Sky and Ivano enter Room B. The place is spacious, ivory-white-walled, with long windows and an elongated writing table forming a semicircle. In front of the class there is a black rectangular whiteboard and a wide table in golden brown.
The blue bead circled his attentions, looking around before deciding to sit on the third row bench from the front. Ivano followed behind, sitting to the left of the Sky while yawning wide.
Some teenagers are busy studying, chatting, even sleeping in the corner of the room. Some are alone and some are in groups. Some examinees also wore clothes that presented their tribe. It immediately made Heaven see his own appearance and Ivano who did not symbolize the slightest of their tribe.
“No need to think,” suddenly Ivano said, even though he was closing his eyes while supporting his chin. “No provisions say, extra points if we come up with the emblem of each tribe.”
“I know it!” The sky was slow. “But doesn't that mean they are proud of their tribe?”
The originally closed black bead was finally half-open. Pay attention to the clinging of his best friend who looks amazed by other examinees. Ivano finally confirmed the sitting position and mengeplak softly behind the head of the sky.
“Ya already, ale can follow using when becoming a new student representative. That's also if ale can get the first rank of the entrance exam.”
The sky chuckled softly, not at all angry at Ivano who hit him on the head nor seemed to underestimate him. That's because the blue-eyed teenager knew, that's how Ivano is. Support behind his harsh attitude and words.
“Effort that you are not ranked 1st from below!”
“It's clear. Beta zinc need effort, the important pass!”
The sky almost patted the eel, he did not expect much either. Three months of teaching Ivano was really draining. But still he hopes they can both graduate and live school life together.
The sound of the door opening rang out loud, along with the knocking of the incoming step. He stood behind the table, staring at the dozens of children in plain sight. A man in his mid-thirties. It has a wide square-shaped face, thin lips and a pug nose.
He wears a banjar man's dress, a long-sleeved shirt with a brown ground. The neck is round without a collar, where the neck is split up to the chest. The split part is buttoned as much as three pieces, sewn to the right. At the waist, there is a batik cloth wrapped with a length of fifteen centimeters above the knee.
“Good morning kids, please sit down neatly soon. My name is Hasan Bakri who will be the supervisor of the entrance exam stage one.”
Not until one minute, the examinee immediately sat on each bench. The room that was once boisterous is now quiet. Hasan nodded in satisfaction, then shook off the air in front of his chest with his hand. A white transparent status window appeared, surprising the participants.
“It turns out that the rumor that says the technology in the West Indonesia Region Academy is more advanced is not a lie!”
The sky put up its ears when it heard the whispers of the other participants behind it. Another participant suddenly replied.
“You live in which part of Indonesia? it's nothing new in urban areas!”
“But not everyone can get access to that technology! I heard it takes a lot of money to list and install it.”
The sky nodded without him noticing. The technology that Hasan showed, is indeed fairly new. Many people want to buy it. But because the stock of the product is limited, and is still in the development stage, only a handful have it. Including the Sanjaya family.
“I have shared the exam question through the participant card. You can open it by attaching your thumb to the column below your photo.” Hasan spoke again, setting an example.
The participants followed Hasan's instructions, as well as Sky and Ivano. When the heir to the Sanjaya family glued his thumb, a thin blue light shimmered slowly. After the light goes out, a screen appears on the table.
“You can simply press the answer button that you think is correct. Working time two hours, start from now!”
The sky gulped nervously, he immediately read about. Work carefully and make sure every answer is nothing wrong. Meanwhile Ivano worked on it with half an intention. He read the matter quickly, pressing the button that felt the answer was correct. Sometimes Ivano originally replied when feeling deadlocked, did not understand the problem or did not know the answer.
After two hours had passed, suddenly a beep! small sounds twice. The sky suddenly distanced itself from the screen, staring around, confused. It turned out that not only him, some children also raised their heads from the exam. Suddenly, a participant screamed in panic.
“I'm not done!”
“Argh!”
It turned out that the sound of the small Beep was a sign, that the exam time had been completed. Automatically the screen contains the exam questions close and disappear. Not allowing participants to work more than the specified time.
The sky heaved a sigh of relief, it was fortunate that he had indeed finished working on it. He then turned to Ivano, about to take her out of the room. But his best friend was staring blankly. It seemed like Heaven knew the reason, and felt concerned.
“Be-beta is not finished yet..,” murmured slowly.
“Already, there is still a second stage test.” The sky tried to encourage Ivano while gently patting her shoulder. “Come we're out!”
The two teenagers pressed back on the participant's card, looking for the map feature to find out where the canteen was located. After walking for about three minutes, they arrived at a spacious room full of glass. Sun bias through the window, making the view of the canteen more beautiful.
“Hei! it's not wrong you're here?”
The sky turned as a voice of ridicule sounded. About a meter away, there were three teenagers facing other teenagers. The boy had straight black hair, mature brown skin, thin height. He looked down, staring at the tray filled with lunch.
“You should be in Room D, not here!” ingenious white teenager while pointing the chest of the interlocutor with index finger. “Mud, well, it should be in a puddle of mud! How dare you set foot in the same place as Mr Malik!”
The black-haired teenager's forehead wrinkled faintly, not liking what he saw. But there are questions that make him more curious. Be Sky ask his sidekick.
“Hey, what does the term mud mean?”
“...”
Not getting an answer, Heaven turned his head. Turns out Ivano wasn't there next to him, where did he go?
“Ale find who?” Ivano appeared suddenly and asked without sin.
“Where are you from?” The sky instead of answering, he instead asked back in an annoyed tone. “Don't suddenly disappear like that!”
Ivano grinned widely, he then lifted a tray showing a lot of food there. “What else if not take food? ale why are you still standing instead of looking for a seat?”
“I want to ask,” Sky hastily embraced ivano's shoulders, then pointed at four people with his chin. “They lotus his friend mud, you know what it means?”
Ivano turned to him in disbelief. “ALE SERIOUSLY?!”
The sky cleared slowly because Ivano's voice was too loud. He nodded, looking at his friend curiously. While the teenager Ambon was clucking, as if he did not understand what he heard.
“They were rude once, or should beta say, they're racist!”
“Rasis?”
Ivano sighed softly, “Beta must have known the reason Noah's Ark was formed was to preserve each tribe. Marrying fellow tribes is an absolute thing that needs to be done to maintain the continuity of the tribe. Well, mud is the name for those who are born with blood from two different tribes. It means the child's parents married in different tribes, and it's taboo.”
Hearing Ivano's explanation made Regi's adopted son dumbfounded. He did know the tribe was very important in Indonesia, but did not expect there to be such a negative side.
“What's wrong with having mixed blood?” Ivano stared at the three teenagers cynically. “As long as married with love, it is better than forced because it has to follow the existing custom.”
A moment of iris as blue as the ocean looked at her friend fixedly. I don't know why there is a hidden meaning to the word Ivano.
“Already, let's find a seat!”
The sky turned its head, seeing Ivano already walking away looking for a seat. The teenager was about to follow but a loud voice was heard diverting his attention.
“Mud Base!”
