The Thousand Year Dynasty

The Thousand Year Dynasty
23. Presentation: Closure

Nata filled the iron ball with two different liquids in both valves on the left and right sides of the ball. Then he took the burning oil lamp, and put the burning oil lamp fire wick into one of the valves of the iron ball. Then after that close the valve door.

From within the iron ball it now began to sound like the sound of boiling water, rumbling slowly as it approached. Then shortly thereafter from the back side of the cube under the sphere, as the valve of the water kettle began to open shut by making strange sounds. Like the clang of a metal mingled with the sound of the shrill scream of an animal.

Everyone who saw this was surprised, especially when it looked like the little serrated wheel between its four wheels was starting to move. And before long the wheeled cube began to advance over the frame of the bridge, walking at a steady pace across the room.

Even Lucia, Jean, and Cornelius were surprised to see her.

"What is magic?" Amithy asked Parpera next to her.

"Not madam, I do not see any flow of Soul from the object" replied Parpera after actually ascertaining the direction of the wheeled object belonging to Nata.

"How does the device run? What liquid did you just put in?" Madron looked almost lost his mind.

"Basically this tool uses steam power to run. Mealism will be very complicated to understand, but for simplicity this tool runs with the help of water and fire" answered Nata later.

"Water and Fire?" I hear more questions than the people in that place.

"True, more or less like that. The liquid I was putting in was water and oil. But it's only because it's so small that we can't use wood to create heat that can boil water. Later in its final form, this tool will be as big as a horse carriage or more. So don't worry about expensive oil costs, because we can use cheaper firewood" Nata explained.

"So that train can move by itself without being pulled or pushed?" Dirk asked to make sure. His mind as a trader has started to wildly imagine what things can be done by the tool, and what impacts will affect the trading sector in general.

"True sir Dirik. We just need water and firewood to run it" replied Nata who was ready to start his explanation again about his offer.

"So with this tool, which we can even use to transport horse carriages, it is certain that the trade route will be on the land of Pharos. Besides traders can rest their horses when passing through the land, also I dare guarantee this steam train will take faster than the crossing by sea ship" Nata walked across the room towards the miniature steam train which had now stopped at the end of the room.

"In addition, if we make a lot of connected trains lined up behind it, we can transport how many people or objects in one way. And we can make as many crossings as we want. It won't be a problem because it's not affected by the weather, it's not pulled by horses, it doesn't take a lot of people to run it" Nata returned to his original position after taking the miniature steam train. All eyes follow his movements.

"Then by calculating from all costs incurred, then the rent will be much cheaper than ships. Obviously this means would be the most reasonable choice for traders" Nata searched again to sip a drink on the table next to him.

"Well, after seeing and hearing my explanation earlier, how did you decide? Do you still doubt? Or have you determined that you will help us by making an interest-bearing loan or entering into a trade agreement?" Tanya Nata closed her explanation.

Upon hearing Nata's question, immediately the room became boisterous by everyone speaking simultaneously.

Now there are only Nata, Lucia, Jean, Cornelius, and Caspian in the middle room. The result of the meeting was that all the nobles present agreed to provide assistance. But for the form of reward, they would determine after seeing what the steam train was like in its real form.

This made Lucia so excited that she was endlessly smiling.

"Caspian had a friend of a merchant in the city of Zeraza" replied Lucia who bestowed upon Caspian.

"Actually he was not just an ordinary merchant, he was also an information merchant. I think he's the one who's fit for the job. It's just a double eye. He'll be asking for a heavy fee, what else if he finds out you're a princess" Caspian explained.

"Does your friend really appreciate a Mr. Caspian's information?" Nata asked.

"Oh, very appreciative. To him the information was a field of money" Caspian replied in a confident tone and sounded like scorn for the theme.

"Then there is no need to worry, I have the most appropriate reward for him" Nata replied later, smiling. Seeing Nata's smile filled with confidence made Lucia even more unable to stop smiling.

"Did your presentation go well, Nat?" Aksa asked her the other night while they were having dinner together.

"Great success" Nata answered while still devouring his food.

"So we'll go to Zeraza tomorrow the day after our supplies are ready. It took three days to get to the city from Kotaraja" Lucia said later.

"I want to go around this city, tomorrow" said Nata.

"Means I still have another chance to read the books in the palace library" said Aksa who sounded very carefree.

"What is the pleasure of reading the scrolls and books?" I heard Jean's voice.

"Because it's all Jean's information, and information is power. Do you know if in this city there is a festival to find a mate every half year? And every entering the age of seventeen sons and daughters of nobles throw a feast in search of fiancee?" Aksa seemed excited to tell Jean what she had just read this afternoon.

"Give up" Reply Jean indifferently, he regretted having started the conversation with Aksa.
