the treasures he had with his four new men. So, Noelle was really alone here.
One by one the enemies came at him, with intense killing intent completely directed at himself.
Noelle made various moves to get rid of them all.
He kicked one of the enemies in the stomach, and caught the other's hand, before finally swinging the man wildly like a weapon.
Everyone who was hit by the 'weapons' in his hand was unable to retaliate. They could only willingly accept Noelle's attack and were thrown far away so that it hit the barrier wall of the ship.
They could not put up any resistance, as it could be painful for their comrade who was made a weapon by Noelle.
Noelle widened her smile, and swung her hand in a simple gesture.
Instantly, all the bodies that approached him, had giant red spines growing out from their bodies.
Not stopping there, Noelle also created a very thin, but sharp thread from her blood. He controlled all of those threads and positioned them in such a way that made all the enemies get caught between the tangles of dozens of them.
"Dead."
Instantly, all of the threads stiffened, making everyone trapped between the intertwines feel an overwhelming pressure afflicting their bodies.
The result, you can imagine. All the threads were made from Noelle's blood. Thin, and very sharp. If it was to suppress the human body, then the result was definitely something terrifying.
Despite that, Noelle ignored all the horrifying scenery around her, and continued to deliver another attack on the remaining enemies.
Noelle raised one hand upwards, and made a large circle made of blood appear in the air as if responding to her movements.
The circle gets bigger, and it spins faster.
Naturally, everyone's gaze began to be drawn to it, and made Noelle even more widen her smile.
Noelle lowered her hand quickly, and hundreds of blood thorns began to be shot out from the rapidly spinning circle of blood in the air.
All those thorns were fired without having a definite target. Even so, just with that alone was enough to make the situation even more chaotic.
All the enemies who came at Noelle with killing intent, one by one fell down helplessly as those red thorns pierced through their bodies.
Without removing her smile, Noelle spun around with her one hand slowly raised into the air.
The dance is simple, yet exudes a terrible beauty. Such is the image that all who see it have, before death comes to them.
The circle of blood began to slow down along with Noelle's slowing down. And at the end of the round, Noelle immediately put on her mask— made by Ethan for his disguise as Souris.
All of the blood that formed the circle then broke apart, and droplets upon drops of blood fell down onto the figure of Noelle who stood up without saying anything there.
His hair was white, and his pale skin was now stained with the red color of his own blood.
Noelle turned around and looked towards a flying bird circling not far from the ship, making her naturally smile even though the mask was blocking all expression on her face.
A powerful killing intent instantly shot out from him, and made the bird instantly fly away as if understanding its intent.
