Tuti Lazy School

Tuti Lazy School
32. A Meaningful Holiday

I woke up thirsty. I saw Grandma making breakfast. The smell is like cooking my favorite Fried Rice. I was curious and approached the kitchen

"Hmm.. It smells good, what's Grandma cooking?" I commended.

Smiling, chuckling "Wake up Grandma's granddaughter? This is Grandma cooking your favorite White Fried Rice."

I'm tempted, hungry and impatient "That's delicious! Tuti wants Nek!" I immediately picked up the plate and spoon impatiently eating Grandma's cooking.

"Here get your plate." Grandma thrust the spatula containing the fried rice, stuffed into my plate.

I also eat Grandma's cooking. I haven't eaten his cooking in a long time. The cooking is so good. Eleven twelve is the same as the cuisine of mamak. But if I may admit Grandma's cooking is more legendary and delicious! If Mamak loses quickly wake up from Grandma. My grandmother was up at four in the morning. At five in the morning, I woke up. But it doesn't matter, I just wake up at six in the morning or at half-seven in the morning hehehe. My grandmother ate next to me. Grandma asked me for help

"Tuti, will you help Grandma make some cake?"

"What's the cake, Grandma?" I devoured a mouthful of rice in my mouth.

"Kue conch, ply, and others." Grandma made a lot of it.

"What time do we do it?" I pensively for a moment.

"Hmm, about three in the afternoon. After ahsar, right?" Grandma reassured.

"If it's twelve, one, two Ti, Grandma's still sleeping. Hehe was a Granny. The innards want a good night's sleep."

"Well, we won't eat." I was shocked to see Grandma making so many plans. Our family actually does not like snacks, if ever rarely.

"It's okay, a little bit of an Amentar Grandma made. You've never tasted those cookies, have you?"

I shook my head "Not yet?" Surprised, staring at the ceiling, wondering what it would be like.

"Well, then help Grandma do it. Uhh for a second, Grandma wants to cook some warm water first. For Grandma's drinking water, if there's no warm water Grandma likes to cough it up." Grandma holds his throat.

"Ohh yes, Grandma." Nodding in, getting out of my meal and ready to eat too.

.........

It's afternoon now. Just like Grandma planned. I saw in the room, Grandma was asleep. Probably overslept. So I intend to wake him up. I turned on the room light, and I woke up to pull it off slowly

"Miss, Grandma, Grandma? You wake up, he says he's gonna make a cake."

My Grandma faintly opened her newly woken eyes, half conscious it was "Hmm, ha? Oh, yes-yes. Wait a minute." Grandma got up from the bed, pondered for a moment and got up from her bed.

"Wait a minute, Grandma will take ablution. Want to pray first, make cake. Where did you start with cake?" Grandma confused.

"The cake layers Nek, I wonder where the shape of the sandwich cake is."

"Ohh, you made it a new one." Grandma went to the bathroom to get her ablution water.

.........

After Grandma finished her worship. My grandmother and I rushed to make the cake. The ingredients consist of: 25 tbsp rice flour, 25 tbsp tapioca flour (canji), 25 tbsp sugar (which likes sweetness can be added), 1000 ml coconut milk, etc, Enough salt and food coloring. The tools are: Poyang, Cage filled with water for steaming, Plates and Knives. Even though it makes me dizzy and seems complicated. But not for my grandmother

"Well that first step, boil coconut milk and sugar to boil if you can not break. Should boil yes, the goal is not to quickly stale the cake layer later, if it is boiling. Then shut up and chill." Grandma explained with a smile, and practiced how to make the layer.

"Keep that second step, Mix rice flour and tapioca (canji). Then pour the coconut milk that has been cold a little until mixed dough is not thick jg not diluted. Then give enough salt.." While Grandma was doing her cake making.

Mamaak came to us "Wihh, what's it for? My mom helps me." Mamak screwed us.

I shook off his hand "Thank no Mak. Let us, another Mamak."

"Ohh yaudah." My mom went to do another job.

"Well, just entered the third step Tuti. Divide the dough into 3, give color. The color can actually be anything. But because we have the green color Pandan, brown coffee, the same white dough yaudah this is all we use. Pandan's green color, brown coffee and the 1st one remains white dough."

I nodded openly to "Ohh that's it Nek, a lot of his steps. Ribet too." I'm starting to get a little dizzy.

"It's because you're not used to it. If you're used to it Tuti is good to make it yourself. Suppose you wandered far away, no one sold. Tuti can do it yourself." Grandma laughed a little.

"Ehe yes, Grandma. It's ripe, Grandma!?" I can't wait to eat it.

"Ehh not yet!" Grandma brushed off my hand that grabbed the sandwich. "Then the fourth step. Heat the boiler filled with water earlier. Oles the alloy first with a little oil. then pour 5 minutes perlayer Tuti, make sure the steam is hot first.."

"It's not hot perfect why is it, Grandma?"

"It could fail." Grandma laughed.

"That is the end. Do it until it runs out, wait for the new really cold behind and it can be cut." While Grandma explains and waits for our homemade cookies to cool.

I'm astonished, and can't wait for "Mother, how long is this ready to chill her cake?"

"Yes in the toel-toel. If it is cold, jaudah is served. But it must be really cold that was tossed."

"Although not a walk, on holiday this time is quite long, but it means you can learn the same cake Grandma. A meaningful holiday for Tuti." I smiled and was grateful.

Grandma hugged me "Oh, it's okay. Long holidays not even though the streets yes Tuti. Could it be anything else, is it okay?" Grandma blushed at my words.

"Ehe yes, Grandma." I smiled and hugged Grandma back.

.........

Once the cake is edible, Grandma cuts the cake and serves it at the dinner table. I took a shower and picked up the cake at the dinner table

"Hhh prepare your bath first." Mama's grumbling.

"Ehe Tuti is curious. Hmm good!" I taste, it feels soft, chewy, and sticky is also sweet.

"That's the name Grandma made." Grandma feels patent.

"Yes that's Grandma." I'm laughing a little.

I feel so grateful today. There is so much I can learn from this long holiday. Even if you don't go anywhere at least worth being with Grandma. I forgot that last year's long holidays bored me if I didn't go anywhere. The important thing is to walk. That's me.
